I get both USA magazines too Susie. :)
If you go to Amazon you will see the ones from the UK and Australia. However the shipping is insanely high!!
I didn't even know my husband put my web info up here!! Gees!!!
Oh Tatiana I'm sorry this is so late!! I have been really ill.
But I want to let you know I think this little guy is spectacular!!!
Wow what a sweet, cute little fellow! You did a magnificent job!!!
Susie I hear ya!!!!
I'm amazed at how many don't support the magazines either. I hear all the time that they don't get enough business from the magazines. Sad really but I don't think it's the magazines as much as it's the hard times we all are having.
I'm a collector and I subscribe to them all. Even the ones from the UK. I'm not wealthy by any means and the over seas ones are costly but like you said if we don't support them we will lose them for sure!
And I would hate to see that.
Soaking your fish in milk helps remove the fishiness. If the fish is too strong it can over come other ingredients such as veggies cooked with it and you might want to soak it first. However Shark isn't that fishy. But you certainly can do it. I dip Catfish in milk then in egg and then in the batter when frying it but I don't soak it.
I have many many fish recipes. All my own tested and tried and I also have many family ones handed down over 100 years old.
Bobbie I will let you know when my blog is ready.
Hi Sophie,
I placed an order and heard back. :)
Try again if you don't hear back. Maybe something unforeseen happened.
I'm a gourmet cook. I love to cook!! I have started a blog with some of my recipes.
Here is one I have used over and over. You'll love it if you like spicy.
Cyndee's Broiled Spicy Shark.
1 pound Shark fillets (3/4" thick)
1/4 cup chopped parsley
1 tablespoon fresh chopped Basil
2 tablespoons Seafood sauce or chili sauce
1/3 cup Lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon Onion powder
1/2 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
1 clove Garlic, minced
1 tablespoon soy sauce
Directions:
Place fish fillets in plastic bag. Add lemon juice, parsley, basil, garlic, onion powder, cayenne pepper, chili sauce and soy sauce. Close top of bag and refrigerate for at least one hour, but not longer than 8 hours.
Remove fish from bag and save marinade. Place fish on rack of preheated broiler about 3 inches from heat and broil for 3-5 minutes. Turn fillets over, brush top with marinade and broil an additional 5-8 minutes until fish flakes or is done to taste. Boil rest of marinade until it's reduced by half and pour over fillets when serving.
Cyndee's Shark Steaks In Herb Butter Recipe.
2 pounds Shark Steaks, rinsed in cold water and
patted dry
4 cloves Garlic
1 medium Onion, chopped
1 Lemon, cut into wedges
1 cup Butter
1/4 teaspoon Marjoram
1/4 teaspoon Seafood Seasonings
1/8 teaspoon Thyme
Salt - to taste
Freshly-ground Black Pepper - to taste
Fresh Parsley, chopped
Pinch Ground Oregano
Directions:
Melt butter in saucepan over low heat and add whole garlic, onions, seasonings and herbs. Remove from heat and allow to steep (one hour).
Place shark steaks in a baking dish and pour herb butter over fish. Cook at 350 F (15 minutes) and serve garnished with parsley and with lemon wedges to the side.
If you would like more let me know. I have several tested and tried.
