That must have been scary but she certainly did the right thing!
I can remember the same thing happening to me a couple of times however and that was over 45 years ago! Unfortuantely this is not a new thing.

I bought the copic airbrush system several years ago - used it a couple of times but was not impressed. Now I'm trying to get up the never to use the proper system I bought last year
I agree with Laurie - just get the Copic pens and use them for shading = make sure you get the blender pen as well.

Ellen - skip the screech! They don't actually drink the stuff themselves - it's just for the tourists. Now if you do like rum though get London Dock - that's the good stuff!
I remember getting cod tongues and cooking them for supper one night. I made sure there was a really good dessert to make sure the kids ate their supper first. Somehow or other none of them made it to my plate
I ditto Tammy with visiting the little villages - they are very colourful and pleasant places (such as Dildo) and yes, the Newfies do speak a different 'version' of English. I'm sure you'll have a great time.

Hi Ellen. We did a road trip through Newfoundland years ago - lovely place. We went in July and camped, took the ferry across at Port aux Basque and drove across the island stopping here and there. We went to Anse aux Meadows to see the Viking settlement and stopped at several lovely Prov Parks here and there. The people in Nfld are marvellous. The weather, on the other hand, was not so marvellous. Lots of rain and coolish temps, and there was no heater on in the ocean.

I use a round soft sided hamper that I believe is for laundry - it has zipped covers at both end. I originally bought it cause I thought it would make a good light tent but now I have several, one for my wool, one for my rovings and one for stuffing. It holds a full tall bag of stuffing that I get at Walmart and fits nicely behind the chair I sew in. I can just reach in and grab what I need and then zip it up when I'm finished. It only cost about $9 at the Great Canadian Superstore.
My third child and first son was breach and I was a little worried since I knew he'd be a big baby. The doctor did not try to turn him and in the end he just straighted out his legs and came out feet first! Thankfully cause he was 9 1/2 lbs! The birth actually went quite well and quick with no complications and my son is now 31!

I don't think felting would work very well with excelsior - your instinct was right there. I would feel the felting would be child safe but wouldn't stand up to too much handling without looking ratty.
Another way to obtain puffy cheeks would be to make separate 'pouches' and then sew them on securely.

That kid is going to feel real bad when he's told to go stay in his room!!!
Marvellous. ....although I think I'd prefer the mouse hole for myself!

I've just made a couple of the larger toddler dinkybabies - fun patterns.

I haven't sold anything on ebay although I do buy things there. I've found lately though that some US sellers won't accept Canadian Paypal payments..something about high fees. I didn't notice this listed in one auction and it cost me double for an item I wanted. I had to get a money order and send it registered post! Was not impressed I can tell you.

If he was just a 'test' then you certainly passed! He is absolutely gorgeous...for a toad!

I also enjoy crochet but had to make a decision about what I liked more and mohair bears won ... altho I'm really enjoying dolls just now as well. I still have my crochet supplies and patterns for little bears so one day....
hah...you may have dated him but I married him!!
I do prefer my bears but the troll was a fun exercise and I'm finding the dolls have a lot of cross-over skills for bear making. Yes, his fingers are wired but not his toes - they are just needlesculpted.
they are all adorable - and I'm still thankful my four came one at a time!

I tried this pattern by Judi Wellnitz and instead of a club - he's holding his teddy and blankie on his way to bed!
I wouldn't by any means consider myself an organized person but I find if I don't spend a couple of three hours in the evening sewing bears I feel I've wasted the evening. I've set up all the tools I need in an area by my easy chair, in front of the tv I must admit, and keep my fingers busy! I do have my sewing room all set up but only do dolls and such in there and generally only on the weekends since I work full time as well.
good for you...and especially for him! Now for a little snip snip visit to the vet and everyone will live happily everafter.

He certainly has a Newfie look to him. One of our favourite dogs was a Newf female who passed away at the advanced age of 13. Great dogs!

Hey Wendy! Pretty soon we can say we 'knew you when'! Congrats and well-deserved.
Marion
If that's a 'puppy' I can just imagine the size when she's a 'dog'!!
Good luck,
Marion
