DUH! I am a little out of it today... I always have problems deciding which sizes I need though... hmmm...
Hi Penny she's sold to a lady for her mother anniversary. She was too funny
Irene
I wish I could say my supplies were that tidy...well I could SAY that, but it sure wouldn't be true!! :)
I just looked at my fabric and I don't even have one full fat eighth left...it's all scraps. I need to go shopping!!
Shopping!!! what a good activity Melissa
Kim,
The shop that's running a 50% off sale has loads of disks and stuff. Try
www.sierrameadowsbears.com
I just bought packs of 100 in a variety of sizes. Ok, in every size they had!
Eileen
I have enough stash to keep me busy for a looooooooong time....but then I will still think of some kind of mohair I need and don't have and will need to buy...hhhhmmmm
I can see from you all that I am seriously deprived.
How can you work in such a tidy space. I dont pile anything in. I like to keep everything at hand instantly.
I did though, buy a 2mt long 4door, 4 draw dresser for my workroom. Could'nt get the bugga through the door :lol:It's in the living room , taking up way too much space.
Matilda
Irene...wow!!! I love your sewing room.....I try to keep mine tidy too, but yours is
SO NEAT and organized I'm jealous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I noticed your lovely dolls, I didn't know you made them so I'm just about to have a look at your website..what a clever lady you are!!!
Melissa, go girl!!! you can't survive on a fat 1/8....get shopping!!!!!
hugs
Denise.
Matilda,
About your dresser. I've had the same kind of problem again and again. I refuse to be beaten by fat furniture and narrow doorways/stairways.
1) Take the door off its hinges
2) Remove all the doors and drawers from the dresser before moving it--this makes it much lighter and easier to handle
3) Try wiggling it in upside down, sideways, in all positions you can think of
4) If none of this works, check and see if you can possibly take the frame apart, or the legs/feet off (if any). If so, you're home. If not . . .
The only piece of furniture that absolutely resisted my method is a huge ugly brown sofa that my eldest daughter left on the second floor when she moved out. We'd had no trouble carrying it up the stairs, but couldn't get it down whatever we tried.
So I brought my little Ryobi hand saw upstairs and sawed off one end of the sofa, just one arm and a bit. First I had to unstaple the upholstery fabric, of course, but that was easy. Once I got the wretched thing downstairs (all by myself) it was a fairly easy matter to put the sofa back together with steel mending plates and screws.
It's quite possible that you can take apart your dresser frame and reassemble it again without any permanent damage. It just depends on how desperate you are to move it!!
Eileen
Oh thank you Denise. I know i'm lucky to have a space where i can work when i want, BUT...i would want more space and another window and of course tones of mohair
Eileen, You sure sound handy.
I just got the perfect mental image of you hauling a HUGE couch down the stairs!!
Heather
I jokingly told the hubster I was going to take pictures of my room to share and he turned and stared at me, he said he didn't think it would be a wise idea,
Why
Because I won't go in your room but I will look at your pictures....do you really want me to know?
oops
I guess I SHOULD KEEP IT ALL UNDER WRAPS Life will be much more fun the less he knows....
I think I will need to be very very very good this winter.....
But doesn't it feel better when you have a little extra tucked away?
Says she who just this hour got an Intercal order....but it was just a little golly hair and thread and eyes....
Dilu
Oh Eileen
Cleaning supplies.......electricity.......and you could needle felt the dust bunnies right?>!
You are all too funny.....now, I need to get back to work.....
Wow Irene, I need you to organise my house, please
Do you feel like a trip to Australia ?
My rule of thumb these days, is that if the fabric doesn't fit in my trunk, it doesn't get bought! The trunk is pretty roomy (see pic) and is always full!
My trunk was painted for me by a friend - she worked from a photograph of some of my Chiltern teddy bears. Oh and in case you're curious, the two guys sat on the trunk are two of my favourite personal bears. The big 'un is a Frank Webster (Charnwood Bears here in the UK) special and the smaller chap is a lovely Jane Humme bear (Netherlands).
:lol:EILEEN I'm sittin 'ere wettin meself :wacko:Your one crazy bird
I've gotta feelin I'm not that desperate to move my dresser. Not now !
Love that chest Paula. Love ya bears also. I though they didnt look like yours.
Still wettin meself
How many hours does it take to get there Karen ?????? Oh Paula, you are lovely and everything looks lovely around you
 Oh c'mon, Matilda! Give it a try. It's all glue and screws. Never say Never
Crazy for sure, but also very stubborn. Tell me something can't be done, and I can't resist.
Paula, I like your method and love love love your chest and your bears!
Eileen
Irene, the flight is many hours, I think England is approx 24 hours + to give you an idea. Europe should be around the same.
