You people are blowing my socks off with these designs! I had no idea how many curious, talented, patient people we had on this board (except Aleta, of course.)
Hey now!! I resemble that remark!
Warmest hugs,

Yippee! (Light bulb moment) That's it!! It's an Oregon thing.
Thank you for helping me see the light, Shantell. It's an Oregon thing! It's an Oregon thing.

I HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT: (and yes, I know I'm yelling!)
I am totally inept at computer graphics. Thought I would just lay that all out on the line right now. I sat at the computer for three hours yesterday playing with Photoshop and all I ended up doing was creating a great big mess. And I mean a MESS! So, don't think you can prod me or cajole me into trying it again. (Stamping me feet like a two year old.) I simply won't do it!!
Tantrum over now.....but I'm still not doing it. You girls are doing a lovely job without me. I'll just continue to love and admire what you create.
Warmest hugs,

I received this from my sister and just had to share it with everyone. I'm a child of the 60's and got quite a kick out of this. Enjoy the read! Warmest hugs, Aleta
TO ALL THE KIDS WHO WERE BORN IN THE
1930's 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's !!
First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they
carried us.
They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get
tested for diabetes.
Then after that trauma, our baby cribs were covered with bright colored
lead-based paints.
We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we
rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took
hitchhiking.
As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags.
Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat.
We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle.
We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE
actually died from this.
We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank soda pop with sugar
in it, but
we weren't overweight because
WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING !
We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back
when the streetlights came on.
No one was able to reach us all day. And we were O.K.
We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down
the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the
bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.
We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no
99 channels on cable, no video tape movies, no surround sound, no cell
phones, no personal computers, no Internet or Internet chat
rooms..........WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!
We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no
lawsuits from these accidents.
We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us
forever.
We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays,
made up games with sticks and tennis balls and although we were told it
would happen, we did not put out very many eyes.
We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang
the bell, or just yelled for them!
Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't
had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!
The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They
actually sided with the law!
This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers
and inventors ever!
The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.
We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned
HOW TO
DEAL WITH IT ALL!
And YOU are one of them! CONGRATULATIONS!
You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as
kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated our lives for our own
good.
and while you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave
their parents were.
Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it?!
I'm supposed to be getting ready to go out for dinner but the letters, ATC, caught my eye. I want to trade with you Dilu!!
Gotta go now. Hubby's at the end of the drive and coming this way.....see ya.
Warmest hugs,

Zowie, Sonya! That's a lot of awards! He's so handsome though, I'm not surprised.
As for me......no all time favorite. The last one I finish is always my favorite until the next one is finished. I do have to say though that I really, really love my new little Easter bunnies.....there again....they're the last things I've finished!
Warmest hugs,

Welcome home, Kassity!
It sounds like you had a great time. Reno is fun, isn't it? Especially when you bring money home instead of leaving it there!!

Hi Debbie,
Thought I would post a picture of a bear I overdyed with Black Cherry Kool-Aide. I started with an awful, bright orange/red, mohair. It was just too "out there" for me and I had to hit myself upside the head for buying it. What was I thinking? Anyway, the last time I was dying fabric I decided to throw a section of the ghastly stuff into a Black Cherry bath. Voila! A lovely dark antique red. I was so pleased with the results that next time I do a bunch of dyeing I'll plop the rest of the mohair into the same Kool-Aide. I get different results when using white mohair though. The mohair then turns a beautiful deep plum/red color. Recipe: 3 cups boiling water to 1 packet Kool-Aide mix. Adjust cups to packets as needed to make sure your mohair is covered completely.

I know you girls are looking to Judi for your answer. Hope you don't mind if I put my two cents in.....for what it's worth. I use an Iwata, Studio Series. It's small, quiet, cycles on and off and works like a dream. It was recommended to me by an artist who air brushes for a living.

This is all algebra to me but I sure am enjoying seeing all the digital creations. Wowie zowie!! Who knew?
For me, I'm working on doing nothing flawlessly this evening. TeeHee
Warmest hugs,
Aleta
Sandi,
I'm so sorry to hear about your dog, Magic.
Golly gee, I don't know what else to say.
Warmest bear hugs,
Aleta
Shantell,
There is nothing like a mothers touch to calm a sad spirit. Your comfort meant the world to her, I'm sure of it.
Warmest bear hugs,
Aleta
Oh Shari, (bawling like a baby here)
I'm so happy for you!! You simply can not know how relieved I am. Prayers are a powerful thing!!
Warmest hugs and happy tears,
Aleta
I'm so sorry to hear such news, Shantell. So sad.....especially for a family with young children. Loss is never an easy cross to bear no matter the length of the illness. My prayers and thoughts are with them.
Warmest hugs,
Aleta
Is there something in the air? We've just been dealt a blow ourselves. Two family members have been diagnosed with cancer in the past two weeks.
Well, aren't you two the most creative on the block today?!!! Pin a rose on your nose! I love this idea!
Warmest hugs,
Aleta
Shelli,
That was the most respectful way anyone has ever told me to "get a clue".
Warmest hugs,
Clueless in Portland, Aleta
Thank you for mentioning that, Dilu!! I have a pile of ultrasuede pieces I need to list.....at some point. They're just sitting in the drawer taking up valuable wool felt space at the moment. Oh gosh, I think I have a bunch of mini discs and stuff too. Minis turned out not to be my "thing". They're squirmy little buggers!!
Warmest bear hugs,
Aleta
Shari,
I'm so glad to hear you're back home!!! I've been on pins and needles since Tuesday. We're here for you when you're ready and feel up to chatting.
Warmest and biggest bear hugs,
Aleta
Okay. Here's the deal. I've just spent the last half hour trying to place a bid on Melissa's swap card. It will only register .01 no matter how many times I up my bid!! Can someone PLEASE tell me what I'm doing wrong. I put in a $5.00 bid. How come Shelli's cards register 1 bid and a dollar amount? It's okay if you hand me the idiot stick. I'm probably overlooking the obvious.
Warmest bear hugs,
Aleta
Melissa,
I love your card!! It has all the colors I adore. I think you pulled that idea out of my brain for a princess and the pea bear. It's been rattling around up in my brain waiting for the right time. You beat me to it!! Bravo!!! Darn, for me.
Warmest hugs,
Aleta
Eileen,
You didn't cry at all???? I'm afraid I'm going to just blubber like an idiot when my daughter gets married in August. I get teary and choked up just thinking about it!! I adore the young man she's marrying......a guy just like her Dad. Oh dear, here I go with the waterworks.
Warmest hugs,
Aleta
Heather,
Notes like that really tug and the heartstrings when they are so heartfelt. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Warmest bear hugs,
Aleta
Good Lord, Lisa! How much pressure is behind your air compressor? I'd be afraid to use it too!!! Yowzer!
