I'm so pleased that my hubby has finally agreed to move my computer upstairs from the basement in preparation for my recovery from my "birthday surgery " on Tuesday!
I'm so happy that I will be able to get back online sooner and try to catch up. He' is very agreeable lately, hmmm, what should I ask for next????
Candy / Flowers / Housekeeper / Personal Chef / Jaguar / Vacation to Paris / Diamonds / Backrub / Spa weekend.
Just some thoughts that pop immediately into my mind...
Hummmm, let me think about it....
Of course, that is obvious: you should ask more teddy bear making materials!!!! Or some gorgeous artist bears!!!!

Beary hugs,
Sophie.
Shari, I'm glad you're getting some pampering - you deserve it. What date is your surgery? I will send a zillion goog thoughts your way for the surgery. Take it easy and hurry back.
Hugs,
Brenda
Hi Brenda, is the littel sweetie sleeping now?? Shhhh!
My surgery is Tuesday,Feb.21 which is also my birthday but since it's considered " urgent" ,I had no choice I'm planning for a complete recovery by the end of March and as long as there are no nasty reports from the tests they sent away , I'll be back to better than normal in no time!!
Okay everyone! Pay attention here!! We have a TT'er, Shari, going in for "urgent" surgery. This is not a little thing. This is a big thing. AND, it's being done on Shari's birthday for heavens sakes. Let's all send positive thoughts not just today but everyday she's away from us.....and beyond!
Warmest bear hugs,
Aleta
Hi Shari,
Actually, he is in his crib as of a few minutes ago, but is rocking it across the floor as we speak. I am really wonderinf if he may be reacting to certain foods or colouring. We try to keep what he eats as natural as we can, but today he was soooooo over the top. I tried a warm bath and lots of lavender and camomile lotion, but it's obviously not working LOL! Anyway, I will thinking of you on Tuesday and sending warm, healing thoughts your way. I guess the sooner you get it over, the sooner you will be on you feet. Take care and soak up all the pampering you can get.
Hugs,
Brenda
Awwww he's a keep Shari!!! Tell 'em we love him for doing this for you!
How are you feeling? Tired? Rest well, the family won't let you use this 'excuse' twice....I know I tried! Boy did he laugh at me!

Shelli , your a girl after my heart, I would love to ask for all those things but the fact that he agreed to move the computer is the same in his eyes
Thank-you girls
Aleta   I hope your feeling better about your friends faux pas.
Brenda, how is the little darling today ,quiet, calm
I'll be back to reading and posting in no time I'm sure.I'll keep all your warm thoughts with me until then.
OOOWWWWWWW!!! Big get well hugs for you Shari. I hope everything goes well. Now who on earth scheduled surgery on your birthday!
I at least waited three days after my birthday. As for after take it easy and let your husband pamper you, oh yes chocies are on the take home prescription and cake and cuddles and ice cream and mohair and ultrasuede and a huge big shopping spree at Intercal. All these things should have you feeling 110% very soon.
Big hugs Jane
Shari... so glad to hear that the test results didn't come back with anything surprising!!!!! That's wonderful! We'll all be praying for a super speedy recovery for you!

Thanks Jane,I know you had surgery not long ago so I'll follow your advice.
I actually didn't have a choice of dates as my birthday was the first available emergency date.
Kim,I din't get my test results back yet ,I'm just hoping for nothing bad to show up. I'll let you know when I hear but it may not be until the day of the surgery
On a cynical note... Don't you just "love" how hospitals consider "emergency surgery" to be a procedure they schedule, like, three weeks from now.
How is that an "emergency?"
???
Yes, how wonderful to have the computer handy, Shari. My best vibes are heading your way for Tuesday and an early Happy Birthday wish for you . . . a totally benign report!!
Your right Shelli but the scary alternative to the "urgent" surgery that was set for a week and a half from the specialist appointment was a wait of at least three months while this thing continues to grow inside me.
Thanks Sue Ann,I made my birthday wish for a benign report but I won't know until I wake up again on Tuesday afternoon.
Thanks for all the well wishes. I'll let you all know how it went as soon as I can.
Shari,
I just wanted you to know that I'll be thinking of you heaps on Tuesday and hoping all goes well. That really sucks that it's happening on your birthday, but I really hope you get good news.
Be strong and think of us all plugging for you when you're lying in that hospital bed...we are really care about you a great deal.
Hear from you soon!
Hugs and stuff,
Shari, all my good thoughts will be heading your way on Tuesday  ..praying for the results to come back all clear!
Wonderful about your puter move Now you will not be bored and can talk all day with us
huge hugs
xo Sarah
I'll be thinking of you tomorrow with good wishes for your surgery and tests to go well.
 Tomorrow's the big day, darling, and you will be a newer better happier model then the you are today....it will be fine....
POST SURGERY:
drink lots of water (lots and lots) to help flush the anesthetics out of your system
don't be afraid to take your pain medications!!!!!
Walk- not far not long, but walk every day....and the next day walk a wee bit farther....You may not beable to go out due to weather, so walk around the house....
no vacuuming-really, none! bad! no no stay away from that appliance!
no lifting laundry baskets....no lifting bags of grocerys probably for several weeks to a month- maybe longer......its OK
No hauling rocks and digging ditches! I'm serious here.....
Everyone heals at their own pace from this....so don't beat yourself up because YOU think you should be back to normal and your body doesn't......Your body gets to win this one!
As you do start healing you will have good days and bad days.....then you will start noticing that you have 2 good days to 1 bad day....then three etc.....This is the way it is supposed to be....don't beat yourself up because you want all good days all the time. it isn't going to happen, but if you know ahead of time that this is normal maybe you can be more accepting
When you have a bad day- it is your bodies way of saying sit, take it easy, read a book, sleep whatever...rest and yes maybe even have yourself a really good pity party.....
its probably just hormones and it is normal and don't beat yourself up about it. Let happen what happens and when its over eat something yummy and go on with life!
It takes the human body a year to completely heal from surgery like this ....that's OK....After the first 3 months you probably wont notice, except that at times you are more tired than you think you should be.....its OK
Are you seeing a pattern here? Be good to yourself and don't beat yourself up just because your body has its own time schedule...Your recuperation will go more smoothly if you can let go of your preconceptions of healing time....Its OK it is really OK and its a damn site better than the alternative! Right?
Know that we care about you and are hoping for the very best for you.....

Nurse Dilu, I will follow all your good advice and try to do nothing but enjoy my family and sew new bears when I am able. I'm getting a bit nervous, I wish I new the test results before the surgery so I know what to deal with. Love you guys so very much!!
Oh Shari, I'll be thinking about you and praying for you tomorrow. I'm sure everything will go well though. Try not to worry, just make sure everyone takes care of you after. Have a happy birthday inspite of the surgery-you can always celebrate another day.
Are you having the surgery in Halifax ? How long is your hospital stay ?
Take Care & Hugs
Thanks Tammy   I'm having my surgery in New Glasgow tomorrow. I should be back home in 3-4 days.
 GOOD LUCK SHARI
I know everything will go well for you Shari - and i shall be thinking of you tomorrow
There is always a way to deal with the crap that life throws at you Shari, we always cope and we always manage somehow. Don't get too despondent and think about things too much, you'll only drive yourself nuts.
I'll PM you
