Oh they are so adorable! My dog is about to have puppies (any day now!!) and I dont know how I am ever gonna part with them.
Sonya, do you ever get attached and have to keep one...or two?
Congrats on your new babies!
Bear Hugs,
Kim
Wow! Ultrasounds have come along way in the past 6 years! I cant believe how clear those photos are! AMAZING!! I had to show hubby the pics and he was shocked at how you can see all the features...its like a sneak peek of baby before s/he is even born!
Thanks for sharing!
Bear Hugs,
Kim
Ok, I may have 5 kids, but I am sooooo out of the loop about these webkinz. I asked my 10 year old about them last night and he said he didnt know what they were. We did a search and found that they are like beanie babies...what is the draw to them? I just read something about the tag in this post....something about a code?? A code to what?
Bear Hugs,
Kim
As you can see by the photo, I just dropped some food out there for them so I could get some good pics. As far as rabies, I dont think they do, but I certainly dont want to find out. I havent heard of a case of rabies in years!
You should hear these critters eat! They snort and hiss at each other and sound so mean, but in reality, I can stand out there with them and I never feel threaten at all.
Well I'm off to get some work done.
Bear Hugs,
Kim
Wow...I have never heard of half of those animals...didn't realize I was so "uneducated" about animals in other countries! Boy do I feel dumb *hanging my head in shame*
I never thought about you not having pesky raccoons. I have 6 that visit my house often and actually sit at my sliding glass door and knock on the glass for more cat food!
Aww your missing out with the chipmunks and squirrels! I have several that reside in my backyard. I swear they stick around just to drive my dogs nuts with their chirping *grin* I'll trade ya a squirrel or raccoon for a koala!
I have attached a pic of some of our raccoons..note the one in the back "washing" his hands in the water bowl before he starts to eat.
*laughing* Tami, Im with you...I had no idea what it was..I was thinking hedgehog or small porcupine.
Ok, so here is a new question...what type of animal do we have here that they dont have there. You know, something we take for granted because we see it all the time......
Bear Hugs,
Kim
Im like you Paula. I HAVE to sell bears in order to pay the mortgage. My husband does work, but its not near enough to pay for everything, especially having 5 kids. Somedays I cant stand the pressure and other days I cant imagine myself doing anything else.
Bear Hugs,
Kim
I ship internationally too and I always use global priority. It tends to be a little cheaper then the global express and it normally gets there within 4-7 days. Never had a problem before.
If you go to usps.com, you can order all your custom forms and have them all filled out when you get to the PO. Its makes your life alot easier and the people standing in line behind you will thank you too *smiles*
Good luck to you
Bear Hugs,
Kim
I love PP too! Cant imagine not having it!
When you go into a store and use your PP card, it you select credit instead of debit, it gives you a few cents back. Also, another nice thing to know, if you use your PP card in a grocery store, post office etc...you can request up to $100 cash back and there is no fee. If you request cash out of an ATM, I get charged $3 ($1 from PP and $2 from my bank). I always get cash at the store and save myself a few dollars!
I hope this helps!
Bear Hugs,
Kim
Yes! I know who you are talking about! Her name is Anita Kelsey. I used to buy mohair from her years ago, but her and her husband sold their house here in Seattle and moved to Oregon. I may still have her phone # and I know you can get in touch with her through....(ughhhh, sorry everyone) Edinburgh Imports..she used to be a sales rep for them and I think she still sells patterns through them.
Bear Hugs,
Kim
Bobbie, dont take this to heart. I have had neg feedback from buyers the didnt pay me! Ha..what a joke that was! This was before the times when you could have the feedback removed and I just had to suck it up, but it is VERY frusterating!
You just need to realize that there are some people, no matter what you do, you will never ever be able to please them! This gal sounds like one of those people!
Best of luck to you
Bear Hugs,
Kim
Definately gotta be Steel Magnolias, Bridges of Madison County, I liked Bed of Roses (it doesnt get any more "chick flick then that!) Gosh I am drawing a blank here..once I send this, I will think of 12 more *smiles*
Oh I LOVE it when my hubby loads up the camper and heads off for the weekend with the kids. Its not very often I stay home, but it sure is nice and quite...almost erie quiet.
Enjoy your weekend!
