Well I must tell you Garnet and I, (Garnet mostly) have been working on a new pattern for a more realistic Polar Bear. Garnet has a love for Polar bears due to his many years working in the far north. Also we lived for 2 years in Yellowknife NWT where it is daylight 24 hours in summer and almost 24 hours darkness in winter. I guess we are both partial to Polar Bears.
This pattern has had many a changes over the past 2 months. The head was to big, then the head was to small, then the double jointed neck was a laugh. Anyway we have established a pattern and I am working on him now. He is cut and sewn and just about ready to stuff and put together. His face is what I cant wait for. He is our first open mouth double jointed on fours bear. I will show you him when done.

Marie absolutely beautiful. Wonderful job. Not a cat at all, a sweet little bear. Adorable Hon!

Bless your heart Dilu and thank you for the kind words.
Four years ago when I became ill, I must admit I did not have the most positive outlook on things. I was losing my balance and ability to walk and my left hand just would not cooperate with the rest of me. I could no longer walk without a cane and could no longer drive. Therefor had to quit a job that I had loved for 16 years as a Human Resource Manager for a large Canadian Bank.
Yep, it is true! Good ol Louise felt quite sorry for herself. I was diagnosed with Hemi Dystonia and damage to the Basil Ganglia of my little brain. In a nut shell this is similar in character to MS. It is a progressive ailment and I just thank my lucky stars each day I wake, stand on my feet and walk to the bathroom.
Anyway I had no intention of going on and on but just wanted to say that I actually feel very privileged to have our bears. They are truly a joy in my life (along with the old guy of course). My mother, (bless her beautiful soul) always said there are people far worse off. That is so very true. I still have my life, my mind, (well part of it) my family, my 4 wonderful puppies and of course the bears. For this I am so very thankful.
Gosh what got into me today??
I just want to say that I love each and every one of you guys and thank God for such wonderful friends and blessings in my life.
Hugs Louise (Little Miss Long Winded)!

Big Hugs!

Hi guys. I also saw the post from Lisa about business names and I found it an interesting subject to say the least.
It is funny that this has come up because yesterday I was going to post the question of how each of you came up with your business name and what the thought or reason was behind the name that you choose.
We as you know we are called bears by beesley. The reason I chose this name was because beesley was a nick name I was given as a teenager. I hated it with a passion and still to this day do not know why I was called beesley???:/ It sounded kinda cute with the bears though so I decided to use it. We have trade marked this name to protect us from the problem mentioned in Lisa's post.
Anyway, we have a bee logo which I designed and added to the name. The bee in my heart represents achieving the impossible. Because I am disabled and my left hand is totally curled in permanently, (and frankly quite useless) I found it fitting when struggling to make my bears.
I was wondering how each of you picked your business name and why?:/
The names are all so nice and it would be interesting to find out what is behind them.
Please share.

Absolutely beautiful baby bears Sue Ann. I love the colors. Marbles colors are wonderful and that face would stop any one in their tracks Avalon is beautiful and has the most wonderful face. Frostie looks like he would love a hug and his colors again are so neat. It is not often we see such different yet abosolutely beautiful mohair. Grat job Hon!

It is a good question Milli. The majority of our bears are in the size range from 13" -16" and they seem to do fine, however I have noticed a huge market in the mini bears. we personally do not make the small small bears. Also I have notice the very large ones over 20" seem to draw alot of interset and I cannot see where you can go wrong with a larger bear. Our latest pattern is 21" and I am working on another pattern that will be 28". I love the larger bears as they are wonderful to pick up and cuddle.

I have treated my self from time to time to Schulte kid mohair and find it to be the most wonderful luxurious mohair out there. I ususally purchase it when I feel a bit down and want to treat myself. I find it to be much more expensive but worth every penny.

So sorry Shelli to hear about your Kitty! Our Dalmation Michah is also sick. She is 12 years old and seems to not be well. She will not eat and for her that is one sure sign things are not good. We are taking her to the vet tonight and I pray she will be OK. She is my little buddy. We love her so! Hugs and a good cry is needed in a case like this.

We send our prayers. Gosh this world is full of some terrible souls. We shall all thank our lucky stars if we have not directly been affected.
Hugs Louise and Garnet
I know Shelli, it is a big pain. I tried in the begginning to avoid the hand picking but soon learned that was not an option.
Hugs Louise
Thank you Shelli! You always are there for us. Your giving heart is much apprecited.

Wow Marie! You are a beautiful Girl! The bear you have made is adorable just like Mom! Dilu, that little Golly is the cutest little one and I love her hair and dress. Sooo sweet!

Welcome Sandy. It is funny, but grey mohair or alpaca seems to be a hard color to find. I have also been looking. Welcome and please stay a while.

Great topic! I must say it is funny that you ask this question as I was just saying to Garnet this afternoon he would be screwed if I dropped dead today as I am the only one who has a clue how to maintain the website. Also he has no idea what money we have, where it goes or what will happen to the bears and materials or what we even have in stock! Good point huh!
I too lost my 46 year old brother Bryce suddenly in a motor cycle accident 4 years ago. My Mom and Dad both died suddenly at age 55 and 60. Gosh I'm ready to cry! Anyway as Judi said it is all a part of life and we should live each day to the fullist!!
I will haunt my man if he throws anything out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hugs Louise
So sorry to hear you have not been well Jane!:|:|You get better now yah hear!!!!!!

Hi guys! I just thought I would drop you a note and let you know that we are showcasing our creations at the annual 3 day Tofield Trade Show, June 30, July 1 and July 2. This is our first show of the season and because we are fairly new to this area of the country, we felt it important to participate. We are scheduled for 5 more shows across Alberta Canada between August and November.
Unfortunately there is no such thing in Western Canada as a bear show, however there are shows in Eastern Canada. Cost to fly there would likely exceed $1200.00 Canadian per person. Noooooooo!
Anyway, if your in the area....Ha Ha please stop in for a coffee, good conversation and a laugh or two!!!!!
:cool::):o:|:(;):P:/:lol::mad::rolleyes:
Hugs
