Huh! Now I know why I remember the shop in Herford!
The dragon fly paper!!! I think they use it and I kept some for a while....lovely-jovely
Gaby
Penny, WICKED!
This looks wayyyyyy cool!
I cheke ebay and foud some which I consider cheap : http://cgi.ebay.de/4-Double-Slide-Maile … dZViewItem
I won´t buy them; I had bad experience with customs fees when buying something from overseas, but I´ll have a look in the craft shop I know.
You really have incrediblly good ideas! Amazing!
That reminds me: I used to love shopping in a shop in Hertford that I went to when my ex drove me there ( never dared driving on the " wrong" side of the road )
I´m pretty sure you know it, they sell fairies and flowers and candles, silver and fat ladies in floating tyres and all sorts of things, but I have no idea what it was called.
Just plain lovely and cuddly and old fashioned.

Maybe you remember my question a few weeks ago, if I should give my old teddy a make over.
Wellllll, after loooong thinkings I did.
(My old teddy had previousely mentioned, that he wanted to go on a ship cruise which I refused to support; for him money is not an issue)
The operation on his eyes did take longer than I thought, because the eyes were somehow melted into the fabric and I was afraid of breaking it.
I have bought him real nice new ones and after putting them in and sewing a wee tear on the back of his head he just looke great!
And eversince then we had so much fun together, like in the old days
My second before last new teddy is a very shy but lovely teddy girl called Clairchen, who not only is very shy but very curious and had watched me in awe operating.
My old teddy´s first new glimps fell upon Clairchen and he fell in love with her at first sight. She being the shy one first hid behind me but always peeked out from there.
My old teddy refuses to be called "my old teddy" any longer, and begged to make him look newer, so I rubber his fur gently with carpet cleaner. The lady in the teddy shop where I bought his new eyes had told me, to watch out not to wet the fabric, since he has old woodwool in him and that might give spots then.
After letting the foam dry for several hours I vacuumed him from head to toe. He is very ticklish and it took hours to finish; we giggled the whole time.
Next thing I´ll do is give him a rejuvenating cure in the freezer. ( I told him, it was to get the wringles away, but actually, it´s to get the bugs away ...in case he has some)
And after that he gets new paws. He chose the new felt for the paws himself. The color is quite similar to the old one.
To give you an idea of how he looks now, I added a photo, and also a foto with him and Clairchen.
Cheeses! They are smooching on my sofa the whole day long!
Have a great sunday
Gaby
Tracey, thanx, she´s tough and cute! And sure, I´m cute lots oif cute because there´s lots of me
The suspence is killing me: WHEN WILL WE SEE YOUR ANIMEBEAR????
Renae, Raggae anime is gorgeous! I hope you´re not gonna tim anything!!!
Gaby
I´m giggling here, because compare to the others in the gallery Yoko Yumi looks like a sumo wrestler  ...why do my teddies look like me!??
Gaby
I was never fond of anime bears, but I have to admit, that some in the challenge gallery are really cute!
Before I post my "anime" bear I have to apologize  : I´m sorry, but I can´t.
I can´t make a teddie with tiny arms, that won´t allow him to open a box of choccies! No way! I had to take the anime arms and legs out again, because it is against my considered opinion, that teddies need to have long huggable arms
So this is not a hardcore anime teddy: Yoko Yumi, born yesterday. This is the closest mine get to anime
Gaby
Shantell, apart from the big disks I found out, that, when placing the arm a bit further down from the head, it stays flatter to the side. ( I hope you understood what I was trying to explain)
Because then you have a wee shoulder, that you can stuff and build a base for the flatt side of the arm, and by doing this, you can either make the arm stand out or lay flat to the body.
Does that make sense?
Help! Can anybody translate this into English?? Sorry, that´s as good as it gets...
Gaby
Sewzanne, I am sad. You don´t need to feel funny; it honors you to feel for others. The poor boy´s family must be devastated and I hope they find their peace! Nothing worse could happen than loosing a child.
Gaby
Sue Anne, brilliant!!!! Thanx for sharing these exciting pix with us! We hardly have any birds left here, so I have nothing to watch anymore.
And bluebirds are not known here anyway...
Melissa, I´ll post you some pix because for me spring is the nicest time of the year.
You can really feel life coming back to the world. Especially afer this last long and cold winter I was yearning for the first messengers of spring.
One is a foto I took right after the first leaves of tulips came up. Sometimes you can find a itty bitty tiny leave growing it´s way right through an old leave that was left from last year. I think it is amazing, how much power and will to live these little flowers have! Incredible! They find their way, no matter what. Guess, we humans should do as they do
And because you ladies are all so nice....one for y´all!
Have a smashing spring!
Gaby
Aleta is not silly at all!
She´s clever, warmhearted and very talented in artistics :)
She was one of the first to welcome me to TT
Gaby
Daphne, this was a truely wonderful idea of you!
My happiness is to know, that a few hundred kilometres away there is this special someone, who loves me dearly and who I love to pieces. To know this makes me happy and makes me forget the troubles that I sometimes have
And to remind me every morning I have my doxie, who sleeps in bed with me.
She is 13 now and playful and agil and happy as a puppy. When we get up she starts jumping around on the bed, off the bed, around it and on it again like a nutter. She makes me laugh. She´s telling me: come on, come on! Hurry! This is my day! Get going!
I just love it
I wish y´all beautiful thoughts ( they keep the wrinkles away )
Gaby

and: Wien, or Vienna as it is called in English, is the capital of Austria, a tiny country in the heart of Europe.
We only have abt. 8 Mio inhabitants and an increasing number of teddy bears.
If you find the time to sneek a peek : http://info.wien.at/article.asp?IDArticle=9010
Gaby
Winney,
the color that comes out in the end is beautiful! There is a picture in the book showing the before and after of undyed mohair.
The golden onions end in a light orange- apricot and the red ones in a bit more pinkish apricot.#
I couldn´t find any contact in the book so I thought, I´d place my question here ; if I find out more,I´ll let you know
Have a geat saturday!
Gaby
Hi fluffy ladies,
in her book " 101 bears to make" Nancy Tillberg makes me curious about dying with onion peel and also has a recipe BUT...sorry for my stupid question  ( I know, onion peel has been used to dye easter eggs) WHAT do you use to dye, only the most outer peel ( the dryed out parts of the peel) or also the layer(s) below...
Thanx in advance for any answer
Gaby
Daphne,
obviousely oyu don´t sleep deeply enough, because, as I have heard, we always dream while asleep, but we only remember the stories while we´re in a phase of light sleep, which usually happens before we wake up.
Try autogenic training before you got to sleep to completely relax your body and your mind.
When I eat turkey salami, which I leike, I end up having the weirdest dreams and I blame the pork, that is added to this kind of salami.
I wish you sweet dreams ....and try a dreamcatcher...
Gaby
Great!!!
My favorite:

...uuuuhhmmm....I wonder WHAT this poor goldfish was supposed to remember
