Teddy Talk has been a life line at points. Last year I was'nt as 'upbeat' as I should have been and it was great to come here. I feel loads better and now and am enjoying trying new things like websites, and even making bears! Theres a novelty, you know, finish a bear.
I don't get to check everything out but I do like to check in from time to time! Have I really posted 488 times? Thats what it says.
Hiya Brigid. There is a post about this. Have a look, but it might be hard to find as we do talk a bit! I get mine from Sassys. It takes about a week to come.

I have had some stuff off ebay too. Don't get the short pile as you will get loads better results with the longer pile. Love your website. Let us know how you go on and 'speak to you soon', Mandy.
I got mine off Sassy! Very small. My bears above are 2 1/2 to 2 3/4" but the limbs are even smaller if you get what I mean. I turn them with scissor type things I got with my forceps. Just leave a bigger gap opening, in fact I sew just over half of the body then ladder stitch up after.
Shout it out! We don't do quiet here! Well done.
Oh Judi... I remember when I told Amy our dog Ben had died. It was'nt good. We had to wait until she came home from school. All I can say is plenty of hugs and talking about it helped. As for the bear, its hard but at least your talent can help ease the situation money wise.
Hang in there its not going to be a good day but you will come through it...
Bobby was on ebay before Christmas. Go to my feedback on ebay if you want to see more, its the 19th December one. I hope you are OK. One way to lose weight Kim! No fun though.
Talking of no one here but us chickens, I've found it hard to try and get everything done. I was lucky the website did'nt take too long. The next one will be long, hard and a hang in there experience, I just know it.

So here it is my first website. It took me half a day to do. Now all I need to do is a about me page for ebay. It is OK to put your website link in there? I hope so! Any how it was Penny who spurred me on. She had offered to help/do a website for me using yahoo geocities. What a pal. I am going to try and do it myself but might need some help Penny.
This one will do until then as it could take me months. Its free and to get rid of the pop-ups is quite cheap, I'll get around to that. You pick templates and just edit your information and photos in. Even Amy (10 years) has started to do her own one. You can even get into the html (as I did to insert a link that was not on the template) to add extras like music. There is a great help forum too.
Well I'll see how it goes, but so far so good!

