Jodi... i think your true calling in life is making folks happy! And what a wonderful "job" that is! Seriously, I can't look at one of your happy little bears without smiling!
Chloe.... good for you taking dance classes again!!!! I try to pop in for a ballet class from time to time as well. I must say that it's SO much more enjoyable as an adult... without the pressure and stress... it just feels good to move! Especially without that little voice in my head saying, "Do I look perfect? Do I look perfect? Do I look perfect?" I KNOW I don't have to be perfect anymore!

Beautiful flowers everyone! Charlotte... I've never seen that "antelope's horn" WOW... so unique and beautiful!
I'm a pansy kind of gal... they just make me happy every time I see them! And lilacs... just the smell of lilac makes me feel good about the world!
Kim Basta
Oh Jodi... I am so sorry.
I, like Sarah, tend to try to hope these kinds of thing end up in a "when one door closes, another opens" kind of thing... and I do sincerely hope that this will be the case!
Thinking about you....

I wanted to be a ballerina... and came VERY close to accomplishing that particular goal....
before food (and boys) just became way too tempting!!!!!
I also always knew I'd be a Mom... which I've done three times over now.
I think if you had asked me when I was REALLY young...I would have said that I wanted to grow up to be my cat!
Jane... LOVE the comment your Grand daughter made about wanting to feed all the animals... especially the BUTTERFLIES! Awwww!!!!! How absolutely sweet is that!
Jeeze... I just looked at it again! It IS really pretty!!!!
Tulle, silk, velvet, crystals.... mmmm......
Kim Basta
Oh my GOSH!!! Ohh... it IS pretty though! That bag costs way more than my first CAR though!
I am imagining myself with a bag like that.... with wet wipes and half eaten graham crackers molding away at the bottom! And dried dandylions... my kids always pick dandylions when we walk down the street and I just shove them in my purse! Heheh!
Kim Basta
I've just added you to my blog as well Marion!!! Oh... you are so pretty in your dress! It's beautiful!
Love how you call your cat your own little Bastet! That's the origin of my last name... Bastet!
Kim Basta
Oh Kathy!!!!! So glad to hear this great news! I know that you area super proud Mom!!! Give her a BIG hug from me!

Gaby... I totally understand what you mean.... my first thought before starting my blog was, why the HECK would anyone want to read about my life, my bears, etc.... then I realized, a whole bunch of people already do that right HERE at TT... so, there are at least a few folks who might be interested!
I must admit that I have really enjoyed reading everyone's blogs! And, I've randomly stumbling across a few blogs that are completely unrelated to anything that I am even remotely interested in... but I have have just become completely absorbed in.
I do imagine that there are some security issues... just like everything in this world... you have to be cautious.
Think about it though Gaby! I'd love to read about all the goings on in Wien!

Peta...
All my best wishes for a safe deliveey and speedy recovery!!!

You know what I'd do? I'd get myself a down stuffed pillow and open it up. I had a down comforter that developed a hole as I was shaking it out one day.... and a million tiny little feathers popped out!
Kim Basta
Hi Chloe! Is that 4-5 mm diameter of the quill itself, or 4-5 mm in length... those would be some short little feathers!

     That's my Sassy Dance!

I am one who truly believes that when it comes to auction times..... consistency is best. My auctions always end between 5pm and 5:30 pm on the West Coast (eBay time) that's 8 pm 8:30 pm here in Ohio... and always on Sunday evening. Whether I list as a 7 day, a 5 day or a 3 day... that's when they always end. If someone is interested in catching one of my bears they know they can pop on their computer right around that time, and if I have something listed, they have a good shot at bidding on her. No matter what end time or end day you select, I think consistency is the key.

Hi Veronica! I know what you mean... not much space in there to work either in an attempt to turn those little pins down. I find it hard to get cotter pins REALLY good and tight... even in big ol' mohair bears... I am not a fan of cotter pins! Most of my little ones are thread jointed in the limbs... as that's the ONLY way I can get the limb joints as tight as I want them.
Kim Basta
Hi Kathleen! Oh... you will definitely find the Sassy materials easier to turn than mohair! WAY easier. Turning is like 50% of the agony involved in minis.... isn't it?
You know... I try to peek in the mini section from time to time, but my computer time is seriously limited and I often don't make it back here for a week or so... if you run into any problems, don't hestitate to eMail or PM me.... I will be more likely to see that in a timely fashion.
Fingers crossed for ya!

Thank you so much for the invitation to procrastinate a bit Paula!!!!! I'm prone to procrastinate anyway, but with an invitation... well, I could hardly pass this up! I'm happy to join you for tea!
Tea cups figure fairly prominantly in my favorite book, so I do have a mini collection of Alice china, cups, tea pots, etc.... but THIS one is my favorite! My Cheshire Cat Mug! I got this in a "head" shop near the Kent State University Campus in Kent, Ohio, at some point in the late eighties! Why was I there? ... well... just to buy this cup of course!
Anyway, the Cheshire cat on the mug is ordinarily a dusty shade of blue, but when you put a hot drink in the mug, he magically disappears... just his smile remains! After twenty years, he kinda turns this cream color and is still a bit visable....
My FAVORITE mug though... and he still makes me grin from ear to ear, and reminds me that
Thanks Paula!

Oh yes... I remember that Sue Ann.... it's fabulous when one CAN get things resolved with a "Cease & Desist" letter!
Gosh Chrissi... I didn't know that "shabby chic" was trademarked either! I totally agree with you that small businesses, even REALLY small business (like mine) are entitled and deserving of all the legal protections that big companies are. And, when there is a simple, easy, frugal solution to the problem that the "other side" respects ( or has no other choice BUT to respect) all is well. I certainly don't want anyone to think that just because I am small, that they can do what they wish with my work product, pictures, etc.... I'd be more than willing to stick up for myself if I saw someone else trying to profit from my hard work. Total agreement with you there Chrissi! Sometimes there are less expensive or free avenues you can take and if the person/company has just a bit of integrity, they will realize the error of their ways.... or in a situation like you found yourself in.... where you were completely unaware that you had committed any wrongdoing.... that person can correct the problem.
Kim Basta
My personal decision, like Kim's, is that there's not enough reason in my bear business to pursue legal action on any point including trademark registration. Hopefully that won't bite me in the butt someday; it may, I acknowlege. Fingers crossed!
Yup... I've got mine crossed too!
