Thank you for the information!  I think I am just being paranoid.  My email said she wanted to order my bear and included her full name, address, phone and email number.  Since this is my first time selling in a long time and on Bearpile I was curious if anyone had that experience.

hugs...
Cindy

I have never sold on Bearpile before so I have a question.  Has anyone ever received a bogus email order?

Monty is adorable and so is your bear, Sue!

Hi Cyndee...  I have not had the chance to meet you yet as I just returned to bear making after a 5 year absence.  I wish you a full and speedy recovery!

Great Bear, Jaina!  I am sure you can find that mohair on one of the supplier sites.  It appears to be a strait mohair and I would not think to hard to find.  If I see any among my surfing, I will let you know.

Bear Hugs,
Cindy

Great slide show!  Your cats look more real than my real cats, Karen!!!  Your talent is truly a gift from God!

Thank you Daphne!  I looked at the essential home page and thought it was not necessary as I have photoshop but just to be sure I wanted to ask those that may have more knowledge than I did.   As for the blog...I will tackle that later.  Thank you for the link.  I hurt my shoulder and am doing it all one armed right now so I am a little slow.  I really appreciate your help.

Ariane...I am sorry if I misunderstood what you were asking about previously?    I had not heard about Essentials and was also asking about it earlier.  Thanks to Daphne's help, we have found out about it together.

Absolutely Adorable!

Thanks SueAnn!

Thank you all!  When I was making bears a few years ago, we sold mainly on Ebay. That was easy because we determined  a starting bid and let the prospective buyers dictate the final price through bidding.  The venues that are used now I have to determine a price.  I am having problems with figuring out what to ask.  I am basically starting over in the biz.  I am a virtual unknown...again,  and have to rebuild a reputation. I know the hours I put in on him but don't want to ask too much to frighten buyers away until they get to know my work.  Grrrrr......!

Again, thank you for your positive comments!! It really helps!

Hugs,
Cindy

The Cave or Essentials?  I asked for help regarding Essentials which is a Microsoft Live program that I had not heard of and I also commented on blogs.  I said I felt as if I had been in a cave because I have been away from bear making for five years and there are so many changes.  So now I have company in that cave because others feel the same as I do.

So, Ariane, if you feel that way too...come join us in the cave.   Does that answer your question?  It started out as a cry for help and now we are on a quest for information.   bear_wacko

Hi Ariane,

Here is a link to a book that may help you define 'traditional'.  Maybe someone you know has this book you could borrow.  It is helpful in defining what a traditional bear looks like.  Sounds like your friend has some definite ideas as to what she wants.  Maybe you could show her some photos and she could show you what she has in mind and you could avoid the frustration of guessing.  Hope this helps.

Welcome, Janet.  Good to know I am not alone.

Hi Everyone,
I had not heard of Windows Live Essentials until Amy mentioned it in her post.  Duh...I feel like I have been in a cave for awhile.  So many new things to learn and I appreciate the advice and help you have already given me and I don't like being a pest but......

Have you used Essentials and do you like it?  Can anybody give me a rating..either pro or con and any information or opinion you may have.  I am trying to evaluate it to determine if it something that would be helpful.   I have never created a blog.  Do you feel blogs are helpful for your bear business?   Thanks again for your help.

Hugs,
Cindy

biker-bear-013web.jpgbiker-bear-033-web.jpgbiker-bear-045-web.jpgMy first bear since 2005.  I forgot how much fun it is to make these guys.  He doesn't have a name yet.  I hope to get him listed by Monday but we will see.  I can see that I need to adjust my photo size....

huggleybear

He is absolutely adorable, Melisa!!!  Great job!!!

Thank you Eva!  I appreciate your help.  Your bears are awesome and I look forward to getting to know you.

Allison, Again..thank you.

A soon as I take some pictures of the little guy, I will post one here for sure.  I opened an Etsy account and do have a FB account to keep in touch with family and friends since I moved so I am somewhat familiar with it.  Putting him on Daphne's FB site looks very good too.  I am certainly going to give a closer look at Bearpile too.  I ran out of time last night to do that.  May own store on FB might have to wait until I can offer more bears.  I sure like that we have more options for selling our bears than we did 5-6 years ago.  Oh..and that blog thing... I haven't a clue.  So much to do and so little time..ha..ha.  But it is all fun and life is good!!

Hugs,
Cindy

Thank you all for your wonderful help.  I have a bear made but no site to put him up for sale yet. I know I could put him on Ebay but not sure I want to.  I have to give it some thought.  Guess I better get busy on that.  Wanted to say you guys are great.....as always.

Big Bear Hugs!!

Janice...SueAnn!  Hi!  Thanks for the help and warm welcome back.  I have a lot of catching up to do.  The good thing is that I am not working and can devote more time getting started than I had five years ago.  I have been checking out Ebay and noticed the change as far as how many bears are listed in relation to how many are not being sold.  I have a facebook account to keep in touch with friends and family and noticed the bear artist sites which are great and seem like a great idea.  I had not thought of Etsy and will check out the web maker site.  I am not html savvy either and really don't want to learn it at this stage of my life.  And Ariane suggested Bearpile.  Well, you have certainly given me the support I need..thank you very much!  I will check out every thing you have suggested and probably have many more questions before I get started.

Thank you!!!!
Big Bear Hugs,
Cindy
