th_2008_09240003.jpgThumper is a bunny (he started life has a bear but I wanted a bun so I added long ears  :crackup: ) made from fake fur, pink felt, and rainbow cashmere. Hels 14 inches when standing, which he siort of can  :dance:   and 9/10 inches sitting. he is 5 way jointed and stuffed with heavy polyfil.

He caused me so many problems, first his head was wrong, so I had to start again, then when I joined his head to his body I joined it in the wrong place  :doh:  so after a day of thinking I couldn't fix him  bear_cry  but I found a way in the end  :dance:

He loves cuddles bear_wub and dispite all the problems he caused, he is one of my faves  bear_wub

thank you both   bear_original  I've got a couple of pieces I want to dye, there both 1/4, and a dense pile to them, I might order two lots to be sure I've got enough, I'm sure I'll use it at some point if I don't need it all lol

BearHugger

Well I'm getting braver, so I've decided to order some Earth Palette Dyes. But, as normal, I have questions (when don't I  :crackup: )

I was going to order from here http://emmarybears.com/id85.html  but they only have 50g bags, is that enough? or should I look for somewhere else that does bigger bags?

And my final question, does anyone have any tips for someone thats never used this kind of dye? (not that I've used any other kind  :crackup: )

thanks again  bear_flower

th_2008_09160001.jpgI'd like you all to meet Misfit, he didn;t turn out as I had planned. I wanted to do an anime bear but I'm hopeless at them, so I've end up doing him like this;

2008_09160001.jpg

He is made form turquoise mohair, kingfisher blue felt and rainbow cashmere, his eyes are hand painted by me and he is 5 way jointed. Here he is with Marshmellow Dream to show the size difference;

BearHugger

Hi everyone,

I am hoping I'm posting this in the right place I get ever so confused about where to post  :doh:

I have a couple of questions I want to ask  bear_original

I really want some long pile mohair at least 2 inches would prefer 3 or 4 or longer lol but I'm having trouble finding some, I've seem to have searched everywhere, but found nothing, unless I'm not looking correctly  bear_wacko  does anyone know where I could get some? on the net would be better for me  bear_original

second question is really more than one question but its all linked lol.  I really want to either dye my own piece or have my mohair dyed for me. so My questions are, does anyone no anywhere on the net that might be able to do what I want with dyeing (I want to dye it rainbow colours if poss) or does anyone know how I could dye it rainbow colours?

I'm hoping someone will be able to help I really want some long pile mohair for christmas, my mums offered to pay for it  :dance:   and if I cn get it dyed or dye it myself it would be even better  :dance:

Hi Ali

My next five bears are going to be based on this pattern, they'll be changes here and there and they'll all be different colours. 4 of them are going to new homes with my friends, but one will be staying here bear_original  I'm going to try mohair after I've done them, I've already bought some and want to buy more  :crackup:

keep up the good work with your bears, I loved them all  bear_wub

th_2008_09010013.jpgTonight I finshed Marshmellow Dream. She is made from fake lilac fur, pink felt and rainbow cashmere. She is five way jointed, stuffed with heavy poyfill and has hand painted eyes (painted by myself bear_original )  I have put so much work into this bear, she is my best bear, my best pattern and something I feel may even get me noticed in the bear making community, but that I will have to wait and see about.

She started as an accident, a pattern gone wrong I thought, but after a bit of work her lovely head was made

2008_08250014.jpg

I then worked on here body, while I though about what I want to do for her nose. after a few hours working on her nose I opted for a cashmere nose. Her body turned out perfctly, she has a nice round tummy.

2008_08260001.jpg

Next I moved on to her legs, after 3 attempts, I made the perfect legs for her including big feet

2008_08300008.jpg

I then moved on to her arms, which was also tricky, the first two goes ended up far to small, then I thought they were too big, but they turned out to perfect (the pic shows one arm nearly finshed)

2008_09010003.jpg

And here are pics of Marshmellow Dream now she is finshed
