This is a brand new fee that I got hit with as well. The lady at the post office told me that it had only just been bought in two weeks ago. There was no advertising to tell people about it all she handed me was a photocopy of a notice released by Australia Post to explain what it was. I can understand the additional expense in this day and age. Australia Post should have had a campaign run to inform the puiblic of the changes so we had the information to pass on to the collector. I don't believe $9 would deter a collector when it's something completely out of the control of the artist.
He's wonderful Linda !

I agree with Shane I don't like private auctions either it feels like it's better than everyone else (thats just me though) as far as bidding against people I know or not I have a set figure and if its more than everyones I win if not bad luck for me.
I'd say Nancy Tilberys 101 bears to make or any of Jennifer Laings books I have them all and she was kind enough to autograph them at a workshop last time she was home or Ted Mentens books I keep going back to these all the time. I have been trying to get my hands on Rostraud Illisch book and DVD for ever I'll keep trying. Thats pretty much what everyone else has said now I've read the posts
Good luck
