Yes indeed Steven....... it is just across the street from my front room window.. However, I do have to admit...it was taken last year. A late winter/early spring snow storm... what fun hey? It looks beautiful...I love it too. This year we don't have quite that much... but it is a few months yet til motorcycle weather!..so it could happen still............................. I will keep you posted..................
Steven...come for a visit to Canada and hone your shovelling skills...hahahhaha
Amazon.com? Chapters or Indigo?
or any book ordering place closer to you?
Won Kee Woo.......perfect!!! hahhahah Penny.... u crack me up! sitting here having a great laff for my day....
A pattern or two for your first go-rounds with bears is not a terrible idea either......
Krista .... maybe just wait a bit longer for her answer, she could be away from her computer for a few days. It says u have 10 days from the end date to pay....and it just says that she is in the habit of leaving neg. feedback..not that she WILL after that short amount of time.... I bet it will all get sorted out as soon as she contacts you.
Also, if it is just for a small amount of money... (u didn't say how many you actually purchased).... perhaps you could stick a $20 in a card and mail it to her??... it is hard to know how that will go without a few communications with a person...but I have done the cash bit and have had good success with the ones I have done so far. They were all happy not to have to pay Paypal for a transaction. Or,... this could all end up being a lesson I suppose. It actually does say under the payment part...that she accepst Paypal from the U.S. and only to confirmed addresses...and then in the next paragraph...it does say money orders for Canadians. You really have to read and re-read all the tiny print before clicking that pay now button. Hope it all gets settled fairly for you in the end.....
That is a little sweetie Natasha! Yep... I think it is the dainty little nose that makes her a "she"
Anybody know where I can apply for the job of Teddy Bear Fair inspector?? I WANT that job!
Awwwww ..... too cute.... great way to start the day... tx Jane.
Boy.... I was typing reaaaaalllly slow! hahahah u girls got in several posts while I was thinking....... geeeeez
Here is a better definition: a person who acts as a decoy or confederate of a barker, peddler or gambler in order to influence bystanders to bid, buy, bet etc...
they are usually friends or relatives of ebay sellers who put in phony bids to drive up the price... they know they will not have to buy the product at the end of the auction... the seller will notify the next lowest bidder that they have won, usually claiming non payment by the winning bidder.. (their buddy)... and voila... the second highest bidder just bought somebody's product for more than they would have...... in this case...a bear. Actually it goes on quite a bit even without the hidden bidder option...
Don't think anybody could add to what Bobbie gave you.....that is the most complete, detailed, yet concise, effort anyone could make ...
highlight, copy to word..print it out and keep it with your bear making stuff...........................
That mysterious system called "postal"....
guess what I got today? a Christmas card from a doll making friend in Serbia...she mailed it December 09 ! ahhahahha it even had air mail stickers all over it...so it flew..but I wonder where inthe world it actually went? if cards could talk hey?
ahhhhhhhh.,,,, that made it worthwhile then......
Got my first card today ...thanks TamiL for a beautiful card...love the pic of your little guy on the front....
If you are doing fairs or shows as a hobby and it is not a business one would hope there is a difference. I can see if you are a bear selling business that you must do taxes and the whole shmear...you should be doing that each year anyway........ but come on.... selling a few bears? Who would even be charging the taxes? good old Canada once again...no wonder people try to work around all the obscure laws and bylaws.. what a crock.........
Daphne started another thread in techniques that was titled "Do you ever do too much?" ....check it out... several suggestions on there
Don't worry Dilu...it will never happen. Canada is already not noticing any good from NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement)... free trade...what a joke that is... any new unions or new agreements would be about the same...no appreciable difference for the ordinary joe... notice I spelled it with a small J because that is what we all are..."nothings" really when it comes to business ventures and free trade unless we are BIG corporations here..i. ... and if you are talking about Canada just "becoming" part of a "big happy family" of states..... trust me it ain't gonna happen.................. hahahhaha........
The reason UPS (which by the way is NOT your United States postal service..it is the "Brown guys" Parcel Service but most people don't seem to understand that ) is because they have their own system of conducting business. If they have to get your parcel through customs...they charge us for it.... and they set their own charges as well as they also have their own rates for the actual shipping.....so by the time we receive parcels carried by them.... we pay about twice the amount of what anything is worth.
On the other hand..if u send it through the regular mail....that would be your USPS........United States Postal Service............ then Canada Post gets its cut...although at least they only charge a flat rate of $5 if the customs people have to handle any parcel. If for some reason...things bypass customs...we only pay taxes on the amount of our purchase (we pay on any amount above $20 for purchases)......But if it is a gift...we also have to pay taxes on any amount above $60. Also if it is sent as a gift.... you must make sure u wrap it in some nice paper and/or send a card or note with it so that we have proof it is not a purchase....... because if they open it and it appears to be a purchase...then we get charged accordingly.
Wow..that was quick... alright! Now of course I am wishing I had time to do handmade ones. But, was finishing up a doll for a challenge..so...next time!
Yeh,.... we were about to have a bun fight... darn it........ hahahhahahahha
Penny was even bleaching her mustche and hanging out in her jammies and dressing gown.... it was just getting to be fun! .... sigh.........
Wow Kim.......she is beautiful. What a lot of work you did on her.
I must delve deeper into this "double jointed" thingy u speak of.. ....disc of fabric?.. hmmmm something I don't know anything about....
Denise... you could use just enough of a stick type stay soft glue to hold the lining to the fur piece and then use alligator clips to hold it all together while you stitch it. I use many clips all along a seam as I go...just moving them along when I get to each clip now this piece is not fur but mohair...but it give you the idea of the clip thingy...
hey look...it worked....I stole him for you Shane....hhahahhaha
Cute little guy
I still embroider noses on my felties... then you can wax or varnish or whatever...but have not tried anything on the wool. I wonder if 3D lacquer would work....I will check to see if I have some and try it....
Krista...did u paint on the varnish with a small brush so as not to incorporate much air? Just gently spread it on? what about a shiny black paint? ..... but it seems like it would almost need wax or something to fill in the voids to get a smooth surface for the varnish or paint or whatever.....maybe Bobbie will show up and have an answer......
