Hey girls...I understand the splittingof the gusset (have done that before)..but are you saying that you also split the side pieces too?  If so, where to you split them?  Horizontally or vertically?  hummmmmm

Shantell...I don't remember any photos actually being posted.  I think one of the ladies sent pictures around to those who wanted a better idea of it.

Thank you for your comment on the pups.  My maltese never met reserve...bummer!  I don't think that maltese bring the money that the yorkies do...but such a beautiful breed!
Hugs,

Hi Jane....

You might want to check out this thread I started on Edinburgh's site.
I too, wanted to make big feet and there were quite a few wonderful ideas sent to me.

So make a tall glass of iced tea and sit back and enjoy! :D

oh thanks Shelli, for your time to search it all out.
I wonder if I bought the memory card attachment and the memory card for the camera, if that would work.

I just cannot spend the money for a new camera.  That is not in the stars at this time.

My daughter has several cameras and I know she would be happy to take the pics, but she is 9 months pregnant with 3 other children and I didn't want to bother her with this too.
I will check into the attachment and card, if they still make it.

Thank you so much for the offer to take the pics (that is just like you)...you're a sweetie, but I would never impose.

I will do some checking.

bear_grin Louise you are so funny.

Sauna fees?  what a riot!

Occasionally, I still get a flash or two...usually brought on by stress or really hot weather, both seem to aggrevate it.

I was working as a floral designer when my 'personal summers'...were really bad and I would just go into the floral cooler for about 5 mins and wooolaaaaa, it was gone!!!
I was in the cooler A LOT!!!
Those coolers run at 38 degrees, so you can see it took quite a while to 'cool me down'.

Glad they are over for the most part.  I hated it too, Louise.

Keep the fans running....
Bless your heart!

tips4.jpgtips.jpgtips2.jpgtips3.jpgShelli...I do have the manual.  I never lose those kind of things because I ALWAYS need them. :lol:

My camera is a MVC-FD87  I think I bought it in 2000.  We were still at the farm in MO.

I don't have much time here...we are getting a nasty storm coming thru.
But...
In looking in the index, this is what I find under IMAGE (being the top picture.)

Then I found some of the following pages that seemed to be in the criteria.

Who set the camera?  WELL, that would be mwaaaa!! who knows nothing about cameras...I just knew I needed one and this Mavica seemed to be the most user friendly camera available at the time.  I really love my Mavica and hope it will work for me.

Tell, hubby thank you too.  I am so glad he loves cameras, perhaps he can figure out my mistake.

I had my mothers 3D camera (you are way too young to remember those) but she used a light meter and all that stuff...took gorgeous pics that had to be viewed thru a 3D view finder.  I gave it to my daughter because I could NEVER figure that one out.  That must have been the 'gene' from my mother, I didn't get! :(
Hugs to you and hubby,
Nanc....

Hi Shelli...

I just did what you advised.
Here is what I found out, and if I could have copied my 'screen' as you did, it would have been easier...but I could not.  I am sure there is a way.

My camera takes photos in these sizes.

1280 X960
1280 (3:2)
1024X768  (which is what I always use)
640X480

Now, the 1280 (3:2) showed this on the Image Size screen:

Pixel Dimension: 3.11m
W = 1280
H= 848
Document Size
W= 17.68 inches
H= 11.778
Resolution 72 Pixels

The 1280X960 showed:

Pixel Dimension:
W = 1280
H= 960
Document Size
W= 17.778 inches
H= 13.333
Resolution 72 Pixels

I am using a Sony Mavica..perhaps I can't send a photo to TB&F.
Altho Mindy called me here at home one day and asked me to submit some pictures of my crocheted bears (for the thread bear issue).  She told me just to email them to (I can't remember her name) and they took it from there.
I had submitted some photos on a floppy and she said they had no way to view them from a floppy  (that is why she called me)

My Mavica takes pics using a floppy or a memory card.  It has to have a memory card adapter and after purchasing the camera, I didn't want to spend the additional monies for  the adapter and the memory card, so I put floppies in the camera.  Anyway, they couldn't use them on a floppy.

My new computer has a cd/dvd burner so I can do that ok...but it looks like my camera isn't capable of taking 300 DPI's :(
Thanks for trying Shelli.  I can't afford a new camera right now...so I guess I will just forget about this venture.

