Yes ... a swap sounds like a great idea.   If you need any help give me a PM.   Any way ... "I'm in".  Sounds like a swap that would also be a challenge.

Karon

Just to let everyone know - I will probably be pulling the names this Wednesday comng.

My "ornament" only needs his ears put on (ughhhh) and feet scultured and he will be on his way to his recipient by the end of next week! Oh ... and even if I do say it myself ... he is sooooo cute!

Just getting the names and addresses ready and these appear to be missing these!

Ta!

Karon

The two larger bears are made of ArtSilk and are of Eastern European Origin.  Can't help with the smaller one I'm afraid.

Reminds me of the time my first cat (now long departed to Rainbow Bridge!) came back one Sunday with a whole WARM roast chicken in her mouth.

Somebody had obviously left their chicken out on the working top to rest and had left the window open.

Karon

How can anyone enjoy owning a bear they have stolen!

Karon

Karon

She is very cute  - love the turned over ears!

Karon

Mmmm...the name sounds familiar Amber bear_whistle

Karon

Hi

We have the basis for the swap going - thanks

Karon

Yep, its that time again!

If anyone would like me to organise one send me a PM.

If you would like one - I would like to pull the names mid November.

Karon.

Karon

Yhank you all so much.  Karon x

Karon

Just received a message from my daughter to say her baby hasn't inherited Treacher Collins Syndrome from her - I am over the moon!!!!!

Karon

Hi Lyn

What a fabulous photo of the "old tart".

Hi Amber, send me a PM - would love to catch up with you.

Karon

No not talking about myself!

Just heard from Lyn that my Swap Bear to her has arrived.  She is one of my "Old Tarts" (Ali has one as well!) and is called Truely Scrumptious but is a bit more of an up-market Old Tart with her lace colour and Swarvoski Crystal Brooch - Ali's was a bit of floosie - clutching her mini bottle of Southern Comfort.

Can't wait for Lyn to post her pic.

PS Have you read Ted Menten's tale of Shrug the "imperfect" Steiff.  Hilareous!

Karon

Well ... as someone who won your lovely Dae-Dae-Dumpsie ... some people have no taste.

NO don't refund postage - you shouldn't be a loser on this.

Lots of love Kim.

My bear to the patient Lyn is now on her way to Australia.

Janice Marie
Teacup Bears
and also:
Susan and Amber.

Anyone else?

Karon

Karon

I agree with Dawn - the lives of "Foxes, ducks and rabbits" are EVERY bit as important as bears.  Can't understand how people ENJOY killing things.

Karon

Hi All,

Thanks for the congratulations.

Yes Margaret I INTEND to do a quilt - but I wont say anything - that way I am not embarressed if I don't manage to do it.

Emma is 14 weeks along at the moment.

It been a GOOD year this, this year!  Feeling well, got back in contact with Emma, gone through an image re-vamp (MUCH NEEDED), reduced my hours, appreciated at work  and now of course the baby - if I was a cat I guess I would be purring!

"Made friends" properly with my modern Bernina - discovered it is nothing to be scared of!

Going on a needle-felting course on 20/21st of October by a lady called Gilda Baron - look her up, her work is GORGEOUS!!!!  Not bear related, she does the most fabulous landscape.  I am also doing a soft doll course in November bear_original .

In February my work is moving to my home town of Wycombe and when it does I want to buy a young pug x (my rough collie Rupert died 18 months ago - he was 14). I am SO looking forward to that!!!!!  I have been day dreaming pugs ...  bear_whistle .  I want something SMALL and PORTABLE with a BIG dog attitude  .

Karon

Karon

Yep thats right - I will be a grandmother!

My daughter Emma is expecting.  I just hope and pray everything will go well for the baby as she has genetic issues- she has Treacher Collins Syndrome which means there is a 50/50 chance of the baby being affected.

Emma has the condition in its milder form but unfortunately it is not a very kind gene and the baby could have it mild, severely OR not at all.

Fingers crossed (as well as everything else!!!!).

Karon

Karon

Yep that's right.

I managed to get Sunday as my "off" day - there really is no excuse!

Trouble is I have done a few double shifts lately - what with THAT and not sleeping well anyway.

My alarm went off at 7.30 but I thought "Oh blow it go back to sleep" and I did  .

I am not sorry really though as I would probably only come back with an addition to my overflowing mohair stash (I have more mohair than I will ever make bears with).

At the moment my patchwork interests are taking over from the bears.  There are a couple of needle crafting shows coming up and I want to spend my cash there.

I do hope everyone who went enjoyed the show.

Karon

Karon

Definately, there is AT LEAST you me and two others!!!!!!!
