Teddy Talk: Creating, Collecting, Connecting

I picked that up from Sonya post on her article. too funny hon - thank you so much.

Maria was commenting on the announcement in the Teddy Bear Club International. I am honored and proud to be able to share with you all. My bears will be shown and displayed for sale in a Artist Gallery for a year, as well as my sculptured dolls and dragons in the wonderful Cornerstone Gallery in Aurora, Oregon hosted by Carrie Hopping. Entitled "Love of Fables and believing in Magic" begins with an artist reception on March 24 from 2pm to 6 pm and will be opened throughout April. Be sure to watch for the whole story in a up coming Teddy Bear Club International magazine.

The gallery show will be focused on my bears in the hopes to educate the public about artist bears, there will be a view other surprises as well.  I do feel that this is going to be a wonderful opportunity to share with the general public what artist bears are and what makes them so unique and special. I do hope that this presents a new level of exhibiting artist bears in the bear community in the future.

The Artist reception will be serving wine /cheese and a lot of talk about bears and the people that make them. I do hope that some of the local artists and collectors would like to come and join us. If you would be interested in receiving an invitation please contact me, I will be happy to get one to you. 

On a more personal note.
It is very exciting and has been a lot of work getting ready, but most enjoyable say the lest. I still have a better part of the next two weeks to finish projects for the show. That has pretty much been my life for the last two months. Some of my close friends here on TT knew, but one in particular who has been very supportive. I just want to thank her. Thank you dear friend you know who you are. I will always appreciate you and your kind dear friendship.

Congratulations Sonya!!! Your article is wonderful. Your bears are fantastic. I love your little gold bear,(sorry could not find his name.) he is so cute. The hat and shoes and jacket are priceless.

I think you did a wonderful job. I am working in polymer clay right now doing dolls. I so understand how it can be. I have used it in other areas in my art work. Your mouse is wonderful!!! He has good proportions, I mean he looks like a mouse would look. Very nice for your first.

Hi everyone,

It is my turn to have a fuzzy slipper night. This one is for you Louise dear friend.   
I am here after a wonderful day and was thinking about you all here on TT. It has been an year that I have joined TT and gotten to know some of you and made some wonderful friends that I will cherish forever. I do go to other forms, but I must say, I do know some of you here better and respect and adore those I have gotten to know. I often think about my time here on TT and think, it has brought so many of us together in friendship and friendships we will hold forever. Oh, boy I think I am repeating myself. Well, you get my train of thoughts here. I have been working a lot lately trying new things in the world of creation we all love. I have met new people in this art form, but I must say I do miss you all here even though I like the people in this new group. In general, I think all artist people are kind and generous hearted, giving, people. Let us rejoice in our artistries and share our work for what it is meant for. Making people smile and be happy. 

Ok, I had a few Guinness …. hence the going on here. 
I am excited to be able to share with you all my new works, and I hope to do that soon.
I did renew a new web site.
I am looking for someone to take over my web page building, so I don’t have to. LOL
I just paid for another two years. Boy, I  did not even get the last years web page done. LOL I hope to combine all my work to one site… now I just need to find someone to do all the work for me. (grin) so I don’t have too.  My new site will be creationsofmysticism.com, which will have my Bears and sculptured dolls and paintings all in one. “Dreamer… nothing but a Dreamer.” LOL  No, I do hope to have it done and complete.  I hope to find a person who is going to do all the web page work for me. hehehe. Opps, I already said that. The Guinness I am drinking is making me repeat myself. haha  too funny.
I think I have embarrass myself enough here.. I will go and me say good night.

Judi, Ellen, Maria, wow your stories have made me feel much better. I was really concerned about sending them without their display boxes, I did consider it, but thought if a foot got broken or finger, that would be heart breaking. So all you have said has made that much better. I also thought if I did not send my bears that I would not qualify to be voted on. I was confused due to the translation. As it turns out. I got an email from TED requested if I could possible send pictures, that I can do. I will be sending 12”x 18” framed pictures for the display. I will also include a piece of fabric for each bear, to give everyone a touchy feely experience. LOL So, it should work out fine.

Marie, thank you so much. I would love to hear about the event. Take a lot of pictures if you can.    I would love to see how they display my bears pictures, as well as seeing all the other bears. I am sure Ellen would love to know too.

To my disappointment I will not be sending my bears to the TED Awards at the Teddybär Welt show  in Germany.  Due to weight packaging costs, I am unable to send them. My bears require stands to display them, because of the clay feet. The stands for my bears are heavy and have added a lot of costs to the package weight for shipping. The shipping cost was estimated at about $150.00 to $200.00 dollars per bear. That is just not possible for me to send them at that price. I have tried to create different ways to display my bears safely and lessen the cost of shipping. So, I would be able to send them, but have been unable to find a way other than their original cases.

So to my regret and disappointment my bears will not be attending the event.

I want to thank everyone who has given me their support in the event so far.
I wish all the Nominated artist the best of luck at the event.

I have had rats too, but I see you have had a lot of wonderful ideas here. I only want to say...I am sorry to hear about Annie. I know how it feels as so many of us here do - to have a beloved pet sick. It makes it worse when we are so far away from a vet. Dear Mindy,

I know you have saidhere " back to the celebrations”, and I agree, but I really felt the need to comment on this post. So, please except my two cents.

You have had so many wonderful supports and I know as a professional person and kind person, that you would never do such a thing. I also know personal, it is hard to be accused of  underhanded and dishonest behavior.

The truth of the matter is, so many TT’s have entered the awards programs because of your presents here on TT. Getting to know someone involved in an event always helps people join in and be part of awards.
So many would of possibly not have even of known about the awards and I also believe it has given many of them the confidence to enter and enjoy the experience, whether they win or not.

