Hi all,
Well, Andy is packing his bags and heading to Minnesota this week, having spent a week or two longer in Bonners Ferry, Idaho than originally intended!  David was moving, and changing jobs at the same time, plus the boys in his home (he runs a group home) were having too much fun with Andy!

Andy's stint as co-coach for their Lacrosse team went well, as he helped them win their games.

Last week, my daughter (who lives in Seattle), went to Idaho to visit her brother, so they took a ton of Andy pics, and here's one of Lea, Andy and David.
lbd.jpg

Ah, yes... camera phones.. gotta love them!  It was a great mother's day present for me to get some pics! FINALLY!

And here's one of the other darling little "bear"

Lea, Liliana, and her daddy, David.

Will post an update when I hear from Andy's new host in Minnesota!

Aw, Debbie, that's so sad!  I feel the same way about my chickens, ducks and geese.  And yeah, vets are the same here about them.  Although, my mother-in-law did find a vet for one of her ducks when it was attacked by something (I think a raccoon), and the bill was $300, yes, they did save the duck... and one of the receptionists was a "rescue", so she took the duck in (AFTER the bill was paid, of course! )

They all get to be so special.

We have a little Sultan Bantam roo here that's five years old now, the only chicken we had til this year (when I got 30 more banties), and he's the biggest pet, if anything happened to him, we'd both be crying our eyes out.  They're never "just a chicken" to us.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Volkswagen Bugs!  LOL.  I found one on the road one time.  Then found another.  Just little metal toys, not even matchboxes.  Someone saw the two of them sitting on a shelf, and thought I needed another... and they bought me a matchbox VW Bug.  (the old fashioned bug, not the newer one).  Then someone got me a Transformer (remember the old ones?  LOL, now they're back in style again!) VW Bug.  And a few more here and there, next thing I knew, I had quite a collection of VW Bugs.  (still looking for more too!)  I don't actively go out of my way to collect them... they just seem to find me bear_original

My daughter collected My Little Ponies, and I just came across the case of them the other day.

Books: tons of books on tons of subjects, not to mention fiction of all types.  Horse books of all types.  And my daughter's old Fear Street RL Stine books... she had tons of them!

Awww!  How cute!  I love seeing all the changes Yorkies go through from birth till their adult coat!  Are yours blue and gold or black and tans?

I remember when Maggie arrived... by plane, tiny airport on a small shuttle plane that ran between the city where she came from and just outside the town where I lived.  I got there, and they had her little crate behind the counter and everyone was just HOPING that her mommy wouldn't come and claim her (fat chance!)  Yorkie pups are soooo darned adorable!  I had been waiting for Maggie for quite some time bear_original  No way was I NOT going to claim her!  Wow... hard to believe, but that was... 17 yrs ago!  And she's still ruler of the roost bear_original  Never did breed her, though I had fully intended to... oh, well!  Probably best anyhow, cos I don't think I ever would have let any puppies LEAVE!  LOL!

Thanks for sharting Sonya, I love seeing them grow up!  Too bad you can't transmit puppy breath too bear_original

Woohoo!  Don't I know it!  I HATE the short days, and then all that rain and gloom...ugh!  Most of New Jersey was flooded.  And now all these beautiful sunny days this week!  Just what I needed to snap out of this winter blah syndrome!

Going to be 87 today, it is supposed to be nice and hot all week long!  Boy am I glad too... two foals due any time now... thank heavens they waited for the warm dry weather!

Finally get a chance to get some of the outside work done!

My ducks are having a blast going up and down the hill to the creek, swimming, then sunning themselves.

Baby chicks are here and in the brooder...that always signifies spring to me too :)

FINALLY!!!  SUNSHINE!!  YAYYYYY!!!!

