sarahjane

These are the reasons I haven't started a mailing list yet.... bear_ermm   It's on my things to do list but I have all these types of issues and questions I need to sort out!!!

And does anyone know if you are allowed to put a mailing list link on your ebay auction page????

sarahjane

Oh Shelley you poor thing!!!! I hope it never happens again too....Here's hoping I've started a trend!!!

sarahjane

Dilu I know exactly what you are saying...everytime I get anywhere near the full commitment I talk myself out of one or two........ bear_ermm

sarahjane

Krista it does make you wonder...after waiting 8 hours last week then canceling...I scheduled mine this week and had instant results!!!  bear_ermm

sarahjane

Shelli I don't think you stepped on anyones toes....or at least not mine and that's what's important..

I have been really interested in everyone's opinions here and am even more sitting on the fence now than I was before!!!     bear_original

sarahjane

Thanks everyone for your input....you all have some very valid points and have given me a lot to think about....Bobbie I didn't know there was any such thing as an ebay university!!!! It is very interesting to hear there view of the situation!!!

sarahjane

Well I just had an auction go on to ebay and amazingly enough it was showing on both sites withing 10 minutes of the start time.....might have even been earlier but that was when I looked.

I wanna know why it can't do that every time!!!

sarahjane

Sabine the bidder 1, bidder 2 thing only kicks in once an item reaches $200 or more....(I think!!)

sarahjane

Oh Lisa they all look so great together!!! I love the little one she looks fabulous just sitting there in the front!!!

How big are they??

sarahjane

Lynette I am so sorry to hear this...my thoughts are with you and with Eva's young husband and family at this time...Life can seem so unfair at times!!

sarahjane

Chloe I can't get on to your website at all at the moment.....It could be a server breakdown, I would wait a while and try again.

sarahjane

Hi everyone....it is really good to hear everyone's opinions on this topic....I can understand all the points of view..and as such I am still wavering on when I should leave feedback...

If a parcel gets lost or damaged that shouldn't reflect on the buyer's feedback, but how that was handled should reflect on the feedback the seller will receive from the buyer.

I understand what you are saying here Sabine, but I know of a couple of cases where the parcel has become lost and the buyer instead of dealing with it an a mature manner has become accusatory and abusive (again this is not with bears) then left a negative even after being given a full refund including postage......In the case of a seller offering a full refund I don't see how they would deserve a negative.  In the case of a loss a buyer also has a responsibility to approach a seller in a polite and mature manner....I guess unfortunately everyone out there isn't like you and I!!!  bear_shocked

Anyway thanks all for giving your opinions here..... bear_grin  bear_grin

It too frequently seems that sellers are hedging their bets and not leaving feedback until they make sure you do-i think sometimes they want to be sure you leave a positive score

This is the very point that worries me Dilu...I would hate for my buyers to think I was hedging my bets, because I would never leave a negative just because I received one but the buyer is not to know that are they.......

Once I have heard back that they have received their bear I give feedback wether they have or not.  It's really so that I can't overlook that they are still waiting on their bear.

Chris this is what I've been doing recently but it means that most of the time the buyer beats me to it.....and I hate that!!!  bear_ermm

I'm not sure which way I'll go yet, truht is I'm not always that organised and some of the time the bear arrives and the feedback is in before I have a chance to do mine anyway!!!  bear_grin

sarahjane

For those of you who sell your bears on ebay, I was wondering what you do with regards to leaving feedback.  Do you leave feedback after the seller has paid or do you wait until they have received the bear and leave feedback then.

I used to leave immediatley after payment but someone (not a bear seller) mentioned to me that they didn't consider the transaction over until the buyer had recieved their item, because if there is a problem, how they deal with it is all part of the transaction too. Also she said the transaction isn't over until the goods are received safely.

I guess this is a valid point...what do you do??

sarahjane

Hi Brenda...welcome to TT....as has been said by most of the people already ebay is a bit of a mystery, you are best to look on it as advertising. I find the biggest thing on ebay is consistancy...having a bear on there regularly every week seems to help, I also list them at the same time every week too and I think that helps.  Perhaps try to get your bears noticed in other places too...sendng photos to magazines and doing a show or two can also be ways of getting your bears to be noticed.

The biggest thing I agre with Dilu....email Nancy and if you can make the commitment sign up for the bid4bears artist power campaign!!!!  bear_grin

sarahjane

Me too I find that the smaller bears tend to topple over is they are not weighted...other than that I just like the way it feels!!! (very technical I know  bear_grin )