I also entered the Toby Award this year, and my bears were not chosen.
I am confident in knowing, it is just not my time and I will try again next year.
I think it is wonderful there are so many TT nominations this year.
Why do I think that is the case? Well, Is that not why Teddy Talk was started for in the first place? One person’s dream to create a community to help the Teddy Bear Industry?
I believe that was and is the case.
With over 800 members that is going to happen. (many winners from one group)
I say to those out there that said that. Join and be part of the community.
I say also, Congratulations to all TT winners and you all should be very proud no matter what anyone says, as I know you are!

T’was the night before Christmas
When KR Ranch took the reins

Narrated by hubby Rodney

T’was the night before Christmas and all through the ranch
Not a knicker, a bark, a meow or a woo
The animals were tucked away all snug in their beds
While visions of bones, catnip, hay and seeds danced in their heads
The stockings were hung in the sun room with care
In hopes that St. Nicholas for one year, wouldn’t be bare
Asleep in my bed, nestled down for the night
A blood curdling scream, woke me up in a fright

A clatter, a bang, an “uumph” came from the roof
Santa must have tripped that pudgy round goof
He rolled cross the shingles and clung to the trough
Then 8 tiny hooves, pushed Santa off in a huff
He hit the ground rolling and stopped in the snow
So much for his entrance, I guess there’s no “HO HO”
I ran to his aid and picked him up by the britches
I looked at his head and “by Jeez” he will needs stitches

Kassity runs out, first aid kit in hand
She begins to sew and when done, Santa wobbles then stands
His head it is patched with his suit still a tattered
The reindeer shout from the roof “Hey Santa, what’s the matter?”
With shrugging shoulders and a look of dismay
Then struts up old Rudolph and yells, “hey Where’s our hay?”
You fed us in Greece, you fed us in Wales
All that we want is a nice juicy bale

I patted poor Santa’s shoulder and to the barn I did point
There stood the horses making a sign, that said “Destiny’s Joint”
The reindeer all clamored and raced for the hay
Destiny took the orders, 9 specials of the day
Now, Santa all confused he stormed into the house
I think he was liquored, I think he maybe soused?

The dogs barking stop, for in the hall they did linger
Santa grinned as he turned, “Oh my gosh! Santa gave them the finger”
Now, Ginger and Lacey looked up in shock
Wondering why we weren’t quicker at the throwing of the lock
The old man stomped into the kitchen, where he raided the freezer
I had to hold Kassity back, from smokin’ the old geezer

To the couch he did stride where he plunked himself down
and said “To heck with my ride, I’ll just stay in this town”
“ My sleighs trashed and the reindeer are too fat”
His three chins did waggle as he sulked where he sat

I looked up to see Kassity with a glint in her eye
And I said, “ Well, lets give it a try.”
We gathered our tools, and out the door we did race
And started working on the sleigh at a furious pace
We tipped the sleigh upright; it’s rails all were bent
Speeding through our work, we fixed each little dent

Kassity gathered our team, cuz the reindeer wouldn’t do
But seven horses, two dogs, two cats, three rabbits, a cockatoo,
and one little morning Dove named woo woo.
She lined them all up, and strapped them all in
I ran to get Santa’s red suit and some stuffing too
Kassity grabbed up the reins, and she gave them a snap
I gripped the sleigh tightly and said, ”Holy crap.”
I looked at the toys, as we then started to move
It just took a minute to find the right groove

The faster we went, we actually started to rise
Up in the air to my shock and surprise
The common call out is not what you’ll hear this year
But if you strain just right and bring your hand to your ear
Not, On Dancer, On Prancer, On Comet and Cupid
Most likely you’ll hear Kassity yell, “This is going to be a great year”
So, “On Desty, On Mystic, On Rocky and Dawn, On Angie and Bliss.”
With little Texas in the mix

“Who did I miss?”
“Oh!”
“On Ginger, On Lacey”
“On Bandit and Little Miss”
“On Buck, On Billy, and Grey Gracie
“Were is Little Miss?”
Oh Little Miss gets to ride with the rabbits in the back
Rummaging through the toys, she’ll get lost in that sack
“Ok, Santa you can call the last, On Woo woo” said Kassity
“On Who?” asked Santa
“Not On Who, On Woo woo” answered Kassity
“Oh woo who?” said confused Santa
“NO, WOO WOO!” replied Kassity
“You who”? said very confused Santa
“NOT YOU WHO” WOO WOO!!” yelled Kassity
“Never mind.” said Kassity and Rodney

Now, if you look really close, that’s not Rudolph’s red nose
But a Cockatoo named Marshal in red panty hose
So when we come by your house on this fate filled night
Keep the cookies and milk right out of site
But please put out a wonderful feed
Of bones, hay, carrots, bowl of cream and don’t forget a full cup of seed
And as we fly away don’t look to closely at the sack
Cuz that’s not the moon, it’s just Santa’s flashing his butt out the back
But Kassity grabs Santa’s pants and gives him heck
“You can’t do that in Canada, not even over Quebec!”
From Ontario to the Yukon, and squeaking the US in too
Then head overseas, something we’ve always wanted to do
The shout from the sky as you watch us pass by
Is a little out of the ordinary, but might bring a tear to your eye
“Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good cheer
Pass along a pint of Guinness, and have a great new year.!”

I am glad you like the photos. My hubby's friend Kelly did them, he is the greatest. I really enjoy working with him. He is a true professional in his work. They ended up dis-colored on the voting site, but I know they will fix it. They are very nice at Bar Report, Andrea has been a real help to me, being my first award entry and all.
It has been a blast - I have learnt a lot and hope to enter more. I want to say too. The ribbons are really nice.
