So I get home from work and my darling son says: "Oh, some mail came for you today, some cards and a package...I think its your ornament from those bear people"
Me: (still with coat on, briefcase in hand)"WHERE!!!! WHERE?????"
Son: "I don't know...I brought it in I think...I put it down somewhere probably..."
2 hours later...we still haven't found it!!! and its a SMALL house!

Has mine got to Canada yet ???? EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Well...I can't speak for all of Canada....
There has been huge storms in the East so if its going there it may be held up - apparently some folks won't make it home for Christmas
Cheryl
Congratulations Iva! I hope you have many happy years together!
Cheryl
My ornament went off last week and so I hope it reaches its new home in time! No trips across the water...but definitely went south....(nah, that would be telling too much!) All the ornaments have been so cute, each one different but I'd be happy to have any of them on my tree. Oooooo the anticipation
Does any one else get nervous that the recipient won't like what you made? Inquiring minds (or whats left of mine ) want to know!

For those who like things a bit gentler (and no swearing for sure!) try Alexander MCall Smith's "Number One Ladies Detective Agency" series - what a great read, so well written and kind of old fashioned good living advice - takes place in Botswana.
Oh Yeah....LOVE
that series! It is a fab series to listen to on CD - the ones we have are read by a woman with a fabulous African accent (sorry don't know where she's from exactly). My sister lived in Zimbabwe & Malawi for several years and says they take her back to Africa!

I've been on an IRELAND thing lately...have never been so I've been hitting the Maeve Binchy novels-in the middle of "Evening Class" which takes place in Dublin.
Cheryl
That's crazy Brenda! I'm really impressed with the quick police response though and I'm sure they prefer responding to a false alarm to what could have been the case!
Corson sure does make your life interesting doesn't he? So glad that everything worked out OK!
Bless you!
Cheryl
The best thing we can ever hope to do is to give 'hope' away to someone who needs it...and you've both done exactly that! Bless you both, Jenny & Aleta.

When I was learning to use my new machine, I struggled with going smoothly around the curves too because my new machine was so much faster than my old clunky one. I drew a bunch of curly wavy lines on some plain white paper, took all the thread out of my machine and just practiced stitching, following around the curves until I was comfortable. Now I'm like Jenny...one hand & two wheels!

This was so much fun last year...count me in again!
I will PM you Tami!
Thanks
Awww...thanks you guys!
I know I don't share much of what I make but I thought this girlie was kind of fun! She is the 'Maids a'milking" day. I wanted to take myself a little of my comfort zone and work with fabric (I usually use leather or suede) & do something a bit silly. I hope you like her...bosoms, hair curlers, terrified sheep & all!
Cheryl
Well...not that I'm aware of.... but I just had to write and say how gorgeous your babies are! Look at all that curly hair Both my husband and I have naturally curly hair and our son's hair is straight as a stick!
I hated my hair growing up but really kind of like it now...

I hope this tragic event (along with the other RCMP deaths in the last couple of years) will bring about some needed changes in the service especially in the North. Sadly, it usually takes tragedy to implement change. All of Canada should be saddened today.
Cheryl
Wow...I must be brilliant!
  Congratulations Penney!
Congrats Lisa....you have a marvelous (if maybe just slightly twisted ) imagination! You sure got my vote!
I thought the softies were so cute...I love ElsaMora's work so much...the snow dress
Cheryl
I think what you did is just fine! If she doesn't bother to follow up, it may give you a hint that she wasn't that seriously interested. Ebay can be so weird about stuff but they are also a great resource - better to err on the side of caution!
Cheryl
OOOOOOOOO...she is just gorgeous!
Congratulations! Isn't it just the best feeling in the world? (Being a Mom, I mean...not the other stuff )
Has Tony stopped smiling yet?
Cheryl
Congratulations to you and your hubby!
Another miracle (or 2) is on the way!
Cheryl
How is your Baby Cheryl?
Hugs,
Melanie
Actually, he's not doing very well. He definitely has Kennel Cough and has a high fever. His vet said there are new virulent strains that are more resistant to antibiotics. If he's not showing improvement in the next couple of days, with the antibiotics, he will be hospitalized with stronger drugs until he recovers. Fortunately, with his adoption pkg, he gets 6 weeks of free medical insurance so that should cover most of the costs. We aren't rich by any means so that helps a lot. We are going to enroll in the insurance program at the end of the 6 weeks...boy it gets expensive quick!
Cheryl
Thanks for all your good wishes for Jackson! He woke up this morning wheezing and coughing and very listless so I think he has Kennel Cough. Off to the vet this afternoon (if they can squeeze us in) to be sure- I hope its not more serious.
BTW, he came with the name Jackson and it seemed to suit him perfectly!
