Ha Shelli, are you going to make him eat it.
My copy is still available, and I have contacted our local news agency who will contact me on Monday, as we also get our copies later than the rest of the world, I am sure they will have copies that can be sent to you.
I was telling my husband about the teddy talkers and I said we all about the same and he said yes , you all "daft"

I took a few pictures of how I clean my bobbin case on my sewing machine.
Most machines work on the same principal. Just be carefull with any small screws that might accidentally pop out.
If you just remove the bobbin and clean, get out your instruction book and see if it shows you how to take out the actual holder of the bobbin( bobbin case) and then clean out underneath that.
You can see that I have removed that in the picture that shows my finger holding up the fluff ( unfortunately a bit blurry)
Also note where I place a drop of oil-this is a very important place to place a drop of oil, do this and you machine will keep sewing for many a day. Make sure you use a recommended sewing machine oil, never hubby's oil from his workshop.
Also , clean between the tension disks as I show with a piece of paper, as often dust collect between there, which again can play havoc with your tension.
If anyone wants more tips on their sewing machine let me know- one of my good friends still has his own shop and is in charge of all Elna's sewing machine workshops and he does repairs to all kinds of sewing machines .

Julia, hope you enjoyed your festive season,

Phew, carded, roving, batt,!!!!! all of a sudden from someone mentioning something about doing one new project my mind is in a whirl, I know about wool, and knitting needles, and I can knit a jersey. Judi , I think what you have said, is slowly starting to make sense.
(Carde wool, roving, batt...are all wool fibers so all will work for needle felting.)
Boy oh boy Judi, am I going to have fun in your class
Lynette
I have not seen the picture , saw the price mentioned somewhere, looks like Judi has achieved a great sale. Congradulations Judi well done.
Lynette
humf, she is sure telling her maker that she is not taking any of her nonsense, and that she is perfect in all ways !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!so she better just get on with it and accept that.

Stunning bears
Lynette
Dilu, I used to have the bears all around, then I turned the entrance hall into my collection point. Depending on my mood, I will take time, dust and brush them and re-arrange them.
My family were over the moon when I got involved with bears as they never knew what to get me, now they know anything connected to bears are always welcome !!!!!
Your bears look lovely.

Can I be first- can I swop my old brain for a new one?
Lynette
   :doh
Wack me about the head, I am just too stooopid for my shoes. Until I received my copy of the TBF (USA) magazine, that we would sit with some wool( fluff) some sharp needles and prick prick away, shape, prick until we had something that looked like a muzzle for a teddy bear. We would then take this "shape" and somehow, which has been making my brain cells work overtime, attached this to a mohair teddy bear that we had now sewn , with a partial face ????
(creeping out from under my computer) Then I saw a picture showing what should be done, Hah you attach the "fluff" and you then needle felt onto the mohair into the filler and so you adding onto the mohair to create like an added on muzzle.
Am I stupid or what !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(pullling a hat over my head)
Normally you have to pay for a domain name and that name is registered to you for a certain period and after that period you will have to renew it so it would be
lapousmor@ XXX.fr.
lapousmor@xxx .com or whatever you decide on, providing someone else did not have the name you have already chosen. If you link your website to one of the free sites then you do not pay for the hosting of your site.
My artist bear friend in Switzerland had a contract with a manufacturer in Korea, and she went to a lawyer to try and get copy rights on her bear label.
It was very difficult as
1. part of her name was Jolly- you cannot copy right this- it is an expression
2. Bears - was also part of the name- this refers to an Animal- you cannot copy right this
3. Switzerland is a country- you cannot copy right this
In the end on the advise from the legal team it was decided that there was not much she could do.
Personally I think for the amount of bears a normal bear artist/ hobby maker is going to sell, it is fine to proceed as we all do, if you are aproached to do a large contract, then seek legal advice, or if you become the next Miz Beary Waltzy Disney Steiff teddy Bear artist then protect every little design.

