Melissa, I know what you mean, black bears are soooo difficult and awful to photograph. I have one lady who keeps asking me for black bears as well and talk about eyestrain when you are trying to sew them!!! eeekkk
Apologies, to the others here. I feel a bit of a git at the moment, I've just read about Marilyn's bad news and her loss and I feel awful about the title of this entry now. I'm really sorry if I've offended or upset her, I'm not really that much of an insensitive ass, I just hadn't visited Bearhugs at that point.

This was warlock, a moment of madness informed me it was a good idea to make a black cat, a wholly black cat. I made the cat, spent hours scissor sculpting the rotten thing and then adding tiny ultra suede teeth. For the record, I loathed this cat, but Kevin told me the cat was ok, leave the cat alone, someone would love it. I saw no market for road kill. This is as he was, full frontal mass of darkness, and from the side where you can probably see he has a cat's nose after all!
Anyway, I was sick of putting the cat on my stand, I wasn't happy with him, I never for a moment thought he was going to sell. I came home from visiting a bear fair and went through my bears, kicking out the ones that I thought didn't hit the grade, and donating them to whoever wanted a free bear. This thing though Kevin insisted had to stay.
I couldn't face putting this sub-standard creature out, didn't want to look at him anymore, threw a tantrum and got out my felting stuff, that I have never used.
Hours later, stress relieved by stabbing the rotten thing in the head, I now have Mog. The question is, this being my first ever needle sculpted thing...did I improve it or just wreck it further?

Too Cute! They really are lovely little fluff balls, bet their keepers know they've got them lol
I'll really miss that mag, such a shame. I won't be getting Collect it on subscription, I'll try one and see, but I don't see why I should pay for something I don't really want.
She is a lovely bear, with such funky feet, I'd feel a bit sad too, but on the bright side, someone is going to love her within an inch of her life and be so happy and excited to receive her. You can have the buzz of that and then some more cash to create another little loveable with...or treat yourself to something really nice! I envy your embroidery talents though, you've done a cracking job with her tummy, wow!
Nice bikes! Nice opossum
Too cute!!! well done!
Just to say a really big thanks for such a great day. I visited the show as a customer and it was fabulously set out, a really friendly atmosphere and so many great bears! I loved the idea of letting people vote for their favourites in the four seasons challenge and had to put my pennies worth in! There were so many wonderful bears done for that challenge it was really, really, really difficult to find a favorite to vote on. My poor step daughter couldn't decide at all and I think voted for spring teds all round There were some really pretty little bears on Jack and Lila's stall that had butterfly markings on their head, though because I'd taken my more sensible half, I had to content myself with buying some supplies and longing for some of those bears. Any one by Kim would have done, but particularly the little red and yellow guy, he was stunning. Studio 44 had a lovely chap called Newton and I really, really wanted him, not to mention the Madabout bears, three o'clock bears, Ju-beary bears, Sally Ann Bears and those fantastic tiny flutterbies and Mary Myrtle Minatures, but all I got was no, no, no, no, NO!
It really was a pleasure to go to such a lively, friendly fair and see so many lovely bears...that was a fabulous event and Samantha should be really, really proud of herself... :bday: happy birthday for tomorrow anyway :cake:
Nice bears, the little blue chap really is something. Andrea
They are beautiful! Such lovely tubby little tummies and they look so cuddlesome. I really like the grey and white guy, but the little girlie bears are just as lovely, I'd be hard pressed to pick one.
Andrea
They are gorgeous! Good luck with the trampoline, but take it easy, you don't literally want a bouncing baby boy or girl on your hands do you lol
Good luck with the show
They are beautiful! I really like the little blue guy and the one with the longer golden fur beneath him. I really like your minis it amazes me how much detail you get into them.