PaintsNMinis

Interesting subject!  I LOVE your cats!  One of these days....  I'll own one bear_original

Well, if it helps... Afghan Hounds think (know... they KNOW!) they are royalty, and expect to be treated as such.  We've had a long line of them, used to show them, and are on our last one now.  And while he has his playful moments, he still insists that everyone bow down to him!  Though the Dog IQ test puts them at the bottom of the list, they really are extremely intelligent, as they figure out ways to get everyone else to do the dirty work for them.  My daughter's Affie opens drawers, and eats all her flavored lip glosses bear_original  She also takes all the clothes out of the drawers and builds a nest to sleep in. (And I honestly thought my daughter was lying when she said this... just thought she hadn't put her clothes away, until I saw it for myself!)

Our Portuguese Water Dogs are total clowns.  They know when you need a laugh, and are always trying to get one from you.  Total jesters, to the royal Affies of course!

German Shepherds... well, they can do everything and anything and love to impress you with what they can do.  I love the look on Chrissi's "puppy".  So funny!  Sheps would be... magicians bear_original  One of mine is really good at making food disappear off the counter without you ever seeing her do it. bear_original  Extremely athletic, and of course, they are excellent search and rescue dogs, and tracking dogs (I can never hide from Bella!), and police dogs bear_original

Yorkies are doll babies bear_original  Plain and simple bear_original

Well, that's a run down on the dogs we have here bear_original  Hope that helps some?

LOL, I wish *I* could be going with Andy!  Haven't seen my son in ages... and have yet to meet his little girl **GASP**... I guess that makes her my... **GULP** granddaughter?  Nah... that can't be right!  I'm not old enough!  *hee hee*

Now... take a house full of teenage boys and a teddy bear... and you come up with all kinds of interesting things!  Andy's visit has been one of the most fun experiences they've had.  They come up with all kinds of ideas on doing photo shoots with Andy.  And of course, they come up with some very interesting proposals such as giving Andy a GPS tracking device collar, so they can track "where's Andy NOW?" on satellite/internet.   bear_rolleyes   These kids are having a blast with Andy!

And... several of the kids have called home to see if their folks will host Andy!  So, from northern Idaho, Andy is making a stop in MN to visit with one of the boy's mom & dad.  Then... he comes to New Jersey.  And then... well... guess we'll see where Andy goes!  One of the boys comes from NC, another from VA, and they INSIST Andy MUST go visit them too!

I'm tickled by how much interest these teens have shown in Andy!   I'm sure he will have quite a few memories of his Idaho vacation!

Robyn
PS... they won the Lacrosse game... and won a second this week, got their pics in the paper including... the co-coach Andy!

Yup, definitely report them.  Either file a dispute with PayPal or through eBay!  I just read the description.  She states it is a JACKET... then describes it as a cape-like jacket.  NOT a CAPE.  Of course, she doesn't mention sleeves in her description, but...

and...she states it is MINK.

So... there you have it... she can check all she wants, but she IS in the wrong!

PaintsNMinis

I'd file a complaint with eBay.  Item NOT as described.  It is described as MINK... it's rabbit.  Even if the photos are of the item you received... the item is NOT as described (Mink).

The other thing I'd do is... if you're using Internet Explorer... while you have the ebay auction page listing this item open, File, Send, Page by email.  That way you have a copy of the page AS IT IS WRITTEN (in case she tries to make changes to it).

There is a complaint form on there somewhere to file with eBay that the item is NOT as described (mink).  And while she can state that she does NOT offer Refunds or accept Returns, or pay the full shipping back, etc... if she is sending out a RABBIT FUR and describes it as MINK... then she HAS to take it back.  I was reading thru the community postings awhile ago on eBay and someone had sold something that stated it was 14K gold, and stamped on the medallion that it was 14K gold.  The buyer had it tested, it was NOT 14K gold... and he filed a complaint.  The seller was the one who was asking for assitance, did she HAVE to refund everything as he requested even though it stated NO RETURNS... and the answer was YES, since she described it as 14K gold, and it was NOT... she had to accept the return, and refund everything...

