Congratulations to you all!!!! What an exciting time!!
Patty - I'm surprised Tracy has to have a c-section. Me and my two brothers were all over 9 pounds, and all born naturally. I was actually 10 pounds 13 ounces when I was born!!!! Ouch!!! But I was born naturally. They actually originally thought I might be twins, but I was just huge!! Sending good luck wishes to Tracy!!
I found a 'Mog the Cat' book a while back called 'Goodbye Mog' in which Mog DIES! It was horrifying!
What??????????? Mog died?????????
Mog was one of my favourites as a child!!!!
I don't get as much time to read as I would like, although I just finished the latest John Lamb Teddy Mystery - and I LOVED it!!! They don't take long to read, and are very fast paced, which means I find it hard to put them down!!
I do however listen to the Harry Potter books on CD every day whilst making bears!! I must have been through them all about 20 times, but as soon as I get to the end of the last one, I want to start back at the first one again!!! Daft I know, but I must admit I notice some new subtle details in the story every time I go through them. They are so fantastically written!!
Jenny - I'm like you in that I like a familiar story where I know the ending already!! I'm the same with films - there are a few I have watched over and over and know off by heart!!!

Great trees everyone!! I get so excited about christmas!!!!
Lisa - your girls are SO beautiful and adorable!!!
Wow Janet!!! What a wonderful display, and a great contribution to the promotion of the teddy bear!! Well done!!
Hubby and I have just decorated our tree - I thought I would share some pics with you. We're feeling very christmassy now!!
Congratulations!!!! Thats wonderful news!!!! Your panda is stunning!!!!
I rarely dress my bears, mainly because I am not very good at making clothes, so find it a bit frustrating!!! However, I can sit and spend a day making a little outfit. I then put it on the bear and decide I prefered the bear undressed!!! This has happened SO MANY times!!! However, I love experimenting, so I always feel I have learnt something, and my clothes making skills may slowly improve until one day I actually prefer a bear in the outfit I have made for it!!
p.s. Dawn - nice to see you on TT!!
Wow congratulations!!!! I did ballet for 15 years - I would have loved to have been good enough to become a ballet teacher. Well done you - you must be really proud of yourself.
oh no!!! that must have hurt, walking around on a fractured leg!!!! oh well, I look forward to seeing all the bears you get done whilst stuck at home. I hope it gets better really soon.
oohh!! Thats great! I'll be sure to send you some pics and details for the tribute to tiny teddies by 1st Feb.
By the way, I just got my copy of the latest TB&F and I LOVE the 12 days of christmas piece - its brilliant!!!
Congratulations Chloe!!! I knew you must have been nominated!!!!!
I also had the same problem with them messing up my name a couple of years ago - I kept contacting them to change it, but they never did. When I entered this year I didn't use my business name, and they now seem to have added a new entry for me onto their database so they are finally getting my details right. Keep on to them until they get it right Chloe - its only fair.
I look forward to seeing you and your bear in December!!
Congratulations!!!! I look forward to seeing your finalist in the fur in December!!
Thank you everyone for your kind words  - I really appreciate them.
Aww Chloe - I love the bear you entered!!!!! I can't believe that he would not be selected. Just wait and see - you never know, you might get a letter!!!
Jenny - I also entered that year (2005). I didn't have a stall either and we also went out for lunch. We were very lucky that we happened to go back into the fair just in time to hear them announcing that they were doing the awards early. I didn't win anything either, but when you've made all that effort to go there, you want to actually see the awards being presented!!! Because of this, and also the fact that the organiser couldn't get my name right, and kept sending things to my parents address (because my parents have exhibited at some of her dollshouse shows in the past) when I had never given that address to her, I didn't enter last year.
I thought I'd give it another go this year, as I fancy a trip to Hove and Brighton, and we'll visit some of my husband's family - it gives us the excuse to make the effort to go there!! In all honesty I don't think I'll enter again as I just find it all a bit frustrating when they can't let us all know within the same week at least!!
I'll stop moaning now though , as I am happy to be a finalist, and I'm looking forward to our weekend away.
I just wanted to share with you that I received a letter today telling me that my two entries in the British Bear Artist Awards have both been nominated. I'm really excited, and my hubby and I will now have a weekend away in December to take my entries to Hove for the final judging. I've added pictures to my blog if anyone would like to take a look. :photo:
I have to admit that I think it is a shame that some people found out almost a month ago as I assumed my bears hadn't been selected - it would have been nice if we all could have found out at the same time so that I could have joined in the enjoyment of it all a few weeks ago with everyone else.
However, I am certainly not complaining as I am delighted to be through to the final judging.
Hi Daphne,
Just wanted to add a little message to say I hope this all sorts itself out really quickly. It does sound as if you have SO MUCH going on in your life at the moment, that your body is probably just asking you to take a break. Sending you lots of calming thoughts. Take care of yourself.
Congratulations ladies!!!! Thats wonderful news!!!
I'll go and order my copy now - I always buy it from www.joggles.com
I can highly recommend Joggles if anyone is struggling to find a copy. I can't wait to see all the bears!!!!

Well thats a journey you won't forget in a hurry!!!!
Marion is a beautiful young lady, who has so much courage to come over to the UK to do shows, even though English isn't her ususal language - I really admire you for that!!! (And you make GORGEOUS bears of course!!!!)
Congratulations!!!!! What wonderful news. I hope you continue to enjoy your new grandaughter for many many years to come!!!!
As I don't turn 25 until next year, maybe I'm not the best person to be answering this!!! However, I would love to see some behind-the-scenes stuff from the magazine - a bit of information about what goes into making an issue would be great as I don't think many of us can really appreciate all the work that produces a magazine. Lots of old front covers would be good - I also like the idea of TOBY results through the ages - that would be a great representation of how artist bears/manufactured bears have evolved. Perhaps an in-depth focus on one or two artists who have so far lasted the 25 years with lots of 'then and now' pics of them and their bears. Have any events/shows lasted the 25 years? Perhaps a mention of these. All the little details to put the magazine in a context would be really interesting. I'm sure you've thought of lots of these things already!!
Are you actually producing an exhibit?? Ohhh - I wish I could come and see!!!!

I scrolled down so slowly in case it was something horrible!!!! he he he!!!! That is so funny!!!
Thank you so much for all your hard work Shelli, in helping to make TT what it is today - a thriving, exciting, supportive and friendly little community. I'm sure we all completely understand that life has to move on - we cannot stick with something forever out of obligation or force of habit. I 100% respect your courage in being able to step back from something you have had such a big hand in creating. I look forward to seeing all the new bears you will be able to make with your extra time!!
Make sure you still post though because I truly LOVE reading what you hae to say - you have such an amazing way of expressing what we are all thinking, and yet the rest of us struggle to put it into words!!
Thank you Shelli.
what?????? How???????
Why??????
hmmmm...I'm a bit miffed by this one - and yet it seems so typical of services in the UK!!!
Ellen - its so infuriating isn't it, when a business makes a mistake and then expects us to pay for it!!!
