Teddy Talk: Creating, Collecting, Connecting

Hunny Belly is 15" tall (but can not stand on his own, too much hunny in his belly!!) and is made of fine mohair fabric. He is treated and aged to look like he has endured decades of loving hugs!!
He has antique boot button eyes, one of which is flawed. He has polka dot fabric paw pads and a patch around one of his eyes. He wears a (removable) clown hat and a vintage doll shirt with a polka dot collar.
He is 5-way cotter pin jointed the traditional way. He has stubby legs and long arms and is filled with pure wool for softness, mohair fabric scraps and wood wool for nice texture, and steel shot for weight. He is one of a kind original ToyboxArts design.
Floppy, cuddly and cute as a button!!!

I like to make the head from 4 pieces and sort of peanut shaped.. I make the same style heads for the elephants as well.

She is shy! She likes to hide behind her enormous ears and read books!

She is loosely stuffed and weighted with steel shot. I have aged her by carefully plucking and coloring with fabric dyes. She is wearing a genuine vintage flowery cotton dress.

Vintage style 12" (30 cm) monkey girl that I have carefully plucked and dyed to look like she has endured decades of loving hugs! She is filled with lamb's wool for softness, wood wool and mohair scraps for texture (and if she would ever need repairs, extra fabric would be found inside!) and steel shot for cuddly weight. She has 8 mm antique boot button eyes that glint mischievously! She also wears a genuine vintage dress that I have further aged.
She is my original design.
The sweet lion friend does not come with her.

I'm thinking I won't "age" her but I'll let my daughter do it for me hehe

I made this for my daughter for her 1st birthday! 12" monkey in vintage doll playsuit, in banana yellow of course! She has 8 mm antique boot button eyes. And yes, I let my daughter play with the monkey. I never leave her alone to play with her toys, I'm always there, it's securely sewn, and she doesn't even pull at they eyes etc.
I'm pretty happy with the design, I think she is quite monkey-like! The tail stays curled up without help.
She is calling on an antique telephone to order more bananas!

This is my second mohair bear, but the first I started- I got carried away with designing patterns while I was waiting for some supplies.
I used two small pieces of left over mohair from when my mom took a bear course.  This bear cub is 8" tall, aged and distressed, and he has 8mm matte black glass eyes, he is loosely stuffed and has steel shot for weight. The brown mohair was quite dense but I'm pleased at the aging of it. I wasn't sure it was going to work out!!!