Since she already left positive feedback, she cannot retract that.  She can, however, add a comment to the feedback she left saying something negative...but it will NOT retract from the positive she already left.  And you can always leave a comment to the comment stating that "item NOT mink as described, item was RABBIT FUR".  :)

eBay will stand in YOUR favor, not hers...

good luck!

hee hee hee

Let's see... in the attic space over the kitchen I have two HUGE trunks filled with fabric that I have dragged all over for...oh, 20 yrs!  I have fur in there that I used for making my first bears...in Arizona!  LOL.

In the *little room*  I have five storage containers of various fabrics, and one container filled with little (5" or so) bears for waxing.  In the bedroom, I have four file boxes filled with fabric in the closet, and a full cupboard filled with fabric (armoire), and five more storage containers (the sterilite/rubbermaid types).  In the pool room, I have another four containers (my friend decided to get rid of her stash...six contractor bags full, of COURSE I took it!, then divided it with my MIL).  In the living room, two more behind the sofa, and in the front porch another one.

And on top of that... LOL, I have this neat container (just right for mini fabrics!  LOL!) filled with a piece of this, a piece of that, and my Sassy fur orders!  hee hee....

And yet, this silly man seems to think I might have ENOUGH?  bear_original

Last night, Andy co-coached a Lacrosse game... waiting now to hear the score!

Andy is going to school this week!  2nd grade...after all, he is still a youngster!  He'll be helping the teacher with a presentation about Asian Animals, and giving info about the Moon Bears.  :)

Then... Andy is going on Blake's (friend of my son) first solo flight for his solo test on his pilot license!  WOW!

And, he'll be going to Canada to visit a wildlife center there!

Andy has a very busy two weeks ahead of him!

David (my son) is a counselor at Northwoods, and has a group home /halfway house for boys at the center (substance abuse).  The center is one of the best in the US, and the kids there come from all over.  One of the boys there is asking his parents if they will also host Andy (they live in NC), and one of the former students there would like Andy to visit in Washington DC (Ellen, I'll email you privately about him, interesting place for Andy to go visit!)

So, Andy is having a great time!  And hopefully he still has many more weeks of adventures coming up!

Sassy fabric is wonderful!  I made up a bear out of my first batch, while waiting for the second batch to arrive!  SOOO nice to work with!  Easy on the hands (soft, easy to hand stitch) and I just love the bear I made (now to take pics!... which means setting up this whole lightbox set-up DH bought me...trying to find room to put it!)

My second order is just as wonderful!  Thank you Stephanie!

The best part... my orders arrived in two days!  I hate waiting for things, so Stephanie's fast shipping, and priority mail are fantastic!

Yup... one happy customer, and I'll definitely be back for more!  (DH says I have to use up some of the stuff I have first...silly man, he simply does not understand fabric stashing!)

Robyn in windy, chilly, NJ... where IS SPRING????

I got a call today to let me know that Andy had arrived at my son's in beautiful Bonners Ferry, Idaho, after his visit with Ellen's daughter in Spokane.

Tomorrow night, Andy is going to co-coach a lacrosse game :), and this weekend, he's taking a trip to Canada.  He's already been properly introduced to all the Elmo's and My Little Ponies in the house, and has a busy week lined up for him!

Sounds like Andy will have a fun visit in northern Idaho!  Photos to come soon!

Beautiful!  I agree, serene colors, and VERY fast loading (I hate waiting for flash, videos, and huge photos to load).

Love all the bears too, of course, it is so hard to believe they are crocheted!

Awww!!!  They're so CUTE!

Our household is ruled by a 3.5 lb, 17 yr old yorkie!  Amazing little dog!  She still has the big dogs backing away from her, and keeps everyone in line!

Congratulations!

PaintsNMinis

oooo, so many cute furkids!
I can't post pics of all of ours, it would take up too much bandwidth... 22 horses, 6 dogs, 3 parrots, 9 finches, 34 day old banty chicks, geese, ducks, feral cats, house cats... lol.

This is Nik & Sahara.  Long story on both of them, but both were saved from the slaughterhouse (in Nik's case... 3 times I saved his sorry self bear_original  tn_ns23d.gif

This is Athena, one of our Paints, (aka Doc Side Bar).

