Hello all,
We are back from our little trip and the washing machine has been started up so it is back to reality. I took the needlefelting gear away with me and managed to make these 3 little bears.
Nelson the polar cub, Micky and finally Gemma the bunny rabbit.
The needlefelting gear was great to take because you don't need to take all the other bits for normal bears. Fibre, eyes and ribbons are all I took.
Also I took along some completed bears and sold 3 so that was a real buzz.
Glad to be back though.. Off to Melbourne to see the Dixie Chicks tonight....
Oh, what a little sweetheart. I love the shading on her eyes...
Okay, here is my story.
I knew my husband at high school but he was always chasing other girls. I left school and was working at a department store and had not seen him for a long time. My Mums church group started up a Friday night dance in the church hall and I was selling the soft drink when lo and behold he came up to the stall. We had a couple of dances and he asked to walk me home. Now as this was a church dance there had to be an adult to supervise and this night it was my Mum. I went and told her that "Bluey" (he has red hair) had asked to take me home and Mum said thats okay but wait for me. Shock, horror, what would he think with my Mum tagging along. Needless to say I did not wait for Mum and he walked me home. We didn't live far from the church hall and we were leaning on our fence when Mum came around the corner. All she said as she went inside was, about time you came inside Denise. That was in 1967, he was called up into the army in 1968 and did all of 1969 in Vietnam. We got married in 1970, so we celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary this year.
Not all smooth sailing and the army service has a lot to do with that, but we are hanging in there....
Daphne, everything that is crossable is crossed for you and Henry. Heaps of positive thoughts and vibes I send to you......good luck.
Ribit, ribit. just kidding. Thanks Sandi. I can feel my arm going futher up my back. Since reading Hayleys post I have not thought of anything else but, May, Teddy show. Even mentally counting how many bears to make each month leading up to May.
This little holiday we are embarking on on Friday will give me lots of time to decide.
Will have a decision when we return on the 16th October. Off to see the Dixie Chics in concert in Melbourne on the 17th. so will catch up with all about the 18th..
Congratulations Peta...
Thanks Hayley, May could be an option. Will keep in touch with you on how to get a table, costs and all that sort of stuff.
Thanks for the information and the boost to my confidence. Must make a trip to the Island and catch up with you before Christmas.
I have come down to earth now. Hayley, my hubby reckons I should have a table at the next bear show BUT, my confidence is not that high after seeing all of yours and others at Springvale. Although I haven't decided not to, but have sent to the maybe part of my brain......think about it Denise...
Thanks everyone,
Great name for a cat. Actually our maltese cross dog is called Tuppence so that is where Tuppies Teddies comes from..
Poor bear, but he looks great, I would love one like that in my garden.
Love your avater Claire, she says hello....one beautiful bear...
Karen, it was great to meet you too.
Hubby and I are off on a caravan trip on Friday to S.A for a caravanners rally.
We are meeting people that my husband chats to on a caravanners forum. It is so nice to meet the people that we have been chatting with online. We feel that we know them well even though the majority we have never met.
Just like the teddy forums.
Thanks for the thoughts Arieanna.
I have just sold my first bear from my website. Have been selling on e-bay but this is the first from the website.
The little bear will be living in Kuala Lumpa, Malaysia. I am so stoked.
Congratulations and well done.....
Hi Sheila, great to see that you are doing the needlefelting. It is addictive as I have been bitten by the bug too. Have made a 3" Panda and now I am starting a bunny.
How is sebastian going, has he settled in.
Gladys, you have been so busy and they are all terrific. We have Jodie to blame for this. Usually I have new bear ideas racing around in my head, now it is different brooch designs,
What a magniicent piece. If only I had the $$$$$$......
Well, I am hooked too. Thanks Jodie for the pattern, I delved into my jars, boxes, draws, and shelves and found lots of things I can use on other pins. I even found some brooch pins that I had bought ages ago.
Well, here goes everyone my first one....
I added the Account guard after I recieved an email from e-bay ( it wasn't ) saying there had been some illegal traffic in my Pay pal account and they had suspended the account until I updated my account. Yes, it said click on this link and update your account. I did click on it (silly me ) but a window came up saying this was not a proper e-bay or paypal account, report this to e-bay.
Now, as a few have said, I only answer mail directly from "my messages" in e-bay...
Thanks Cloe for fore warning us about this scam. I have account guard on my e-bay account which shows up green when you are on a real e-bay site. It is in the e-bay tool bar...
Gladys, what a beaut bear and the fur colour is devine. His ribbon around his neck sets him off beautifully.
Connie, what a wonderful bear and the little one next to him is a cute as apple pie...
Thanks Nancy, he was a bit fuzzy so trimmed him a bit. Fuzzy doesn't show with the naked eye but in the first pics he was very furry....
I think I am starting to get the hang of needlefelting.
This is a little Panda I have just finished.
I can remember having the malt too, don't know why maybe builing up the iron!!!!
Gaby, I think your bear is terrific, your collegue I think is from a different planet.
I wouldn't make her another one either...
