For artists and collectors sponsored by Intercal...your mohair supplier and Johnna's Mohair Store
Thank you very much, Elle. I'll be trying them out.
I don't know if you have seen my page on Facebook "DallyMay Teddies". I'm also on Facebook as "Coraleen Kershaw". Other SA artists are Natalia Oelofse, Megan Wallace and Dianne Bester. I'll let you know of the others. There is also a page for "South African Teddybear Artists" which you can join.
Does anyone have a pattern for or can describe how to make little teddies out of pipe cleaners. I've been wanting to do it for so long and have tried a few times but I just can't get it right.
Its the same here in South Africa. Postal rates are exhorbitant so ordering from overseas is just not viable anymore. Even imported Mohair from the suppliers is very expensive and I'm sure that's because of the ridiculous shipping rates. It makes me so sad that I have to slow down on my bear making because its becoming unaffordable.
A tip I also learned is not to cut your piece of thread from the bobbin until it is threaded through the needle. That way you thread the cotton from the correct end and it doesn't twist or not. Hope that makes sense!
Thank you so much for starting this thread, Nan. I've been feeling so inadequate with my bear-making as if I couldn't get anything right and now I know it happens to other bear people too. I'm inspired by all of you that have written on this thread.......so ON WE GO with the next bear!!!

Never Ending Story: The Early Years!
Hi everyone
I usually have about six bears on the go but I wish I could get into my head to start one bear at a time and finish it.
Coraleen
Such a pretty little kitty
errrrr, how many cats are there?
Sweet
Oh, how beautiful!!!
What a beautiful photo. Its so sad to think that these beautiful animals are on the bring of extinction in the wild. 100 rhinos have been killed by poachers so far this year.
Can a cat get sooooooo comfortable!
I come onto this forum just about every day. Its so nice to see what other teddybear maniacs are talking about and to connect with others in the teddybear world.
Wow, it IS a small world!
Hi Alena, your daughter is beautiful and your photography is excellent.
Hi Emma, your bear is going to be gorgeous. What town in West Yorkshire do you live in. My sister lives in Haworth, near Keighley.
Thanks so much Paula, and may 2012 be a great year for you as well. Hugs.

That is definately one of Ellen Borgreve's. She makes the most beautiful animals. If you Google "Ellen Borgreve" you will get to her website! Hugs!
Wow, that is an awful lot of snaps! I don't think I've sewn that many in my life and I'm 56.
Hi Thelma. Your bear is beautiful and the embroidered nose is incredible.
What beautiful bears. I also like the one with the bird's nest. He has a lovely expression.
