I've suggested my mum and dad and I meet up down there for the weekend and stay at my aunt's. It's my birthday around then, wonder what I'll get for it

In the UK there are very few places that accept cheques any more due to fraud, chip and pin, ie paying by plastic, or cash are pretty much the only way to go. I have to say I always hated cheques because you never knew when someone would cash it. I work in the IT department of a bank, and I have to say you'd be amazed at all the tracking of cards etc that goes on to try and reduce fraudulent activity.