Shelli...how can I say THANK YOU.
I don't think they have a font size...big enough to shout...THANK YOU!!

I have copied and printed all that you sent.
I was just going to try to figure this all out today.  I went to TB&F's site to get the demensions and I was sitting there, thinking...I know I won't be able to do this.

Now I have something, I can work with because your generosity!

You are a love!!

katie6.jpgDilu...The fabric that I made my maltese out of is Schulte's 4" pile.
It is truly beautiful and what makes it so nice to work with is that there is a short pile underfur..almost like a fuzzy cushion under the long fur.  You can cut down into it a lot further than a normal synthetic.
The maltese did not have to be cut anywhere however, so it works perfect for the long furred critters.
When I use synthetics, I don't really like to buy 'yardage' fur.  I prefer to purchase a coat because the quality of the fur is just so much better.  The name Terry Lewis comes to my mind when I think of a quality coat.
I may be wrong, but I think that was the name. Sold on QVC or HSN.
I purchased a coat of his with the intentions of making bears.  When the coat arrived it was so beautiful, I didn't have the heart to cut into it.  I purchased a very large one and it was too big for me to wear and besides I would look rediculous in the this small town running around with a faux mink coat on...so I sold it on ebay.
Any ways this fur I used for the maltese was 90.00 a yard, but it is beautiful, and I think worth it...(if it sells:/)

Girls, I want to submit a little friend to Teddy Bears and Friends for their Bruins & Buddies.

I read their photo criteria, but I don't know how to do what they want.