Bear Hugs,
Kim
Ohhhhh they are ADORABLE!
I have a pit mix and I have 3 mini Dachshunds....if someone broke into my house, they stand a FAR greater chance of being bitten by my little dogs then my pit. He is a gentle giant and as sweet as pie. I truely believe these dogs have gotten a bad name because of how they were raised. If you raise them right and teach them "good manors" right from the start, you shouldnt have a problem at all.
We should be having Dachshund puppies within the next few weeks.....cant wait to see them! Mom is a red and Dad is a piebald...(in other words, he has the markings of a Beagle) Will they be spotted or solid colors?? The hard part is going to be not getting attached and wanting to keep them all!
Good luck with your sweet puppies. That is so wonderful that you took them in and are going to find them good homes where they will be loved forever! Maybe this lady knew you have a kind heart and thats why she chose your house *smiles*
Bear Hugs,
Kim
First let me start by saying congrats to all of you expecting! Its such an exciting time for you!!!
Kim, here is a goofy piece of advice .....stop "trying"! As silly as it sounds, we tried and tried with my second son and nothing..nada, zip! The minute we decided to stop trying, I was pregnant. I think we put too much stress on ourselves and it effects us greatly. When you really think about what it take to have a baby, its amazing that any of us ever have children...body temp has to be just right, ovulation, etc etc...all these things have to fall in line perfectly.
With our 4th pregnancy, we miscarried. My husband and I were devistated. Our Dr. told us that the body needs time to recover and I wouldnt get pregnant for at least six months. We prepared to wait the six months....I was pregnant again the next month! I really believe relaxation plays a key roll in whether we conceive or not.
I will be sending good thoughts your way!
Bear Hugs,
Kim
First let me start by saying I'm so sorry to hear you are going through this!
If I was you, I would request that the boys be handed out a punishment of having to sit in the restroom for one week full week at each recess so they know what she is going through every day. When kids start to lose their play time, they tend to stand up and take notice.
I agree 100% with what Chrissi said...the boys will be boys is a cop out and is only protecting the boys and not your daughter.
Where I live, we have a "No Bully Law" and the kids can get in serious trouble for being a bully or harassing other kids. It sounds like your situation has spun wildly out of control and its sad to say, but in this situation, you should possible file for a restraining order where these boys have to stay xx amount of feet away from her at all times. If you take this drastic step, not only can the boys be held accounable for their actions, but the school as well for not protecting her properly!
You daughter should be able to go out to play and not worry about these boys. She should be able to swing or play on the monkey bars with other little girls if she chooses to do so! Its not fair for her to fear recess time. All kids look forward to playing on the playground and your daughter has lost that joy!
Earlier this year, we had a boy who was harassing my son. He would say mean things, hit him, punch him in the stomach. The last straw for me was when he was standing in the line to get on the bus, not talking to this boy, not even facing towards this boy, and out of the blue, this kid ran up behind my son and pushed him in the back knocking my son to the ground. My son hurt himself in the fall because he was not expecting it at all. The school put my son on the bus and when I met my son at the bus stop, he was crying and told me what happened. The principle did call me right away and assured me that they would take care of the situation. The next day, the kid taunted my son that he didnt get in trouble at all. I was furious and contacted the principle. At that point, I had enough and told the school that if this boy ever touched my son ever again, I would file assult charges. We have never had a problem since. This child has been a problem for awhile and nobody ever stood up to him before, so he continued this behavior. My son and this bully are even in the same classoom and the school as well as the teacher have taken steps to keep them away from one another, and it has worked. The ironic part of this whole story, the kid that was harassing my son is now being harassed by the school bully! Earlier this week, he got a taste of his own medicine when the school bully popped him in the nose, knocking him to the ground and leaving him with a bloody nose. I guess what they say is true..what comes around, goes around. I wonder how his parents are feeling right now?? I wonder if they are as upset as I was.
I wish you the best of luck in your situation and I hope it is resolved soon!
Bear Hugs,
Kim
A BIG Congrats to your hubby! Yeah..thats great news. Sometimes you have to take a step backwards in pay in order to move forward, but it all works out in the end!
