ps any ideas for a name i couldnt think of one that suits him
hi everyone,
i thought it might be interesting to start a post where everyone can show off their first bears(you know those mis-shapen no eared things that are hiding in our homes somewhere, not to mention our hearts, lol)
so please feel free to post a picture and tell us all about it
to get the ball rolling heres a pic of my first bear .....lop (cause he's a tad lop sided!)
Michelle - thank you very much
your bear in the side pic is adorable every time i look at it it seems to look right back
how long have you been creating bears??im only a begginer but im hooked and hope to be for a long time
Thanks all for such nice comments
hey sounds like fun
as im new here how do challenges work, etc how do i enter?
hi again
ive made a new mini just thought id share with you all
i called him professor cause his wacky hair reminds me of a mad scientist!!
i think hes the best ive made yet as far as stitching and neatness goes ,
How do all you mini makers get everything so neat and perfect??
hes about 6 cm sitting and made of some sorta yellow fabric(it was in a discount bin)his limbs are string jointed and his head is lucky to be on, quite frankly - i started out with a cotter pin joint but it wouldnt fit(too big)so i took the disk out and just used the pin to hold it in place, with some stitching too, oh and his eyes are only pins which i drew on but they will have to do for now as i didnt have eyes small enough
i like him tho!!
hi all
just thought id mention that ive started making an even smaller bear than the one above(again tiny not well made!!)but christmas being upon us has suspended all work for the moment ill post a pic once i get it finished(or should i say IF i get it finished - very frustrating these little bears!)
Articicle - do you know how that tiny bear is made? i thought maybe it was needle felted cause its soooo small but very neat(but maybe its just only me who cant hide stitching on such little space )
bye
or as tigger would say
TTFN( ta ta for now)
ps... id fail!!!!
from top of head to bottom is about 26 - 27 mm
sorry its not accurate but i dont have a mesuring tape only a ruler!
only took about 2 hours to make and about 1 1/2 of them were turning the pieces(it was a rush job just to see if i could)
another challenge to go with the one u suggested could be see who can make the smallest with the least swearing )
pps i said it was tiny ...not well stitched!! lol
(that flash shows everything)
hi everyone
tonight i got to thinking about little bears.i wondered how small i could make one so i got my sewing stuff out and here is the result(see pic)
ps whats the smallest bear anybody here has made??
anyway bye for now
hi shes about 8 or 9 cms so not a mini mini but i have made a little baby bear thats only 3 cms!
thanks for the nice replys
hi all
i thought id put pics of my bears in here for you all to see. ive only been making bears or for that matter sewing at all for about a year and have so far made only a hand ful of bears and while im not yet up to the same standards as others on this site, i hope to be one day.ive so far designed a couple of my own patterns which is somthing i never thought id be able to do so theres hope for me yet..lol anyway here they are
ps the pink and white one and the mother and baby and the clownish one are minis(my designs)exept the tiny baby.
hello, here is a pic of my first mini .not sure if im cut out for it however as i get very frustrated turning (or rather not turning!!) the small pieces
but mini bears intrest me alot...all that character - tiny little bear! some of them ive seen on the net are amazing.i can only think longingly of all that patience the makers must have
anyhow bye (for now)
