Ohhhhhhhhh Judi, Max is beautiful ! ! ! Of course his new mom loves him. Looks so soft, I want to rub him against my cheek (the one on my face). (The "soft" test I use on yarn for scarves.)
Congratulations Jared, the car and the job. Pretty exciting to have a new car with that new car smell and all the bells and whistles.
I got one of those unsolicited catalogues in the mail the other day (it was Dollmasters) and as I was thumbing through, behold, your vege bunnies, then your mom's bears. Cool ! ! !
Well, here in northern California, we do get snow. I live at about 1400 feet elevation so we don't get it here. Last year we had a dusting. But only 10 miles up the road in Grass Valley & Nevada City, they are at about 2500 ft and get snow every year. Then, of course, on up the highway is Tahoe & Truckee. They get PLENTY of snow. There are several ski resorts there. Squaw Valley (between Truckee and Tahoe) is where they held the 1960 winter Olympics. (a bit of history) Anywhere above 2500 to 3000 ft elevation will get snow.
Here's our little dusting in March 2006:
Paige snowboarding about an hour from our home.
I wonder how you get a squirrel to sit still for that?????
Christmas shopping????? I haven't started yet. For the last few years, my kids email me their wish list. I haven't received them yet. But last year I bought my son-in-law an Amazon.com gift certificate since he had a bunch of CD's and DVD's on his list. That was easy.
I like to order online for Tracy (older daughter) and her husband since they live across country. Sometimes I take Paige (younger daughter) shopping and buy her the clothes she likes then wrap them up and put them under the tree. I quit buying clothes for either one of them unless they pick it out. Last year she wanted things like crock pot, tea kettle etc. since she had moved into her own place. This year ?????
I was born and raised in northern California. These results look like they're typical of the west coast folks who answered above.
Here's mine:
70% General American English
15% Upper Midwestern
10% Yankee
Thank you so much, Gemma and Tammy. I'm taking Judi's felted faces class now. I think it's going to be fun.
Thank you, thank you, all ! ! ! I had fun making this little guy.
Fun, fun, fun.   My email has been sent.
I do crochet and I have been able to follow some patterns but it's not easy for me. I'd love to be able to crochet little sweaters and hats for my bears. An online class would be great.
Thank you, thank you all ! ! !
OMG . . . beautiful, magical ! ! ! !
Thank you, thank you, Sandy and Dilu ! ! ! !
Thank you, Jodi. You are a sweetie ! ! ! !
Jodi, I've got one ready to cut out using Sassy fabric. Can't wait for that, it's so soft. I have to finish the big one I'm working on first, though.
Penny, Yosemite is as beautiful as your pictures. I've been there a few times as we live only a couple hours away. It is breathtaking. Imagine . . . people climb the face of El Capitan and sleep overnight on these little cots that attach to the side of the rock ! ! ! ! They have a mountain climbing gear store there and I couldn't believe the things they sell to climb that rock.
The place I want to go is Tuscany. hmmmmm . . . . someday.
love to put on cds like "John Denver and the Muppets"
When my oldest daughter was little, that was our favorite Christmas album (on vinyl even). I just a couple days ago ordered the CD on amazon and had it shipped to her in TN. I told her today to expect a package. I can't wait for her to get it. She'll love it, I know.
I like to put up my Christmas decorations as soon as I take down my Thanksgiving decorations. I have a lot of them since I have a big crowd every year for Thanksgiving dinner. My tree usually goes up in the first week of December. I figure it takes so much effort to get everything out that I might as well enjoy it for as long as I can.
Thank you girls. Encouragement is great ! Tammy, I hope you try NF'ing again. Once you get the hang of it, it really is fun. I just finished another bear and I'm thinking of my next one . . . after I finish the mohair bear I'm working on. I have to try to stay focused or I'd have ten projects going at once and never finish any of them.
Oh yes . . . I love to vacuum the spiders up with my central vac. Hubby empties it once a month. I keep waiting . . .
One time my hubby hit me in the face in the middle of the night. I let out a scream that woke the kids up. When I realized it was him who hit me and not a burglar, I asked hubby, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" and my hubby said "Oh never mind." He didn't remember it in the morning.
I go to "Show new posts since last visit". All subjects are there. I don't miss anything.
I have this birthday card in my stash, waiting for the person with the right sense of humor to send it to:
Lulu, I think Birdie is adorable. I would love to add him to my hug.
Sandi, my daughters are 5 years apart. It's been great. Tracy has always been protective of Paige and Paige has always looked up to Tracy. Now they are both in their 20's (22 and 27) they are best friends. I think it's a great age split, also far enough apart that they didn't fight. This is what you'll have to look forward to:
Isn't that sweet???
