Many thanks, Chloe - glad you like them!
I do love your bear - ESPECIALLY his muzzle! As for correct proportions - who's to say - if it looks good, it's RIGHT
Catherine - your bear has such a sweet face, and
Lisa - what can I say - can't believe she is only your fourth bear.............
I guess we all now settle down to wait for the big brown envelope..........weeks yet! good luck everyone

O.K. - here's my two - "Any Requests" and "Polar Huggies". The polars were hard to capture, so we took lots of pics for the entry.......and then Jeremy had a play with the bears and produced an animation - it's on my website if you want to see - now called "Dances with Wasp"!!!!!!

another huge fan of Art Rogers here! I absolutely adore his work - and he is SO nice..........
I traded a bear with him last year (VERY exciting) - and when the bear arrived, he had a little travelling companion....... Art assured me that Fadey didn't want to make the journey alone, so O'Riley hopped in the box too - how nice is that?

Hi chloe
something I "invented", using up bits and pieces after Xmas - I heated up a sachet of ready-made cheese fondue, chucked in some lightly cooked broccoli rosettes, and poured it over some pasta - it became quite a favourite here! Jeremy is a veggie too, and I eat very little meat......if I ever try, say, roasting a chicken, the four-legged beasties are convinced it's for them, so it's almost impossible to get to the oven!

Oooh - thanks for that , Bobbie - absolutely fascinating! And a lesson in what NOt to wear!

Hi Marilyn
my apologies for not realising that you had joined TT..........these days, i seem only to have time for a very quick look at the site!
Your bears are very beautiful.....and oh goodie, a kindred spirit - like you, I am short sighted, and find it is an advantage at times ! For me, it helps that I can see very fine detail (CLOSE up) without lenses - so that's how I always sew noses, although there is always the danger of stabbing myself in the face!

The bit about the disabled parking in front of the skating rink reminded me of one that always causes the giggles here (in Germany) - the sign which reads "Blind school.......PARKING"!

Me again........
Judi - I'm with you there - doing any show entails a lot of work, and overseas - well......for us, it's always one or other of our pets who gets sick just before. My first big show here, a few years back (Teddybar Welt) was almost a disaster -.... the plan was to put the dogs and cats into boarding kennels for the weekend -hah! NO WAY - they conspired to scupper that one - so I had to do the show alone , and more than a little nervous as my command of the German language leaves a lot to be desired! I needn't have worried though - it's amazing how much you can communicate over a shared interest!
Shows here are very multi-national, with exhibitors from all over the world - and I'm pretty sure that a lot of them DON'T speak German.
As for moving the Teddybar Total, Bobbie, I think it's probably a financial thing - less exhibitors, less visitors - so they are "down-sizing" a bit. Rheda isn't far from Munster, so I don't think it will pick up a whole set of new visitors. From the pics on the website, it looks as if it will be a nice venue though hotels will probably be a problem - it was bad enough in Munster itself for the show weekend.......but we already booked for next year, so don't have to worry.
And oh yes - isn't the Schulte factory a great place to visit - an Aladdin's cave of fabrics!
back to work.

Wow - mine arrived this morning - a seriously impressive rosette! It really puts the Ted Worldwide and Euro Teddy ones to shame.........and I was a bit stunned with the amazingly careful packaging...........and with perfect timing, I also got an email to tell me that Bluebottle had arrived safely.
And yes, Bobbie - most of the nominees are SE Asian....there's plenty of time for all you TTers to create something wonderful for next year!

Me again.....
I fear things have changed a bit, Bobbie - apparently the visitor numbers this April were around the 6,000 mark! Sign of the times?!
Next year the show will be in a new venue, at Rheda, which is a bit south of Munster.
I've only done the show for the last 2 times, and the competition bears are now exhibited on a LONG table, which is roped off from the public - you are allowed to set up your own bears, and those which have been sent in (including your two, Judi) are perfectly set out. What IS nice is that you really are made to feel a bit special - they produce a special "sonderheft" - a mini mag with all the nominated bears, plus a short biog. of the artists, and your table number (if you are an exhibitor), for the visiting public.
Personally, I have absolutely NO complaints about the competition, or the show

oooh - exciting........now I'll be hovering by the mail box!
And hey, Bobbie - your bear is just AWESOME - so much detail in such a teensy little critter...........
will be interesting to see the competition - but I wasn't expecting to even get a nomination, so I'm really happy anyway!
BUT -it will be a LONG wait ........

Hiya
just a warning - I noticed that on their website, they had two different dates for entry cutoff for the competition - end November AND end December...so I checked with the organisation, and the end date for entries is end NOVEMBER.....and there go my carefully laid plans! A whole month LESS to come up with something..........

Karen, I believe you ! It's just that some people at least IMPLY that bears are not the nicest of beasties.....I would LOVE to see some in the wild. I didn't realise tho' that raccoons are a bit scarey......we do have them around here -
escaped pets which have returned to the wild.

A huge thanks, again everyone..........I'm back down to earth again!
And Ellen, I know what you mean - I didn't enter the Ted Worldwide this time, and I'm sure I'll regret it in November or so, when the nominations come out...but heck - you can't DO everything!
