Hehe at least it is something to look forward to. The bee part sounds interesting too, i try and help out the bees by planting bee flowers in my garden each year. They are so pretty i wish i had started doing it a long time ago.
Considering the extent of the journey, Worcester certainly is 'just north' 40 miles is nothing and it is a great idea to stay overnight. I am soooo jealous as i now live in Lincolnshire and it is a bit of a trek to go down that way. I have great memories of the area though because it is towards my old stomping ground, i grew up in Gloucestershire and remember going on a school trip to Ironbridge many years back. I do miss the scenery in that area, i hope you have a really nice trip. Maybe you can post some pics for us after you go
awww cute
Hehe yes i was surprised how similar the pictures were, i did see another slightly different looking one that was 1930's although it looked like it had been restored. So my guess would be that this one is definitely pre- war but i don't know for sure. It is a nice green mohair with velvet paw pads, i bet he was very handsome in his day
It looks a lot like this musical Jopi teddy, i am not sure on age though.
What a lovely bear
You are welcome I love your little crochet teds, the star trek one is awesome, i think i like the scrap ted the best.
You know, i grew up watching my mum crochet blankets and table cloths, and i didnt find it hugely interesting, but now i wish i had got her to teach me. I have seen the beautiful bears and clothes you can make from it my eyes have been opened to how much you can create, and how fantastic it looks.
I love your little bear, very sweet
There is nothing wrong with collecting bears, we do it for so many reasons.
You may have already tried this, but if i want to look for a bear, i type something in google such as 'green bear' then go to the top and press images. You will get pages and pages of green bears to look through, and you might, just might see yours.
Sorry to hear about your takings, i can imagine that after all your hard work it was very upsetting.
I have heard of organised gangs going round car boot sales distracting people and taking the money because it is just in a tub or tin at the back of the stall. I think the only way round this kind of thing is to have a belt or purse attached to you at all times.
It is good that you posted here, to raise awareness Congrats on the trophy!
I have a couple of your teds in my cabinet, they are very sweet little things
I get the same thing in both sewing my bears and in cross stitch, i find that un-twisting the thread like Fran said helps and also it does it far less, or not at all, if you use shorter bits of thread, the longer the thread the more likely it is to get an annoying knot.
Wow that has to be the most unusual bear i have ever seen! She has a hypnotic stare
She is sweet, i love that colour. I think your marker work looks fine too, i have seen some bears that are way over coloured with markers but i wouldnt say yours is one of those, it is fine. I also like the paws, nice work
I haven't seen one like that before sorry I hope you manage to find out where hes from
With only being able to see his head for the most part, i am not completely sure but does he look like this teddy Hermann?
The place i buy most of my stuff from is in Ironbridge which is just north of Worcester, they have strange opening times and so advise to phone beforehand to make sure you can visit.
After browsing the forum rules to check, i don't think i can post a link to their site which has their address, so will pm it to you if you are interested Let me know!
Your dragons are fabulous, i am in love with one on Etsy, so cute!
Hi Peter, sorry i saw you join the page before i saw this post! Thanks for joining
My friends are not into bear stuff so i don't like to pester them to join, this is my link:

I am still a bit new to it all on facebook, it seems a little complicated.
I think i managed to like your page Fran, i like your little white doggy
What we need is a bear artist auction site hehe
I set up a facebook page, but no one has joined it yet, i figure i will see how it goes, if people join i will try to spend time on it, and if they don't i will close it.
There just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day to do everything i would like. This kind of discussion thread is interesting and helpful, because it shows us all that there isn't really a set way to do things, and we are all in the same boat when it comes to trying to decide what is best for us.
How cute!
I think he is really good, my first bear wasn't as good. Everytime i make a bear i try to do at least one new thing, i have been making them now for nearly a year and there is still lots to learn, which is part of the fun of it. Looking forward to see your next bear
