Krista,
What precious babies, and mom too! Hat's off to you for your rescue efforts. I have 10 cats now that are all rescues. Fortunately, we live in the country, so they have plenty of room to play.
Be certain that I will keep your aunt in my prayers. Remember "With God all things are possible".
Daphne,
I envy you living among all of the animals. We have many deer, rabbits, hawks etc. We are just beginning to see foxes and coyotes, but no bears or moose. I think that is just awesome to have these creatures so close to you.
This little girl and her family are in my prayers.
Carolyn,
Welcome back. Sounds like you have your hands full remodeling and trying to catch up.
I started my weekend on Friday. My 13 year old niece came on Thursday evening. So Friday morning I took her to town and did some running around. Friday evening we had 7 friends over for dinner (on the grill, it makes much less mess). Today we have a wedding to attend and hopefully we will get to spend some time working with the horses. I am really just supervising with the horses since last weekend's incident that left me with a sprained ankle. Sunday is our laid back day. Go to church and do nothing but eat and relax otherwise.
I guess I am a mean mom. But I get it honestly, my mom was also mean. Unfortunately, many young people today know very little about responsibility and respect.
Count me in for June.
Isn't it just crazy how some bears are not photogenic? I thought that was mostly a human thing. Maybe our bears are more human than we care to admit.
I do not suffer much with allergies except poison ivy, which will just about hospitalize me. I did read though that a natural treatment for allergies is a combination of Quercetin and Bromelain. I found a capsule that combines the two and I have just started taking it because the artical said it is good for those who get poison ivy (that's me). I have not been on it long enough for results yet. It also helps build your immune system so I figure it can't hurt even if it does nothing for allergies.
What a wonderful bear! I love that face.
What a lucky customer. This little bear is adorable.
I hope your vacation is super. You deserve it. I wish I could stow away in your luggage.
Laura,
Thank you so much. I thank God that it was not worse. I actually went under the electric fence instead of on it. I do think that I am getting too old to consider the rodeo as a career. I better stick to bear making.
Dilu,
Welcome back! I expect that with that new knee you'll soon be running a few marathons. I know a few people who have had the replacement operation, and they are all very happy with the results.
Those of you who sell your bears in shops, I have a few questions. I have meant to ask this before, but have been so busy working outside. Now I am laid up for a few days. I was thrown from a horse and sprained my ankle so I am told to stay off of it awhile. That's much easier said than done. I still have animals to feed and things to do. But I am spending more time on the computer and making bears. Fortunately, it's rainy today so I'm not so tempted to be outside. Well, never mind my rambling, on with the questions.
1. Do you sell on commission?
2. How do you go about finding these shops?
3. Is it appropriate to send them a flyer or something with pictures of your bears?
I'll keep you in my prayers.
Daphne,
I have done several dogs in the past. I have had people give me a picture of their dog for me to make a replica. So I guess what I am saying is that I would at least be willing to consider doing more dogs. This is a picture of a peke that I made last year.
This guy is too cute!
Joe is adorable! He has a beautiful face. He looks like my beloved spaniel, Beau, that was a part of my life for years.
Darren,
I wish I had an answer for you, but I also would like to know the answer to this question. This is something that I also am interested in doing.
I am now using truffle because it reminds me of chocolate. And if it's chocolate, it has to be good.
Choice? I didn't know I had a choice. I'm not exactly Miss Computer Genius. Consequently, I am using a blue which is probably very boring compared to what I've read here.
I just dyed some raspberry colored mohair. I know this sounds kind of funky, but I dyed the pieces for the arms, legs and ears with a brown and red mix of Rit dye. I am making a panda that will be dark brown and raspberry (sounds crazy). You can use a dye of coffee or tea if you just want a lighter tone. I say just get your dye and mohair together and have fun.