Im proud to say my oldest son, who is 19 and just graduated from HS last year, just got accepted into the Electrical Apprenticeship program here in Seattle. He has been working as a "half watt" for about 6 months and decided to take the steps to move forward towards his career goal....yeah! I'm so proud of him!!
Good Luck to you Garnet in your new job!
Bear Hugs,
Kim
I would use acrylic paints and dry brush them on....very easy to control the paint and placement. Lightly load your brush with paint, then I just use a piece of paper to rub most of it off until it is just a faint shadow, then apply to your bear. Like Kim mentioned above, I too use a blunt tip brush. I do also heat set mine after I am done.
Good luck!
Bear hugs,
Kim
*laughing* Im surely going to the slammer to do some hard time...Have tin cup, will travel (up and down the slammer bars singing Oh My Darlin' Clemetine)
I have done all of the above, from cutting the tags off the mattresses, to tearing the "do not remove" tag off my blow dryer....oh and I cant forget cutting the top off a priority mail label to use it for over seas shipping (my mail lady and I had a tiff over that one and I never did it again), as well as turning boxes inside out....done that many, many times! I use the priority shipping 95% of the time and over seas the other 5%...i dont see what the big deal is. Either way, I am paying alot of money for shipping, not to mention all the insurance I have paid for, yet never, ever filed a claim (knock on wood!). They get plenty of money from me, so for me to turn 1 or 2 boxes inside out for international shipping (which is quite a bit more expensive then priority), I dont think they should complain at all. Now it is harder to do that, as they have stamped PRIORITY all over the inside...smart little cookies aren't they!
I just think some people abuse the generousity of the PO and thats why things have gotten the way they are. I know they no longer give out priority tape...arrgghh! Big Bummer, but you knew it had to end sometime.....
Well this is just my two cents, not that it really matters *smiles*
Bear Hugs,
Kim
Whahoooooooooo...doing a happy dance (to Nickleback...tee hee) for you and your family! Thats absolutely FANTASTIC news! Thank you for sharing with all of us and for keeping us posted.
Bear hugs,
Kim
PS I do really like Nickleback, so i found his after surgery comment EXTREMELY hysterical...love his sense of humor!
Hey Brenda, having 5 kids of my own, I feel your pain! I quickly did an on-line search for home remedies and this is a little of what i have found (I have not tried any of these!!!)
If you puncture a piece of garlic and pour the juice in the ear it will help to take the pain away. Garlic has a natural antibiotic, so use it, and see if it helps. (I saw this on several sites)
Grind a few Holy basil leaves and extract some juice. Apply 2 drops inside the ear.
Boil 3-4 cloves of Garlic in some water. Mash them and add a pinch of salt. Wrap this poultice in a flannel or woolen cloth and place on the aching ear.
Put few drops of hydrogen peroxide in the aching ear.
heat a cup of salt in a frying pan until all the granules are hot; pour the heated salt into a sock and knot the end; test the warmth of the sock to make sure it's not hot enough to burn the skin; hold the sock against the painful ear.
This is copy and pasted from an article I was reading.....this is NOT my home remedy, but i do hope you find some of these helpful.
1. I went and got my garlic oil.
I made this by crushing a bulb of garlic and putting it in a small jar (4 ounces or even a baby food jar). I then filled that jar with olive oil to the top and let it sit. If you have an emergency, you could use some in about an hour after you get it going. Other wise, let it sit a day or more.
2. I warmed up the oil a little past room temperature.
3. I got a dropper and applied 2-3 drops in the affected ear. I put a little cotton on his ear. You can plug it in or tape a cotton ball on the ear.
4. I Made sure he was laying down for 15-20 minutes. I just put a movie on for him to watch.
You can apply this up to 4 times throughout the day. Any left over oil should be refrigerated.
Ear ache remedy variations…
In the above case, I used half garlic and half St. Johnswort Oil (Hypericum perforatum).
(I could have also used Mullein oil (Verbascum thapsus), but I was out at the time. Mullein flower oil is a very popular ear ache remedy.)
I also added 3 drops of Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE) into the oil and mixed it in. Click for more on GSE.
I hope that you find one of these to work for your little sweetie....from what I was reading, it seems garlic and peroxide seem to be the most common home remedies.
BIG Bear Hugs and well wishes to you Brenda!
Kim