I have this new Elements and don't know how to use it...plus a book that is a million pages thick.
All I want to do is to make the picture the way they want it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We also accept electronic files. They should be submitted via e-mail or CD in the following format: at least 300 d.p.i. resolution, sized 3x5" or 4x6", and TIF, EPS, or JPEG format. Please include printed "thumbnails" of each file.
It is so frustrating not to know how to do this techie stuff.
Thanks for any help you can send my way.
Hi Barb and WELCOME !!!
So nice that you have decided to join our group and already you have given us some valuable information.
I used to know a lady who did floral arrangements that way and she would decorate her entire house for people to go thru and buy whatever caught their eye.  She was like ...'a happening' ... that everyone waited for each fall.  We moved away, but I am sure she is still going strong.
Your post comes, just after I read a post by Shelli  about ways to get the collectors' interest back to bears.
This is a wonderful idea.
Thanks for your input.
Nanc.........
Be a lurker, NO MORE!!!
NancyAndFriends
Oh no, Shelli...I did what you suggested above and just googled Nancyandfriends to see if anything came up.
It sure did...it belongs to Nancy Sinatra.  I don't think there is a chance she will give it up, it is her fan club.:lol::lol::lol:
Ok, so nancyand friends will have to be my ebay id and now it is back to the drawing board....bummer!
Help girls !!!
:Dn shelli, you are just a plethora of knowledge.  Just amazing and always so generous with your knowledge.
This whole post was so interesting, you are lucky to have such friends!!
I thought about my new name...NancyAndFriends and I am hoping it will surfice to conjure up an image of what I am all about.  What do you think?
I laughed at K.I.S.S...that is so cute :lol:
I had taken a course many years ago called "Dressing For Success" and it is amazing how color is such an important part of our decisions and what color will actually do to us.
For instance, banks always have green or blue logos (there may be an exception) but these colors denote security, trust.
  Restaurants inside will more often than not use orange, red, yellow (hot colors, if you will)...so you will eat quickly and leave.
One of the interesting things I learned was a lady who went door to door collecting for the Cancer Society.  The first year she wore a red sweater and black slacks...she collected very little.  She took this class and the next year she wore a soft pink fuzzy sweater and white slacks.  She collected something from every house.
Isn't it amazing how our minds are manipulated by such things as color or what a certain word will make you think of.  As you used for an example, Judi's "Luxemburg Bears"...that makes me think of quality.  The name has a rich, substantial feeling to me.
Thanks Shelli for an interesting post...I am sure this will go off in many directions. ;)
Paula...take your camera with you, please!  We could all use such inspiration, you must share! :P
Have a wonderful time and come back renewed.
bear_laugh Lisa, I am working on it.  I will definitely have one up soon.
and THANK YOU to all of you for your sweet comments about the avatar.
Isn't Shelli great?  she is one of the most generous women I have ever know....in everyway!
Nanc..........
NancyAndFriends
Amanda...that sounds like a wonderful place, I would love it I know....but I have to ask, CANDY FLOSS?
Gives flossing your teeth a whole new meaning !:D
Nanc......
NancyAndFriends
No, but I miss her and where has Eileen gone to, too?
NancyAndFriends
Judi...I have a friend who made an adorable business card holder to sell on ebay and to illustrate it, she placed her own card in the holder.  Now, mind you, you could not see her web address on the card, but ebay shut the auction down anyway.  There was no way that anyone could have ever seen the tiny print on her card.
I know that many people are getting tired of the high cost of ebay.  My last yorkie that I sold cost me 42.00 in fees (listing and final) ...OUCH!!
Here is a site that a bunch of ebay power sellers got together to create.    It is an intersting site, if you have a chance or the time...check it out.
It is all about ebay and other sites to sell on.  Some very interesting articles about ebay and their policies that drove these power sellers away.
I have made purchases on IOffer and enjoy going to that auction site quite often.
Hmmm, I wonder why the link didn't turn blue?  Hope you can copy/paste it and it will take you to the site.
Boy, if it doesn't show up, I am going to pout all night!!!:lol:
What do you all think?  Is this not the most adorable avatar?
Sending, huggies, squeezies, kissies, smoochies and every other 'issie' in between ... to you Shelli.
Thank you not only for your talent in creating this, but your time as well.  I know it takes a lot of time to do something like this and I am sooooo grateful.
Nanc....
Keeping fingers crossed that it shows up and I didn't botch it up. bear_rolleyes
NancyAndFriends
Kim...I don't really watch how many people look at my auctions as much as I check how many have placed a watch on it.  But this is even getting to where you get false readings.  It seems the higher the price, the more lookers and watchers I get, but it really doesn't mean anything, just nosey I guess.
Two things I have noticed tho...when I get a lot of emails telling me they really like whatever is on, the auction never goes off for what I expect it to.  It is like it 'curses' the auction...ahahahahaha!  When I get emails now, I think...OH NO !!
The other thing that I have noticed is that everytime I go somewhere and leave the house for a day, I come home and have bids.  I LOVE my little outings :D
Nanc.....
NancyAndFriends
All of your posts are so interesting.
Sue Ann...my mother did cross word puzzles up until she passed away (from an ulcer no one knew she had)...but mom always said she did the puzzles to 'excercise her brain' and let me tell you at 85 she was as smart as a whip.  She was always discussing politics, she could hold her own in any conversaton, very brilliant woman.  I miss her so much it hurts.
Dilu, I am so sorry to hear your headache is coming back.  Could you tell me where the pain is?  Listen to me...your're the nurse but I am curious.
Daphne, IBS is such an awful thing to have.  I had a friend who had it and learned quite a bit about it.
There are over 100 different disorders that are linked to the systemic effects of IBS.  With all of the tests that have been done on your father, I am sure he has been checked for Crohn's disease, diverticulitis, lactose intolerance and ulcerative colitis.
Pain is often triggered by eating.  The accumulation of the material in the digestive tract can affect the entire gastrointestinal tract from the mouth to the colon....but because eating aggrevates it a person with IBS may dread eating and even if they do eat normally malnutrition may result because nutrients often are not absorbed properly.
His body requires about 30% more protein than normal as well as increased intake of minerals and trace elements...which of course can be depleted by diarrhea.
If he uses antibiotics, antiacids or laxatives, it will totally disrupt the bacterial microflora of the bowel and that is a contributing factor to  IBS
. Lifestyle factors such as stress and diet can be common causes and I have read they are studying a link to virus and bacterium playing a leading role in IBS.
So many of his other problems can be directly related to IBS...as I said over 100 different disorders have been linked to IBS.
I didn't mean to ramble...but you just never know where something helpful will come from.  My friend has hers almost completely gone, but it has taken a lot of work and figuring things out.
some people whith IBS have abnormalities in their levels of liver enzymes in their blood.  I wonder if anyone checked him for that?
Ok, I am getting off my box now.
Like Dilu...I will keep you all in my prayers! and I mean that with all my heart.
Shelli is completely right...there is no dumping here...we are all here to help in anyway we can, even if that means just being a good listener.
Hugs to everyone,
Nanc.........
