Hi all,
I will be going to the Teddy Bear Jubilee next Saturday, Oct 3rd as a vistor (not selling). Just wanted who all was going? I would love to meet you!!!
Sheryl
Thanks Ladies for all of your help.
I did find the plate, bobbins and light cover in the cabinet draw on the left side. So the only thing that needs to be replaced is the rubber ring for the bobbin winder. I will search a little more on where to find one of them.
Other than that I do know the machine works and I am dying to try it out on a new bear.
I have posted another photo of the machine and cabinet it is in. It is not a treadle machine but works with the knee pedal. The cabinet itself is quite old, but I am not sure what type of wood it is.
Anyway if any one has ever used this model let me know.
Thanks again for all of your help.

Hi all,
I have a question? My Mom got a great deal on a 1928 singer sewing machine at an estate sale today. My question is does anyone know where I can find a few parts and the manual. It is model number 66. It has been mounted in a cabinet and has the knee pedal. I just really need the bobbin case and the plate that goes over the top.
Also does anyone use this type of machine and how does it sew for making your bears?
Thanks,
Sheryl
That's great news Brenda.
and I know one day I will find out what is wrong with my little Kayla. I think Kayla's problem is what Daphne had said, its in Kayla's throat and or nose. Just need to find that trigger.
Keep us posted.

OMG,
My Basset/Beagle Kayla has a breathing issue that the Vets can not figure out what the cause is. The only thing they came up wit,h is that it could be asthma. She does not cough either. It just happens within a matter of minnutes. At first she is fine and then BAM!!!! she is having problems breathing. Her spells are servere, her heart just pounds like it is getting ready to come out of her chest and she acts as if she is going to pass out. These spells have now gone on for over 2 yrs and it started out in the middle of winter (January) in 2007 and 2008 and now happens in the fall (September) in 2008 and May of 2009. She will be turning 4 the 29th of this month. I know there is a triger but I don't know what it is. I watch whatever I do like what I clean with and so on.
Kayla's spells are bad. I have never heard of a dog that does what she does. My Black Lab mix Shadow has skin allergies, but it does not effect his breathing in any way.
I feel for you. I hope the Vets can figure out what is causing her wheezing. I know it is so hard that they can't just tell us what is wrong. I wish that is the only time they could talk to us.
I don't mean to be scary. I am sure your baby does not have what my Kayla has. I just tell myself she is a special little girl and we take care of it when it happens.
I sure your Vet will give her some atobiotics. That should clear it up.

Hi Brenda
They did not say anything about anyone from other countries. I just copied what they had in the newsletter. You might check under your messages tab on your my ebay. I did receive a messege about this and other changes coming to ebay. The message had a link to the July newsletter with a better explantion of all the up coming changes.
Robin has layed out how to find it in her post. I would think everyone has this option under there my account no matter what country they live in.
I am so sorry I could not do more to help. I do have a another suggustion---- (you do need to be signed in) Go down to the bottom of your account page and click on Policies. This gives you all of ebays rules and regulations. I would think it should tell you something about the shared photos if they have listed them. Or click on there site map link which is also at the bottom of the page it shows you your account there so you can click on your preferences there. It shows share your photos link there just click across from it at the far right on the word show.
Please let me know if anyone is having problems and I can see what I can do to help.

Hi all,
I just went to ebay and here is the information from there July update newsetter about the photos they are using for there catalog. I hope this will clear up some of the mystry.
Product pages surfacing to more buyers: eBay catalog product pages continue to be surfaced for more and more buyers. An expanded "Great Savings" box will feature listings from three PowerSellers instead of just one. To qualify for the Great Savings box, you need to be a Top-rated seller or meet the PowerSeller requirements as defined for April 2010.
These pages have a higher sell-through rate than search results pages, and eBay is continuing to expand and improve the eBay product catalog to include more categories.
Starting September 1, 2009, eBay will begin selecting sellers' photos for inclusion in the eBay product catalog. If your photo is chosen, an attribution including your user ID and a link to your profile page will be included on the product details page under your picture each time it's displayed. This attribution can give you significant additional exposure.
If you'd rather opt out of this program, please do so through My eBay as described here. To ensure your pictures are not considered for inclusion in the eBay product catalog starting September 1, you need to opt out by August 31, 2009 at 23:59:59 PT.
You can opt out any time after that as well, but any pictures we select starting September 1 during a time you are not opted out may continue to be used in the catalog at our discretion.
TAKE ACTION:
List with product details whenever they're available to make sure your listings appear on the eBay product pages. See more best practices.
Qualify to get your items featured in the product page Great Savings box.
To increase your chances of having your photos selected for the eBay product catalog with your user ID and link to your profile page, follow these simple guidelines: Upload clear, high resolution photos at least 1000 x 1000 pixels and do not include watermarks.
If you don't want your photos used in the eBay product catalog, you can opt out at any time through My eBay. To ensure your pictures are not selected starting September 1, you need to opt out by August 31, 2009 at 23:59:59 PT. You can opt out any time after that as well, but any pictures selected starting September 1 during a time you are not opted out may continue to be used in the catalog.

Hi all,
I now have a question about custom charges. Does that apply to every country you ship too?
Does it depend on what your amount claimed is (as I see from the other posts here) or even on what service you ship your swap bears overseas?
On our last swap my partner was Sue and she can only answer whether she had to pay custom charges and that is up to her to say.
I paid extra shipping costs(that was my choice to do) to make sure that she got her bear. I paid extra for insurance and tracking which was a higher shipping service to do that. I would think if you marked it as a gift you would not have to pay any customs at all because to me there would be no value amount.
So I guessed I answered my own question above that I did pay extra for insurance so I did have to give an amount.
I do not want to see the swaps end due to high custom charges. The last swap was great. Due to the amount of my work load at home I will not be able to join this swap.
So any further advise on how to ship and state value on our bears would be great.
Is there any website that we can go to that gives us any idea on what the custom charges would be for each country?
sheryl