This is Bella, my constant shadow, German Shepherd that was rescued on the streets of Taipei, Taiwan and came here to live.  She's 15 yrs old now, and has yet to slow down *sigh*

I'm still here, Ellen!  Was checking to see how Andy's journey was going, and where he was!

Gee, while he is in Spokane, he should drop over the border to Bonner's Ferry and go visit my son and his family bear_original

Will watch for more updates!  BTW... new email address (I just made sure it got changed in my profile!)

I can certainly understand the excitement!  bear_original  I ordered some Sassy fur on Sunday, it was here on Wednesday!  WOW!  I LOVE this!  So... what did I do?  Last night... ordered some more:)  I'm kinda sampling my way through all the different types.  Added in some cotter pin joint sets in different sizes, so I can *see* which ones work the way I want (hard to visualize sizes online and *for real* for me),and I'm sure when they get here I'll be doing yet another order!  LOL!  Now to MAKE something, ha ha... I am just enjoying looking at this and feeling it, soooo soft and cuddly!

Robyn (finally getting back into making critters bear_original

COOL!  You got to see Mimzy in action!!!  Now, what **I** would do   bear_innocent  is go to http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0768212/ and go to FAQ, (or if they have the Trivia part open!) and add the fact that YOU Created MIMZY!   bear_original   And maybe add your website bear_original

Congratulations!  Glad you got **SOME** recognition bear_original

Robyn
(I keep forgetting to come back here!  Been soooo busy lately, but I've been tracking Mimzy bear_original )

PaintsNMinis

Wow!  Cannot believe the lengths people will go to to scam others!

Is there a way to add to your listing after it has sold?  Maybe put something on there about how you are aware that people are receiving 2nd chance offers on this item, and they are NOT being sent from you?  OMG, if someone doesn't contact you and tries to buy it...what happens then?  *yikes*

Hope eBay can put a stop to this person.

I guess this is why a lot of bear sellers sell their bears as private auctions, so others don't have access to who has bid?

FOR THE BEST LAUGH EVER..BUY the DVD I THINK it's called Blue Collared Workers, have to go over the house and double check, we have 2 different DVD's of theirs so far, hope they put out more...it's 4 American Guys taking the mickey out of the USA but mostly about Rednecks..the most funniest blokes i've ever watched...must see it..you'll find them hilarious.

YES!  The Blue Collar Comedy Tour !  LOL!  Jeff Foxworthy (You might be a redneck if...), Bill Engvall (Here's Your Sign), Larry The Cable Guy & Ron White.  They are an absolute riot!  Their shows are on the Comedy Channel here all the time.  Bill Engvall is an absolute riot... if you like him in the Blue Comedy Tour, he's got his own CD, and listening to it while driving down the road can be hazardous!   bear_laugh

This month's Teddy Bear & Friends magazine has a great crochet pattern by Berta (ThreadTeds) in it.  The Crochet A Day calendar also had an excellent pattern in it.  Or you could go to yahoogroups and join threadanimals, WAM-Y, and in their files, they have patterns free to their members.

Hope that helps!

Beware...once you start this.... it gets very addicting!  LOL!

Yep, like bats... i think they're kinda cute (as long as they don't have rabies...then they scare me)  We had some in the attic one year, they kept our back deck clear of bugs, was nice sitting out there that year.  Then they left on Labor Day weekend... counted 85 before we gave up... and they never came back!  They must have had one heck of a party to get that many in there!

According to IMDB.com, Doris Day is still alive (at least they don't list a date of death for her)
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000013/  and I know she is busy with the Doris Day Animal Foundation http://www.ddaf.org.

Is that the Caron Cosi?  Love it!   bear_thumb My Puss In Boots was made with it, and I've got two teddies I'm finishing up now that were also done with it.  It's fun to work with, and I LOVE the way the kritters turn out when done!  Now that I've finally got a light tent (DH is a sweetie!) and lights, guess I gotta get some good pics now! bear_original
