Hi Richy
In one of the online TBCI mags, they have a good tutorial on toes. I hope it helps!
http://editions.pagesuite.co.uk//PageSu … ch%202007/
It's on page 72 ( I tried to link right to that page but....no can do!)

I'm from Edmonton, the capital city of Alberta, about 3.5 hrs north of Calgary.
Calgary has great shopping and is about an hours drive from the rocky mountains and real bears!
The only cowboys I have seen up close were of the 'urban' variety but you are definitely in the heart of cattle country so you never know. They film lots of movies there.
Heather (psichick) lives in Calgary so I'm sure she can give you the lowdown better!

I think that's the nature of the beast...locline really squeeks! Great product though, I would use it for a bear that I wanted to have a particular pose - not for one I wanted to move around alot.

Hi Jane
I'm in Edmonton & I looked for it at Michaels for a while and even asked about it until I saw the bottle and it actually says
"Bakable Transfer Color Medium" in big block letters and "Liquid Sculpey" in a wierd not easily read logo on the bottle. It was with the clays.
Good Luck!

I like to explore different ideas with a common theme (like the fish and rider in my avatar). I say they are "OOAK in Series" meaning they are similar but not identical to each other. The difference might be materials, accessories, pose, size or whatever but will have the same theme.
I don't use patterns generally, as I like to just draw on the fabric and cut it out but can still make the bears pretty accurately the same if I choose to.
I have never had a customer not buy because of this, in fact I have collectors who enjoy having more than one piece in a particular series just to compare them and see how the idea has 'progressed'
I don't know if this helps or not!

My 11 year old son loves them too! He is a cat lover and so has all the cat ones. The clerk at the store where we've gotten most of them, told me that it is almost exclusively BOYS that want them. How unusual is that?
Wyatt loves WebkinsWorld too!

Sweet, Nancy!
I like her the way she is or...maybe just a little primming (is that a word? bear_wacko ) not the
"I was in a massive trainwreck" kind of prim!

Wow Daphne...there must be some kind of connection between New England and western Canada (Alberta anyway)...Its been snowing here off and on for 3 days...Spring will you ever come????

Ok...Ok... I confess! bear_shocked  Sometimes when I can't get the highlights 'just right' I use photo editing software, and erase the offending spot and paint in a new one in exactly the right spot!

Oh my goodness, Sandra!
My son who is 11 went through something similar this year but it was a girl that was after him. No one would take it seriously because it was just a "puppy love" thing. She pushed and shoved him around and called him the most vicious names. There were also threats against him and he was terrified to even use the washroom. I honestly think she did have a 'crush' on him and was trying to get his attention but It was not a 'puppy love' thing, it was BULLYING and until we demanded action nothing was done. The girl was threatened with being expelled and her parents were brought into it. She was not allowed out at recess for 30 days and wrote an apology to my son. By that time, her attention turned elsewhere.

I generally like to allow kids to settle it on their own (with some guidance) and feel that the hysteria that some parents show is just ridiculous BUT...what you are describing has gone past the point of 'boys being boys' and I think you will have to demand that real action be taken. You should be able to feel safe at school and not be constantly looking over your shoulder and this could effect how your daughter feels about school for a long time.
I would plant myself in the principals office until these boys are removed from the playground and until they can behave like young gentlemen.
Again, just my 2 cents, but I feel for you, I really do!
  's for you and your little one,

What wonderful news Louise! We have a couple of friends that teach at NAIT and they love it! I hope the lack of financial perks is balanced out by personal satisfaction of sharing his knowledge with others.

I was googling some blogs this morning, and found this really interesting write up on Jennifer Murphy's ( bear_wub )bears written from a totally business 'Donald Trumpy' kind of guy. The link is to his followup but there is a link to his original comments. I thought it was an eyeopening read by someone who isn't enamoured with bears.

I was sure that there was an email that came out that said that rule was gonna be changed....
Unfortunately my New Years resolution was to not let my email inbox get unruly( 3000 emails = bear_wacko )and I delete stuff too quickly sometimes! Oh well...only 10 days away!

I knew I saw it somewhere! This was posted by Valerie of Bears and Buds on the Prof. members yahoo group for April.
I don't think its a big deal to post it here since its hardly trade secrets or anything!

From the little information that has come out so far (the new rules and categories and stuff will be in the Bears and Buds April edition) that rule will be changed so that anyone can enter. We'll know for sure in April!
Best of luck if you decide to enter bear_thumb

I'm so sorry to hear of your Grandma's passing - no matter how old we are, we are all little children when we think about our Grannies. I hope you will keep those wonderful memories close in the next little while.
   for you,

Cheryl

I was wondering about her and how your family was doing. It is good to know that she isn't in pain and I'm keeping you, your grandma and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
  for you,
Cheryl
