Reborn dolls certainly are expensive, they're not my area of knowledge so the cost was unknown to me until I just googled it. I remember a brilliant documentary about reborn dolls where a lady went all the way to America just to get a doll she wanted, only to find out its head was broken! It must've been so disappointing for her, especially since she went all that way.
Arcto is lovely! Can I ask what inspired his name?
He sounds like he's a real support to you, I don't think a bear could have a prouder job.
They make those really interesting monkey reborn dolls, I encountered some at a car boot sale near my home and the stall owner insisted that I held one of them! So heavy! His wife bought the kits and assembled and painted them, weighted them with pellets and took them along to events to sell...she really was a talented artist, and the weight of them was so real.
Bicky sounds like a lovely bear, and a very reliable friend. It sounds like his stories were a lot of fun, too, maybe Bicky should write a book one day.
My grandparents used to do puppet shows (and my Grandpa did magic, too) and there's nothing quite like a Punch and Judy show (or any other puppet show, actually) for capturing a child's imagination!
I love the Soom monthly dolls...I keep missing out on them :(
Beryl was especially nice. Hooves and wings definitely work for dolls...but it's a shame there aren't more centaurs.
Wondering if anyone else wants to share about bears that they love. They don't have to be ones that you own, they can be ones that you've seen, owned since you were little or even made yourself. I'd love to hear about why they're special to you, if you don't mind telling (of course).
I might as well start by saying that one of my favourite bears is one I bought for my sister, Sandman by Clare Davis Tedd (I think he's in the gallery here). He was the first artist bear I ever bought, I really liked his eyes and his tired face....and he cheered my sister up no end...he also required more and more Bear-friends
I thought I'd better put this in the Collectors section rather than general, since it pertains mostly to collecting; if it needs moving, I don't mind.
They're like old friends
And of course, bears and more bears go together pretty well...
These are brilliant, Steampunk and bears go together like cheese and crackers
Ooh, more dolly people :D
I collected Asian ball jointed dolls before I got into bears. The trouble with abjds is storing them, i find...nowhere safe to put them.
I wonder if these two hobbies often go hand in hand...
She's lovely! Clown bears are one of my favourite types of bear, and her cheeky face is just adorable.
Wow, he's amazing, especially that little beard He is definitely a refined gent!
