Oh it's wonderful to hear from you. Sorry to hear about the infection! Hope you heal really quickly, and happy birthday!
I have been glued to the TV watching the horrible news coming in. I had to get online and wish my British friends and their families the best - our thoughts are with you all.
Such terrible terrible news.

Oh congratulations !!!! That's great news. But I hope the head of the Olympic Commitee doesn't proclaim that the 2012 olympics were the BEST ever.. Because, you Poms WON'T beat our Sydney 2000 games! LOL
Yep, I'll echo what everyone else said. Looking forward to hearing all went OK

I just wanted to comment on the bear, it is sooo cute! I love the mohair!
Well done, and good luck! I am sure people who have been around the traps longer than I have will have some idea of what to do!
Danni
Oh welcome!! You're going to love it here. I'm sorry I can't help out with the mohair, but I'm sure you'll find someone who can!
Danni
Some people!!!!!!!!!
I hope you stopped her before the nail reached the nose in time Sue Ann!! Geeeee!! That would have given me a heart attack I think! LOL

Ooh okay, so I'm guessing that Micron comes from the fact that the tip is tiny. I will have to look into them and see if they are available here in Australia. They sound good.
I use a plain old fine Felt Tipped pen in black. When I use a black mohair, I use a gold gel pen.
Thanks Shelli!

Hi Everyone,
Good topic, like you I love Upholstrey Thread. I also use it for everything, from handstitching the whole bear, gathering, sinking eyes, and my sculpting. I use the Serafil brand, that is fantastic. However, I am only able to get about 7 colours in the thread, and would love more. So, does anyone know of any good sources where I can perhaps get more colours?
Thanks,
Danni
Shelli, is Micron a felt tipped pen??
I love the idea of the new forum by the way! Thanks.

Oh wow, that's very fun! 4th of July, really means nothing to us people who are overseas, but I wanted to wish everyone a happy 4th of July anyhow! Have a great day!

Dilu, you are such a sweet angel. I just have one question. You're saying to use iton the fabric and then spritz it away. But don't we need the markings for say, arm and leg joints ???
I'm confused... not too difficult to do that to me though :o
Hi Millie,
I dont know the group in question, but it sounds like a good group to belong to! There are bear making discussion groups, groups to advertise your auctions on etc.
I have used Yahoo Groups for a long time and LOVE them - I'm guessing that Yahoo is the host of this group?
Would you mind forwarding the email or tell me the name of the group so I can join? LOL
THanks,
Danni
Yes, I have to see the movie, I really want to!!!!!!!! It wasn't you griping about Off Topics was it.... now I am so confused!!
Ahhh okay! Well, I'm sure Willy will do so well for you! It was my mostest favouritist book and movie when I was young. That was until my uncle tapped over the movie.. GRRRR..
Danni
Good Luck RITA!!! You'll be fine I'm sure! We will all be thinking of you!

Ooh what lovely replies everyone!! I agree with you Dilu!! I think what you said was lovely... I was asking more as a means to find out if the bears that truley "speak" to you are the type of bears that you personally make.
I appreciate everyone's answers. Marie, I have no doubt taht you are already making artist bears. The bear in your avatar is an artist quality bear, so you really need to be proud of your art work!!
Thanks ladies for fantastic replies. Personally, I find myself more drawn to the character bears than to the ones with sweet soft faces. When I started making bears, I really had no idea what my style was going to be. However, I tried a charactery looking bear with the pinched in face, and that was it. My fate was sealed. I still thought I would be making large bears, until I tried a smaller bear. And again, my heart just fell inlove with the smaller bears.
One of my favourite artist is Ilze Linssen. Funnily enough, she actually lives in the same state as me - not far away. I have talked to her on the phone a couple of times, but I haven't met her, or seen her work in the flesh. If you would like to check her out, here's her web address: http://www.bearzbyilze.com.au
I just wanted to thank everyone who responded. You are all very sweet!!
Danni
