Oh, thanks everyone!  You guys are the greatest.  I feel much more confident about little Birdie now.  I even took the plunge and listed her on eBay tonight.  This is her link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi … &rd=1&rd=1
It will be interesting to see if she attracts any potential new mommies!

I'm so sorry for not being able to reply to your kind posts earlier but just after I posted little Birdie here my computer's hard drive decided to retire itself.  I thought everything was certainly gone since no matter what trick I tried the hard drive couldn't be recognized.  But, it has by some miracle been brought back and now I have everything safely backed up.  Always remember to back-up your files... you never know what might happen...

So many beautiful new creations since I was last able to visit!... and, Dilu, your golly pair.... WOW!  No wonder you'd been so quiet...
I haven't ssen uch of Shelli, Sue, or Aleta lately either.  I wonder what they're going to surprise us with....

Thanks again, all.

Warm wishes,

LuLu

Yes, Magda, he is certainly a sweetie.  More pictures, please!  What an innocent look with those pale blue eyes.  What are you working on now?

Wow, he's got personality!  Love his look; It seems like he might burst into song at any moment - he makes me smile.  Great job.

I haven't seen as much of Dilu as usual.... do you think she is planning to surprise us with some new wonderful Golly designs?

Dear Dilu,  Are you okay? More Gollies please.  I miss you!

birdiebear-horz2.jpgHi Everyone!

So good to be back... First I want tell everyone how much growth I've seen in the work here at TeddyTalk! (I confess to some 2 am visits to TT!)  If I could I would adopt every little creature who appears here.  You just keep getting better and better!

I've been busy opening my new yarn and fiber shop and haven't had a spare moment.  Things are finally settling into place and I've managed to get back to bear making by hand stitching between customers and working on Birdie during late night hours when I should be sleeping!  Honestly, I'm feeling quite a bit insecure about my bears and since I'd like to try offering them to buyers/collectors I'd truly appreciate some feedback from fellow bear artists.

I guess what I'm wondering is - would Birdie's style attract your attention?  And what do you think mught be improved?  Be honest - I can take it! bear_original Most of my work is done without anyone else seeing it so I'd really love to know what fresh eyes see.  Do you think she might be more interesting with some distressing/ageing?

Here are her vital statistics:  Birdie is hand stitched from Intercal's sparse distressed mohair and is  5 way jointed with cotter pins.  Her little sweater and ear warmer is hand knit using super fine mohair/silk on 5xo needles.  The skirt is handmade from Liberty of London cotton lawn and her ribbon is silk.  Birdie stands 4-1/4 inches tall.

Hugs to all!

Lulu

P.S.  I hope this post works.... this is my fourth attempt!

lulu

Hayley!  Genius, you are!... and it's just what I need to get myself going right now!!!

So... count me in!!!

Aleta, thanks for posting  Easter's date.  I've been wondering for a few weeks now but I don't have a calendar with holidays and whenever I'm at the computer I forget to check for it.  Whew!  That's one more thing I don't have to carry around in my tired old head ;-)

I've been feeling pretty down the last few days but this has me smiling.  I can't wait to see all the results.  With all the talent and different styles here at Teddy Talk it's sure to be a delight.

C'mon, everyone.  Please join in the fun!!!!!

dolly-TT.jpgHi everyone!

Since I haven't posted any work in so long... actually I haven't done much in a long time either...  I'm sending little Dolly Lolly out into the spotlight.  She's a strange little girl but I'm happy with her (unusual for me) just because I let myself ignore rules and just put her together with intuition.

I must apologize for the photo though... I have the focus a bit confused.  The background is better photographed than poor little Dolly.

I'd love to hear what you think of her...

Thanks for looking!!!!

Luv,

LuLu

P.S. Helena,  if you have any doubts about the competency at this clinic would you be able to go to another for a second opinion?

lulu

Dear Helena,

  I just experienced a very similar thing two weeks ago so I can empathize very well.  The anxiety is horrendous isn't it.  I'm certain you will be in all the Teddy Talkers' prayers.

Try to keep in mind.... 1. Over 90% of findings are eventually determined to be benign.  2. If even the slightest shadow shows on your mammo the radiologist will order magnifications and ultrasound to be certain nothing is missed. 3. You have had regular screenings so even if there is a problem it has been found early. 4. You are not alone... please don't hesitiate to contact me if you just need to vent about all that is happening.

In my case I noticed a dimple in my left breast.  It was small so for a few weeks I tried to convince myself that it was my imagination.  And it helped that sometimes it was very noticeable and other times quite evident.  I finally had the mammogram and sure enough an ultrasound was ordered... they found nothing!!!  The anxiety is still with me  because I still have the dimple but to a lesser degree... and now I have to go for a surgical evaluation.  Obviously something must be causing the dimple so the surgeon will determine if there needs to be further exploration.  I hope not and I'm tempted to not even go to the appointment... but I know that would probably be foolish.  Besides... even biopsies and fine needle aspirates are more often than not satisfactory reports.

So, think positively, and remember this is most probably just routine follow-up.   But... PLEASE... let us know how it comes out.  I know I will be worrying a bit right along with you until it is over!

(((((hugs)))))

Luv,

Louisa

Sandi,

I just wanted you to know that I'm praying for the recovery of your dear Magic.  I bet you haven't slept in days. :Please let us know how things are going when you are able.  It seems like we are all having a terrible time with our fur babies lately.  I lost my best friend, Pebbles, just a few weeks ago and it feels like things will never be the same.