Heres the sign up page for those who are interested. The company is 2cuk but I found it hard to get any information unless you sign up. Please email me if you need to know anymore details.
Some great ideas put into the fur so to speak. Its one thing having an idea, its another doing it! Great stuff!!!!
I finally got round to using very small cotterpins. I used them on these two critters. They are the smallest I could find. I left a big back opening so I could get them in. I never did get very good at string jointing. Anyone else use them? They are not too bad to use. They were about 4mm!
I like the pink background too. I think I know what's not quite right as I had this problem. Is it mainly lit from the left hand side/front? I had this. Still do to a certain extent. You need a light above and from both sides. Shelli pointed this out when I asked for advice. Its hard work getting it anywhere near right. Good luck from someone still trying!
What a horrid thing to happen. I loved my swap bear and visa versa, but... If I did'nt I would never say and then I bet the bear would grow on me, it always will if its make with loving intentions. Thing is she has'nt, for whatever reason, got much love to give. Not nice, but you're safe here I would hang with us!
I'm not much for the New Year thing . I just like to move forward and just get on with it, too much looking back, but all I can say is thanks to you all for letting me see a way forward with my bears. Yep thats the way to go. Cheers me dears!!! Into the New Year we all go, together!!!
Great post. Yes I do sell myself short sometimes, BUT I believe, like Helena I need to get myself out there. I don't do fairs or shops anymore so ebay is my only choice. Funny thing though, I recently sold a few bears and the ones I was pleased with did well and the ones I was a bit 'off with' did'nt do as well. Just shows you really.
It has also shown me the way to go. I do small bears, cute small ones and big bears. The cute small ones seemed to do the best. It may not stay that way, we shall see. I have got to get back on there after the Christmas break so it will be interesting to see what happens. By the way I always start at $0.99, which is a big risk, but one I was (maybe not now, we will see in the new year) prepared to take. Its a gamble!
We got a Dell. We ordered online and got it at a fantastic price. There was a code in a computer magazine that you used to get extra discount. We have not seen cheaper since, even with Dell. I would get one of those What computer mags that they do. We paid £301. The ones at all the schools are Dell too, so I suppose they get some hammering.
I run a slimming club after losing 70lb (5 stone) and I have kept it off for nearly 7 years. I get really busy in January as you can imagine, BUT by mid February where have half of them gone? Make small changes that you can keep, not the all or nothing kind of thing. Best to do the small changes than big ones that seem to make you lose weight but then you can't keep them up. Good luck everyone, hang in there!
Ther was an article in the newspaper yesterday saying we start and finish Christmas too early. For me I feel I need to keep it going. I usually take them down (a job I hate) when Amy goes back to school which is next Tuesday. So I will probably take them down Monday. In Europe they have a big celebration later, in Scotland New Years Eve is a biggy. Don't worry its up to us all how we play it, as long as you enjoy it!
Good on you. I can't believe it Christmas Eve. I've still got to get some presents, but it does'nt matter if I don't. Hurray for egg nog!
Thanks. You will be getting Christmas ahead of us. I'm just having a morning coffee, then after lunch my daughter and I go to town, have a meal and get some bargains in the early sales. Its off to the parents to deliver presents, then crack the wine open later. This will be the first year I don't play Santa as Amy is ten, and knows the know. All good things come to an end. Penny is my Santa this year, as I've got my swap bear to open. Have a good one!
Yes a Merry Christmas one and all! Like a few of you I will be busy, but I will think of you all.
Its lovely when things come together. I've had a downer about where I live for the past year, because of the neighbours, but they are lots better, or rather I am too and things always seem to work out. You willl feel loads better. I can understand why you feel so good!
I can almost feel the vibes here. What a lovely, hardworking girl she is. It makes you feel so good when your children achieve something. I felt good this morning just because my daughter was not being a 'brat' like some of the kids were. Its the small steps that can take you far. Give her a well done from us!
I was thinking about this. Although I have been not so much as busy, but under the weather (only a bad cold) I've managed to finish a raccoon. I suppose there will be loads of bear people off for the holidays wanting a bear fix? Could be worth it for us. Still I need to get some photos done, and the shopping and other things... Achoo!!! Amanda doing a very good impression of Rudolph.
I go shopping with my daughter, Amy, Christmas eve in the afternoon. We have a pub meal and get the first sales bargains. In the evening when Amy has gone bed I have a glass of wine or two and order a curry for later.
Christmas morning its chocolate for breakfast then a traditional Christmas lunch with my mum and dad coming mine this year. At teatime they take Amy to my brother's for the evening while I slob out with my hubby. We usually stay up late watching old movies. Last year we were outside throwing snowballs!
Boxing day we walk up my mum and dads where we have lunch and tea, and my brother and his family also come too.
We usually have my mother-in-law down Christmas day but she is going her other son's. The thing I enjoy is staying up late, old movies and just the general feeling of Christmas. Also a great night out or two, dancing and drinking and everyone in a good mood. I've missed the church service this year at Amy's church as we were working but I usually enjoy that.
Then I look forward to our wedding anniverary break in January which this year will be in Bath. The place, not the tub! I hope you are all with your loved ones and look forward to a very Teddy Talking New Year.
I have had the experience of a competition, not bears, but in another way. Its was to do with my slimming club job. All I'm going to say on the matter was I would not have chosen some of the finalists! As in a lot of things its got 'politics' written all over it. It sometimes depends what they are looking for that year and like lots of things never quite seem fair. There thats my grumble over. You know what we think of your bears, the proof is in the selling I say! You win hands down for that!
Cheers me dears. Bottoms up!
