Did you end up naming him?
No help here but won't the shape distort? will you need to have gloves on in case tis happenes so you can reshape while it is still hot?
Very clever, I can't sculpt so I admire anyone who can!
Did she eventually get a name? She is so melancholy I think she is divine.
Lovely. I can just imagine the race to get there first
Shelli I kinda knew you were kidding but i didn't clarify it, I was just musing that if you drink more water then it should help instead of drinking less like some people assume.
It's all right I'll learn one day how to type properly and think about what I am writing instead of thinking everyone can read my mind!
Nimble Fingers?
Actually isn't it the opposite. If you suffer from retention you drink more water?
It was one of those odd facts that stick in your mind because you go What The?
Clever girl! i would have spent ages trying to get the angle right and then given up!
I like your thinking.
So once the comp is over will you redo his nose again.
No matter how much I try the first one is being stubborn and I can't get it any clearer.
Ok the first photo is Sassy.
The second photo is Sam - my first real fur bear and about my 4th Bear
third phot is Minime
and I can't find a photo of Patti Kake
Patti Kake was a roly poly mini bear. She was green mini plush and sat in a cupcake paper. She was decorated with paint drizzled over her body like icing and seed beads glued on like 100's and 1000's.
I was quite pleased with her in some ways but I discovered at that point I didn't like the centre head seam and with ears part of the head pattern bears very much.
I am planning to do another one using slightly different techniques. She went to live with a friend and i can't find my photos of her. Sorry.
Ok here are a few results....
Wow this place is full of info. i hate it when you only get partial stories, when you actually talk to people involved (not selling though) you get a better idea.
Another downfall wit htha Atkins is that it can make your breath really really bad. As your body goes into kerokentisis (argh sorry i can't find it at present) as it breaks down things in your body to make up for what youare missing which leads to bad breath.
Love the nose technique and love the bear..... Gorgeous and so soft looking.
I'm not really worried but if I can up my numbers a bit then I may actually have some for shows and sales.
And aside from that I really am very nosy and love to find things out
I can't find a decent curved needle they are all so thick and I would really prefer something finer. i have hunted high and low anyone is Australia know where i can get one?
We will see paula after I have finished the dog I am trying out then I will look at what i have.
I am just not sure whether I have enough of anything to try and make a base for it to build off of. i will have to lay it all out and have a look.
my daughter has my first one. I'll have to get a photo again.
Bad fur, poor sewing. Fur sitting wrong, fur trimmed wrong..... but when i offered to fix her up for my daughter she told me off!! Couldn't embroider a nose. Ears set wrong, arms in wrong spot. head not stuffed enough...wil I go on!!
Lovely, they are just so full of personality. YEY that you got them.
The changes of colour allows each to adjust to suit them. vanilla Latte is great for me!
I have been around for a while mainly as a lurker. People here seem so much more clever then me that I felt a little shy but I thought what the heck and plunged in.
Now where did I put those results?
Well I know pattern draping wouldn't be for me in designing a bear as I can't sculpt!
I think that would be an important part of it
I tend to be more like Judi draw it then try it.
definately feeling slack here. I thought I was doing well with the 0ne in a fortnight. I have to admit though I did manage 2 dragons in a few days but I felt the second one suffered.
I have 4 children 8,5,2,1. This year is good because I will have 2 in school so I will organise time between work and bears. I can't sew my bears around DH as it makes him sneeze so a large chunk of evening is 'lost' for bear making as I spend time with the family. Homework, tea, time together. DH tends to sleep early though and once he is asleep I will go to my sewing room and start.
I am definately going to try for one a week though. I want to get my skills up and have some for shows.
You can register your name as a business and that helps protet your stuff
(well in Australia). I use my family name so unless I become really famous I don't think it's going to be too much of a problem.