My thoughts and prayers are with you both.

(((( big hugs))))

Shantell,

I think he has a most darling little face!  The dark eyes make him look so innocent and childlike.

Hmmm... now I don' t think he needs to be dressed... something very simple...  maybe just a little baby bib... or a blankie?  He says "little boy" to me too for some reason.  He looks like baby who needs to be cuddled until he falls asleep!

I guess what I'm saying is the new look is wonderful!

Great job!

LuLu

lulu

Marvelous job!  The whiskers are magical.... would you please, please, please tell me how you did them?

It may not be your pattern but keep in mind that even using the same pattern no one else would have created a foxy just like this one!

Precious Penny....

I've been gone for a few months and now I find you're under the weather!!!!!  Please feel better soon soon soon!

Seriously though, as you can see we are all very worried about you... please get all the rest you need.  I think you can see how much everyone here cares about you so don't hesitate to rely on us a bit.

Luv,

LuLu

P.S.  Are you sure you just don't need more chocolate???? bear_flower

oh, dear Jane... (((((big hugs))))))
I will be praying for your sweet little Holly.  It feels no different than having a  human child sick...
I have little yorkie terrier girls so I know all too well that if you paid too much heed to every mischievious thing a terrier does you would be at the vet's every day.  You are doing all you can for her and that's what matters now.  Please let us know as soon as you hear anything more and know that you and Holly are in my thoughts and prayers.

Hello everyone old and new (to teddy talk that is)!

You may not remember me but I was here when Teddy Talk first started.  I've been trying to keep up with all the news but my health and work load have been preventing me from playing much here.  If TT was I playground I'd be the girl forced to take a nap while everyone else hung upside down on the monkey bars!

Since I have a little extra energy tonight I wanted to tell everyone how simply wonderful all the creatures are!!!  I can see so much growth in everyone's skills and creative reach.  I'm so proud of you all!!!   More pictures, please!!!

And so many new faces!!! Welcome, all!  It's amazing to see such a collection of talent... Those of you who are worrying about style...I can identify everyone by their bears; no name tage needed.  You each have your own "look"; it just becomes more evident as your confidences grow.

I know I'm sounding all sappy but I just wish I could give everyone here a hug tonight.     You have no idea how much you mean to me...

luv,

LuLu

Jenny.. Bunny is fantastic!!!!!!  She has a face that makes me think about giving up bear-making just because I know I will never reach your level!  ( Hope everyone knows I mean that as a compliment :-))

Just beautiful!  More, more!!

baby-bear8a.jpgbaby-bear7a.jpgbaby-bear3a.jpgHi Everyone!

I've been gone for a while (haven't been feeling too well) but I certainly missed everyone! :hug:javascript:insert_text('%20:hug:',%20''); The board has so much new to read and see.... you've all been very busy little bees.

I thought I would share the only thing I' been able to produce in several weeks time - Baby Bear and her bunny, Thimble Tea.  I'd so much like to hear what you think!!!!  Any suggestions?  I've considered adding some very tiny barely there claws to her hands and feet but can't make up my mind.  I can't seem to make up my mind about anything lately... thought about listing this pair on Ebay but can't decie about that eitherjavascript:insert_text('%20:redface:',%20'');

They're both made from sparse matted mohair from Intercal.  Baby has five joints; head and arms are wobbles.  The little sweater is knitted from lace weight alpaca and closes with vintage pearl buttons.  Baby is about 6 inches.  She fits perfectly curled up in your hand. ( It was a heck of a job to turn her bent legs!)  The little bunny is about 2.5 inches long and and close to 3 inches tall including her ears.

Okay... now I'm going to savor all the beautiful bears you've been making!  Thanks for looking at baby bear!

(((hugs)))

LuLu

P.S.  Special note to Penny.... I swear I did note steal your diaper idea.  I thought I was being so clever... until I saw your darling   Timmy!  You beat me to it!!javascript:insert_text('%20:(',%20'');

lulu

Hi Paula,

Your bears are always nothing less than stunning.  You sure have the knack for getting those bears right on the mark!

He's really makes me want to hug him...

LuLu

lulu

Oh, my!  They are just so cute and huggable looking!  I think the little panda is my favorite though.

LuLu

Congratulations, Shelli!  I wish I could go out and find a copy of the issue tonight!  Can't wait to see it...

You're artisitic vision and hard work are true inspirations for me.

Hooray for Shelli!

pugsie-left-ebay.jpgpugsie-2-ebay.jpgHi All,

I've missed everyone here the last day or so... have been hiding away working on Pugsie's design.  She's been fun and I learned a lot while trying to figure out how to construct her little body.  She's made from a lovely mohair from Intercal that has been just wonderful to work with... can't remember xactly what it is but I do have it saved in my little swatch book.  Her button nose started out as just a place holder until I embroidered her real nose but I think I've decided to keep it. (?)

I was trying for a vintage look for Pugsie and her little cushion.  What do you think?  Any suggestion on how I could improve her?

Hope it's okay that I squeezed her in among all the beautiful bruins... she was such a good girl while was taking her picture that I promise her I'd share it with the experts here!

Okay... I'd better get back to the rest of the board... so many new things here today!!!!!

Thanks for the look,

LuLu

lulu

Darn!  I knew I'd forget something important!

Gumdrop is about 7 1/2 inches tall.  I hadn't realized the spool he has next to him would throw the scale off a bit... it's a fairly large old wooden spool.

Thanks for all the kind words.  I feel like I know you guys already... from all my lurking about...
