When I am doing the eyes, ears nose etc...I have not attached the head to the body yet....I like to finish the head completely before I start jointing the bear...
Clare, you have done a wonderful job with this bear.....22" I like him a lot...
I place the eyes first, then embroider the nose and then the placement of the ears....
Thanks Carol...
Katherine what a delightful little kitty, I can see the work you have done, fantastic..
Thanks Brenda, she is a little layback, relaxed bunny. Just kicking back with paw on knees...
Satine has been created from Schulte Alpaca/Mohair blend.
She measures 7"-18cm and is available for purchase from my website.
Thanks for looking..
Melissa, She is just gorgous....love the eyes, lashes too and what beautiful shade of blue...
lovely pair..Katy
Katy, he is such a cutie, luv those toes.
Yes, I have too....when I do the craft markets I take a work in progress with me.
One bear I finished at a market and she sold that day so I asked the customer to take a piccie and email it to me, which she did.
Also when we go caravanning the bears to make are always the first to be packed.....fellow caravanners have walked over to see what I am doing.....a great ice breaker in meeting and greeting new people..
Amazing, he is absolutely gorgous...such a rich brown fur...
Another hint if using faux fur or synthetic furs..take the time to line each pattern piece with calico or muslin....the reward is a lovely bear that hasn't got that "puffy" look after stuffing as he or she has stretched some when stuffed.
Time spent on this practice will heap rewards on the overall look of your bear or critter..
Don't be afraid to experiment ......change direction of the head gusset..your bear can have a lovely fringe if the fur pile is long.....most of all enjoy yourself with this craft.....it is a journey well worth taking.....
Love this Elly, and the expression says so much.....
thanks for the tip, must bite the bullet and go for it...now where did I put the Kool-aid?????
my first attempt at a mailing list I sent 6 emails to the same recipient, luckly she was understanding...haven't tried since..
I too feel a little odd sending out emails of this nature as I feel as if I may be intruding...just me
I have another question regarding dyes. I have some Kool-Aid and am thinking of taking the plunge.
What do you dye, the whole piece of mohair or do you cut out your patten pieces and just dye these...
He is a little cutie Kay....love him..
Thanks for the clarification for novice Linda.....I understand where I would fit now when I take the plunge and enter one of my creations...
Sounds like everyone is on the right track...I especially agree with winners of previous competitions enter in the Masters the next time....I too have thought, picked a bear and then hesitated at the last minute because I have felt I would not have a chance...................cost reduction would be a plus too.....now not sure about the artist having been making bears for less than a year.....I have been making bears for 10 years.......would I be a novice because I haven't entered any comps or not a novice as I have been creating bears longer than 12 months...will follow this thread with great interest..
I have the program Photo Studio....I scan the picture...and then drop the edit box and resize using %...larger or smaller..
i probably gave a phone number to them when first registering but I have never received a call from them
