I went to a local gun store and was able to purchase SS shot....10 lbs cost about $28.

I don't know how they were made but here are two pics I found

I'm pleased for California that they passed that. Disappointed in their step backwards with Proposition 8 though.

I love the Sassy fabrics as well. Don't forget to check out her threads though, especially the little spools of nylon threads. The best I've ever used - I used them for all my bears.

It was lovely weather here as well but as usual we had about 8 kids come. We live in the country so only a couple of the neighbours brought their kids. I have candy left over and will send it to the neighbour next door - hunting season is starting Monday and they'll need goodies to keep them going!

My bears are mainly 12 - 15" and I hand sew. I do have a good sewing machine but I LIKE to hand sew in front of the tv. Just a personal preference.

Goodness - that sounds like a small crowd to me! I had 25 at our Thanksgiving dinner this year and that was considered a small gathering. As the oldest of 11 and with my Dad living with us - everyone gathers at our farm....often!!
I often do the turkey the day before and then that's out of the way. We have our own beef and pork so I often do several roasts and of course, a large pot of macaroni and cheese and one of chili so that takes care of lunch.
Have fun!

Love your paintings...especially the first one - I can just see that print up on the wall in my kitchen!
I also enjoy knitting and used to make a lot of clothing but not so much anymore. Bearmaking has pretty well taken up my spare time.

I would imagine this would only work if you had an enormous mailing list to bring collectors in to check it out. I agree that ebay is not a friendly place but have had only good things happen at Nancy's Bid4bears site. The more of us that use it - the better it will be.

I think it would be too bulky too. If you look at this tutorial though - she glues the ends: http://www.monicasattictreasures.com.au … tions.html
actually I have wrapped wire - I get it from the co-op or garden supply stores .... used for tying up plants so it's soft.
Thanks for sharing ladies....for some reason I was thinking you'd have to only use loc-line for a full internal armature. Nice to know about alternatives.
I suspect one of my Boston's was stung last weekend. He came home after a good run in the field and was very quiet and lathargic for most of the rest of the day - which is unusual for him. I found a small lump on his muzzle that looked like a bee sting. It wasn't serious enough for the vet but I was keeping a close watch on him.

I wouldn't be surprised if your polar bear ate Santa to get that outfit Kelly,
congrats,

I bought them as well several months ago - much cheaper than getting them at the store.
I got that Walmart one as well and it works great. I bought the laminating sheets in the size I wanted on eBay for a very good price.

I find it depends on the type of mohair I'm using if I have to trim seams or not. Definitely on the plush dense types though.

good idea Daphne. I think there is some glue-type spray that quilters use - I wonder if spraying the flannel with that before you put the knit on top would help as well.
Marion
well deserved - he is great!

It's a fun and safe place to play
I've got two bears ready and hopefully another couple in the next month!

I think someone is just trying to stir up trouble and make you feel bad.
I always have fun scrolling through your cruise ship posts and hoping you included me!!
Keep up the great work,

I'm 39! I'm going home to re-check my birth certificate and notifying my husband of my new age.
