Teddy Talk: Creating, Collecting, Connecting

Thank you all so much. I am overwhelmed by your support. I had no idea all you wonderful and wonderfully talented artists also have your own personal issues. I'm so sorry I let myself write all that I normally keep to myself. You'll never know how much your responses means to me.

While I don't normally get involved with letters asking me to mail copies to everyone I know, I thought this might be something TT-ers would be interested in and there are alot of us. I thought it especially pertinent with our recent discussions about breast cancer and our own Jodi's hard work to get a Bear Hugs for Breast Cancer auction going.

This is a single paragraph from the rather long letter:

"There's a bill called the Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act which will require insurance companies to cover a minimum 48-hour hospital stay for patients undergoing a mastectomy. It's about eliminating the "drive-through mastectomy" where women are forced to go home just a few hours after surgery, against the wishes of their doctor, still groggy from anesthesia and sometimes with drainage tubes still attached."

Jodi: The last paragraph of your post where you were talking with a lady while standing in line..it just gave me chills. It seems no matter where you are someone has been touched in some way by breast cancer.

I'm just so impressed that you had a little idea, wanted to help in some small way, and in a few days you've really gotten things moving. I think your idea is going to be such a success that it will become an annual event. I'm afraid that I'd  still be stumbling around trying to figure out what to do. I sincerely applaud you.

Oh, I just love that little guy. What a little ham...looks like he enjoys having his picture taken. He's just adorable. Your bears always make me smile, but this little guy just has such personality.

Thank you, Sandra. I loved the story and moral. I thought each of the pictures were beautiful, each in their own way...maybe because I live in the desert and never get to see a change of seasons.

Love the names you pick. Annalee Deborah Bearbottoms is just precious. But that last picture with her little paw over her eye...oh, I just want her.    

Oh, her legs and bloomers are so cute. Such a cute idea. I think she's just wonderful and so is Delilah. Thanks for talking her into showing her legs.

What a great picture of those little guys playing in the meadow...I bet their mom took that picture. So cute.

Jodi, Jodi, Jodi...your excitement about this project is so much fun to see. In just two days, you've moved this idea in leaps and bounds into a full-fledged undertaking and the growing  excitement in your posts is obvious. It's wonderful that you're doing this and your sis-in-law must be very proud of you.    

Both Violet and Emma are beautiful with those special wings. It looks like you and Vicki really made a wonderful swap...lucky girls.

How could your client resist that face. He has such a wonderful face and I love the colors. He and Grace will make a nice couple...did you name him?  

I love her, too. She's adorable, but all your bears have sweet faces and such great clothing.
