  :  We had a leak awhile ago on a shower pipe The pipe was in my sewing closet.  The house is built weird.    I am so pissed at my ladlord and his cutting corners !  Unfortunately I didnt realize the location of the pipe so I did not think to check my sewing machine until I pulled it out yesterday too use it and It was musty.  The light worked but nothing else did.  I was so upset!   It was a brand new machine!  I hope I can get it fixed!  Jenn

Perhaps your landlord should be responsible for your damaged belongings??

That's exactly what I'm wondering! Ask him if he will foot the bill for the water damage to your machine...especially as it was new.

I agree..... I think the bill/replacement should be his responsibility. Go through that closet and check everything, then call him promptly and get this settled. If too much time goes by he might not agree to cover damages.

Sadly what he will probably say, but if you hit him with a sad little girl routine ~produce tears if you can  !! Just might make him feel guilt ridden enough to get it repaired....