Judi this bear is adorable, if I can achieve this one day I will come over and hug you, and forget about the spanking part.I am looking forward to learning this and it will be a new experience learning via the computer.
I still need to sort my visa payment out for this course. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hugs Lynette.
p.s. I think your sister is watching over my baby girl that was taken from me so many years ago

Paula, I have registered with the class !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!just need to get hold of Nancy to give her my credit card details, I called last night but got her answering phone. Will try again today.
I have pens, needles, wool, but wool batt ???? not even going to try calling anyone here as being partially deaf and my hearing aids needing to be adjusted,I cant hear on the telephone so I suppose they will say , here is someone that is "Batty", so will have to make do with what I have.
Judi if this is difficult I am going to come over and spank you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, never mind learning something new, I should be making bears for Japan , doing my son's accounts and making clothes for my new grand child that is on its way, and never mind people waiting for some orders.

Teddy is sittting on the desk , and I have said Teddy they are talking about you, and he is wagging his tail.
I have my own collection of bears and he knows he cannot go and take them, I do keep the expensive ones out of his reach, but when he is cross with me he will go to the display and take a bear off, and if I find him, I get this look, saying "Ok, now what are you going to do " and then its a chase to get the bear. But I simply adore him.

Before getting to closing of the seams, make sure that the two seams that must be closed are the same length, and match, sometimes what can happen is that when you have sewn the two sides together the fabric has slipped slightly and then the seams do not match. They look like they match, especially when you have stuffed the limb, you trim, fray check, tuck, and ladder stitch and then instead of the perfect flat seam, you get a wonky seam.
With my bears, I tack the pieces together, using an overcast stictch, then either hand stitch or machine sew depending on size , fabric, or area I am working on. This tends to hold the two pieces together.
Often when working with your project it is not the end piece causing the problem but the very start where the problem has begun.

I am just as frustrated with the pictures, last year I also had to search around for a professional photographer, paid a fortune and personally I did not think the pictures did the bear any justice in the end.
I will take pictures with my digital camera and then take it to one of the local developing places with one of my prints, I print off at home and see if they can match it, I will also send a small sample of the mohair I have used 1/2" x 1/2" for what it is worth so that they can see I have not gone and played around with the program and "cleaned " up the picture to make the bear appear better looking ( frankly I am not that clever to do that)

Jenn,
The best way to deal with this sort of thing is to confront the people who have upset you,and then get on with it.
Unfortunatley in this world of ours, petty people say unkind and hurtfull things, sometimes we have to learn not to be like them, share a hug with others, smile, and learn to care for each other.
Hugs
Lynette.
Dear Daphne,
Well , I have never worked with real fur, although someone gave me a piece of mink, which her daughter told her to get out of the shop !!!!and it is in a box here, waiting for my hands to get onto it. I have heard so many stories about what to do and what not to do when using real fur.
I can just imagine you working on them and cursing, but looks like you did not let them get the better of you, and they will make someone happy. My first bears cannot be parted from the recipients today, and I look at them and have to wonder what I thought I was trying to make. Thank heavens we live and learn.
Lynette
Kathy,
I had to get the picture loaded, there he is what do you think, he is trying to match up the colours lol,
hugs Lynette.
Ok, this is my dog "Teddy",( one of the dogs) every time I go to my cupboard to get fabric he has to climb in, do his dog trick, which is to turn around, scratch, kick out the mohair, then decide on a cozy corner and settle down. When I tell him that he is a baaaaddd boy he gives me this look.
Thought I would share this with all of you,
Woofs from Teddy and hugs from Lynette
Paula, your bears are stunning !!! not sure if I have seen you at any of the shows in the UK, know I have seen your work in UK magazines.
Marie your bear looks lovely too, I will be flying to Japan in March for the show there, it will be my first visit to Japan.
And Shelli your Bear at the top looks so sad a girl ? she looks like she wants a BIG hug.
Once again, it amazes me , and I keep saying this, how from a piece of fabric, something so stunning can be created.
Lynette.
Thanks for sharing Matilda,
Lynette
