Congrats !! very well deserved !! I beleave that 6 nods from the mags is a record !!
As I have said hear and in privite judi you are leading us down a new and exciting road in the bear world. As the bear world changes so dramaticly we look to leaders like yourself for keys to the internet ebay and the new skills we need to embrace to push ahead and create new magic in our art form.

LOL I am watching every second I can get to but I am pet sitting AND donna has come over to work on bears and outfits for bears so I am missing bits and moments so keep looking!!! I love all out skaters esp johnny as I remember that type of attitude very well ! It keeps many folks away and gives you a feeling of being protected and pushes people away not giving them a chance to be VERY mean to you because your different, as you get a bit older in the gay world you see that you don't need to do that just "live and let live"  or ****-UM !!

What is PVA?

I warched all the woman in the halfpipe snowboerding and  must have missed it
So few bears this year BUT I just found out one of the reasons !! most times I see bear is in ice skating WELL fans can only toss PLASTIC flowers No real ones ! and no other stuff can be tossed  a few have but I want onto a fan site and asked why so few bears and that what all the real hardcore Olympic nut's told me ...Funny thing that im not that bad but the folks on the line I found were real bad
well I am still on the hunt !
did anyone watch the china pairs skaters that fell WOW what guts she had to get back up and finnish !!!!

  In one of the most classyist moments in sports our MICHELLE KWAN has pulled out of the olympic games her olympic gold dreams are over and my heart go out to her, few have ever represented the USA with such grace and pure class . So now as she sits in the "Kiss & Cry" of life I toss onto the ice that she ruled and graced Teddy after Teddy

Olympic Mascots have been a tradition since the 60's ...How many bears have been used as mascots ...Can you Name them?!

PS all the Artists from canada should be thinking about designing for your country  !! the olympic board from the host country always has an open contest to design the Mascots !! How great would that be to have one of your designs be the mascot for the next olympics!!!

I have to tell you that when I had the bear shop open and had a artist that did a seres of  bears that had been dyed with cool aid  I loved the colors ! and the feel very soft to the touch and the collectors loved to hear the cool aid dyed skill was use and again the colors were very sharp and striking

I like this fluffy puffy li"L girl done in your old well loved look I would never have used it for that type of look and wow it realy work !!!
JUDI- how does this "fluffy" longer lengh typr of fabric work with air brushing ? should it allways be a short pile to get the best detail or is longer ok(harder)

But what a great parade of ideas for dressing winter teddys !!! this is my list of likes please pipe up for your picks !!!!

BEST OVERALL OUTFIT: Canada !!! white muton HATS with flaps up or down with jackets embrioed with the year and maple leaf VERY VERY COOL
BEST HATS : CANADA just have to give to them very cool (would look great on a teddy)
BEST EARMUFF: Denmark flag red with white cross very cool
BEST SCARF : Latvia cream knit TRIPLE wrapped and tied very nice and kind of mod classic
BEST BOOTS : Denmark red with white fur trim and white fur at a sole very funky
BEST MITTENS : Sweden Flags on the palm (would make a great idea for a bear palm up ("talk to the mitten")lol
BEST HAT THAT WOULD MAKE A GREAT TEDDYBEAR : Mongolia fur fur and more fur was that some kind of fox ? with the tails as the ear flaps !
Most interesting designed hat : USA gathered and brimless with piping ! kind of sailor style would you not say done in three colors red white blue (wounder if they traded each other for the colors that whey wanted ) very cool collector item (need to check ebay to see how many make it to auction)
MOST MODERN FOWARD: ITALY shinny bronze micro fiber with silver fox trim
BEST CLASSIC DRESSED : SLOVENIA !! YEP SLOVENIA !!! cream crape quilted jackets with SAGE scarf's with matching gloves topped with contrasting snap caps for the men and knit hats done in a soft powered winter blue..the undershirts done in modern micro fiber with a great stand up collar

OK you New Zealanders have to tell me what your flagbearer was wearing as a cape !!!! was it feathers? a fur ? DUCK ! what was that !!! very very very cool!!!

OK did you see Sophia Loren carrying the olympic flag she MUST have a pack with the devil that woman is 71 years old and just STUNNING STUNNING !!!!

Good luck to all the countrys that are hear on TT!! give a shout out to your teams by country..  As an olympic junky and a bear lover I always look for athletes holding  teddys for luck!!! I always find at least one.. always been a guy by the way (I love that ) !!! can you find a athlete from your country with a teddy ?

Moving to a new size is like starting ALL over again so I get what your coming from. I think you need to experiment a bit after you get your new pattern done soft stuff you head and use the "TRU EYES" that was mentioned above it lest you play place a size you think you might like sit it on the table and walk by him/her a few hundred times then change them to a different size and do the same he/she will talk to you and you will find what direction you want to go !!! FYI on my 13inch bear I use a 8-9 mil eye but if i am doing a finishing skill around them I go down a size and I use true proportion sizing to the overall design of the bear
The trend is to go much larger with eyes then the "True" proportion rule of thumb of concept and most are not using the" Proportions math formula" for patterns and sizing so eyes are totaly up for grabs LET THE NEW LI'l GUY TELL YOU

Hello love ya all with respect !!! NO GLUE !!! Donnas post about leather weld to keep your lineing in place(spairingly) when working with real fur befor sewing it to your cut peices to reinforse the fur is time tested and NOT A FINNISHING SKILL and in line with the thread of the question of the post. If you are useing a glue in a finnishing skill and you feel that you cannot find a neddle arts prosses to make the skill work and then still deside to use this prosses then you should in your description of the work include the word glue ..like..
"BOBBY" has neddle felted pawpads with glued leather bearclaws
The bottom line for me from all angles is the genraly accepted definiton of what we all do "Neddle Arts " the term is a great umbrella thats includes much of all the work we do but separates us from other artist forms in a respectfull way.
soooo if your not doing it with a neddle then you need to let the collector, the store and the artist comunity know that your cool new great pretty finnishing skill comes form outside our work disaplin "Neddle Arts"  and has been adapted to create a wounderfull new intresting aspect to your work so that care and treatment can be known up front in the overveiw of the work.
