For artists and collectors sponsored by Intercal...your mohair supplier and Johnna's Mohair Store
Hi everyone. I'm going on vacation next week to London, Wales, Scotland and France (Paris and other cities). I know I shouldn't be thinking about teddy bears while on vacation, but as everyone knows, once you start making teddy bears, you can never be free of it. (That's a good thing!!) Are there any teddy bear supply stores in any of the above cities/towns that I can check out while I'm there? I will be on tours mostly, but do have a few days free time in London, Wales and Paris so I would like to visit some stores.
Appreciate the help. Thanks.

Yes, we wish we could help him too. We did ask advice from the local wildlife office and were told once the snow is gone and the ice melts, they can get into the water which helps them a lot to get rid of the ticks. He was eating our willow trees and he had lots to choose from. We haven't seen him since so not sure what became of him. Hopefully, he will be okay.
Thanks guys. They are 11" tall standing and 9" sitting.
Hi everyone. We just moved out to our lake lot this year and one evening this moose calf wandered into our yard. It was quite a surprise. Poor thing looks like he has ticks as he has rubbed most of his hide off. He has given himself a nice mohawk though. Any wonder we called him Mo.

Pauline, I think you should have left him as is. Sometimes what you think is awful, other people just love. That has been my experience anyway. Many times, I have posted a bear that I thought was hideous and it sold. Collectors are always looking for something different. Sorry, I'm not any help on how to fix him as I'm not experienced enough.

Hi everyone. I have been busy doing a custom order for a lady. She wanted 4 teddies out of her Mom's persian lamb coat. This is the first time I have worked with persian lamb so I wasn't sure what to expect. It was actually really easy. Here is a picture of the whole family.

I just shipped something yesterday through Paypal and it worked fine. Oddly enough, I couldn't get it to work properly through Canada Post. I wanted to use small packet air to ship international and it just wouldn't give me the option. Through Paypal, I had no problems. Who knows!!!

One trick I learned is to position the eyes and ears and then put the bear in front of a mirror. You can immediately tell if one eye or ear is higher than the other. It works every time.

I love your bear. Great for the first one! I just received my first bit of wool and instructions to try needle felting. It's not a kit so I will just be experimenting.

I need to create a banner for myself. I've googled it but come up with so many sites that it's mind boggling. Can anyone recommend a good web site so I can create my banner, preferably one that I can insert my own photos. Are there any good "free" banner sites or is it worth it to pay for the banner. What is a reasonable price for a banner?
Thanks for your help.

Hi. I'm still a beginner and have been afraid to post any pictures. I think I'm finally ready to post one now so here it is. This is Avery.

To the teddy bear artists in my area (Edmoton, AB, Canada), if you are interested in getting together for coffee to get to know each other, please send me an e-mail (my e-mail is on file). Also indicate what day/evening would work best for you. It will be our first teddy bear picnic!!

Hi. I'm glad to see there is interest in an Edmonton group. I'd be more than happy to host the first "teddy bear picnic".
Hi Louise. Thanks for the offer of help. Do you make real fur bears? I'm anxious to check out your website and I will do that soon. I'm too new to have a website but some day I will. So, as far as you know, there is no teddy group in this area?
Peggy
Hi. I'm a beginner bear artist. There are so many bear artists in the US and other countries and everyone is so helpful. I'm looking to join a local teddy group in my city. I would like to meet other artists in my home city of Edmonton, Alberta (Canada) or surrounding area just to get together and talk teddy, share tips and tricks, go on teddy bear picnics or maybe organize a coffee group once a month to show off our latest projects. Is there anyone in my area interested in this or is there already a group that I could join?
Teddy Bear Artists RULE!!

Hi. I'm a beginner. I've made a few synthetic bears and want to do real fur. I have a fur coat (I think it is mink) but the pelts seem stiff. I have been reading up on real fur and have tried glycerin to try to soften them. I find it really sticky and messy. Does the coat need to be left a long time to dry after putting the glycerin? Is there something else I can use that is not sticky?
