For artists and collectors sponsored by Intercal...your mohair supplier and Johnna's Mohair Store
Hi,
Glad it wasn't just me who saw the programme.
Julie. have you managed to see the programme yet. It was good to see bearmaking on TV.
Karon
Hi Therese,
Gosh, didn't he get to you quickly - now I can breathe a sigh of relief - I always worry about them being lost in the mail.
I tried not to make him TOO Christmasy, so you can keep him in your collection throughout the year!
Glad you like him.
I can't wait to receive my ornament - hopefully, it is winging its way from wherever.
Love
Karon
Hi there!
Last week there was a series of one hour programmes aired about making your own decorations, presents etc. presented by a lady called Kirste Allsop.
On one of the programmes she made a mohair teddy with the ladies of Alice's Bearshop.
I thought it was really nice to see a bear being made on TV and I hope it will encourage others to give it a go - the more publicity us bear makers get the better. It is the best way of getting others into the fold.
Karon
Hi Dawn
I am glad you are going to restart the letter page in TBT - it was always one of my favourite bits but sank into oblivion over the last year.
Would you also consider bear making challenges -also finding a few people to draw up a pattern once in a while. A meerkat pattern would be nice (ha!)
Also how about a penpal?email pal section?
Karon
Hi there,
My swap recipitants bear has been mailed today. Can't wait to see if they like it.
karon
I do understand how you used to get teary by Meerkat Manor. I cried last week when "Suggs" died after protecting Flower's babies (and baby sitter Sophie) after they entered a snake's burrow.
Did you know Dawn that there is a book on Meerkat Manor called "Meerkat Manor - Flower of the Dessert". If so do you have it?
Karon
Hi there,
Thankyou both for your replies.
Yes I agree Lee Ann it is hard sometimes when something happens to them. Fortunately I missed the epsisode when Flower dies - bitten by a snake. Next to Shakespeare she was my favourite. I also love Zaphod her mate, who was the dominant male, but with demise of Flower he has now been demoted - apparently Zaphod is about TEN years old. That must be a great age for a wild animal.
Thanks Jaina for telling me that you think brave Shakespeare survived the Lazulite invasion together with the babies. How sad though he died from a snake bite - I remember earlier on he almost died from a bite but managed to survive.
I absolutely adore "The Manor" - it is like an on-going soap opera.
If anyone else knows anything about Shakespeare I would be most grateful.
Karon
I love "Meerkat Manor" but only get to see it intermittently.
Can anyone help me? My favourite Meerkat in the original was Shakespeare. The last I saw of him he was on "baby sitting duties" while the others went out looking for food.
At the end of the programme the Lazulite Gang arrived and went down the burrow he was guarding - did Shakespeare and the babies survive.
I loved Shakespeare he was such a brave Meerkat - but I missed a few episodes and never found out the result.
Karon
Hi Mel,
Don't mean to put on the pressure but when will you be emailing our swap person's name to us.
Can't wait to see who I've got!!
Karon
dear Melissa
Hi there.
Little worried as I have not heard from you yet and I did esperience problems emailing you, the first attempt "came back".
Would you confirm that you got it OK - my email address is teddylady123@hotmail.co.uk. If you did not receive it could you add me.
Karon
I would like to join.
Would it be possible for the person who gets my name to take photo of their ornament to post though, as I don't understand how to do.
unless of course I get the hang of it by that time!!
Loved the Summer Swap.
Karon
I now have Beth's bear to me - you can release his photo now Beth!!
I am absolutely THRILLED with hin. He is beautifully made and a REAL character. I have called him "Bumble" as he reminds me of a bumble bee who has nosed dived into a flower bed. His expression is fantastic!
Thankyou so much for him Beth and for being a great partner.
When can we do the next Swap - what about a "Autumm" theme - all those lovely colours! Are well, just an idea!
Thanks again Beth, lovely, lovely bear.
Karon

You have confirmed what I thought, it was a bargain!
If I have any teething problems I will ask for your help.
Karon
Hi there.
I have just joined the "Feather Weight Club".
I went on a course to do Mixed Media and they had two for sale.
It cost £75.00 - have I got a bargain? As you folk are always raving about them I thought I had better take advantage and purchase one.
It is really sweet, circa 1950, in its original case with its original receipt for £3.00 something!!!
Karon
Jane,
Can you help me. I think it is issue 38 of TBCI has a pattern for "Oakley" a pattern I made for Oakley Fabrics.
I would love the original magazine and have it along side the original Oakley which I bought back when Oakley Fabrics finished.
Karon
