Hi Ruth,
Thanks for letting us know about poor Vicki. I was having a nice long chat with her late afternoon at Hugglets and we'd all had a lovely day. Then something like that happens. Words fail me at times like this, I just can't work out how people's minds work, how they can live with themselves. It's brilliant to know that the pets are all safe though and no-one has been hurt, but even so ....... what the hell are things coming to these days.
Please let Vicki know if you speak to her again Ruth that we are thinking of her and just hope that things can get sorted out and back to normal for her and the family.

Ah, thank you Paula! Yes, maybe it's a good idea at times to just throw caution to the wind and see what happens. I don't usually make two-toned bears but it has made a nice change and think I will be doing more in the future, so many thanks for the challenge, it has done me good by making me think outside of my normal box!

Hi there,
Well, my bear for this challenge didn't really turn out like a panda in the end! I realised only tooooooo late that I had cut the top body pieces out of the wrong colour, so had to alter things around a bit! I was also going to blacken the eye area afterwards but then felt it wouldn't have looked right at all! So, I guess it's a little pandarish, but not much! Back to the drawing board I think when Hugglets is over!

Well, I guess I must be a big softy because ... yes ... I do get attached to some bears! In fact, I recently became so attached to a bear that I decided not to sell him even though a customer had said that she would like him. Fortunately, the lady had become a nice friend even though I had never met her, but she said she was sure I would make another bear she would like. I can also remember feeling physically sick as a favourite bear of mine was bought at a fair some time ago and it was horrible seeing him being carried away!! That customer still teases me about it!
Although I need the money, (who doesn't!!) I think there are times when you have to go by your heart!! No wonder I'm broke!!!!!
Just enjoy your bears!!

Oh, What a beautiful dog - he is so lucky to have wandered into your home and thank heavens he is no longer roaming around on his own.
It's so sad to hear of people in California leaving their dogs and pets because of the mortgages crisis and I hope this is not the reason in this little dogs case. I think any pet I had would be the last thing I would cling on to under such circumstances. Luckily there are wonderful people like you who would help a poor homeless pet. Nice to hear of a happy ending and have fun with your new friend!

You will probably have read Jane's (Doodlebears) important message this week about clicking on the special "button" on the website for Breast Cancer as an excellent way for the Charity to raise valuable revenue via sponsorship to help so many women. Thank you Jane for this. I also do this now along with clicking on the Animal Rescue Site which I have done every day for as long as I can remember!
Well, I don't know why I haven't noticed this before, but if you go to do your "clicking" on the site, at the top of the page is a horizontal bar with six brilliant and very important charities for you to click on in order for them to raise their funds. You can click for "Hunger", "Breast Cancer", "Child Health", "The Rainforest", "Animal Rescue" and "Literacy" to help organisations in various parts of the world.
Please bookmark and pop daily on to either http://www.thebreastcancersite.com/ or http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/ and you can do six separate clicks to help these extremely important aspects of our daily life all from one of the sites. It doesn't cost you a penny, just about thirty seconds of your time!
Right, that's part of my good deed for the day!

Hi Jane,
Yes, I've just done that, it's such a good idea. When I turn my computer on, the first thing I always do is go to an animal charity site and do my daily clicking so as to help them get money from sponsors, so now I can click the Breast Cancer site at the same time. If everyone made this their first "job" after turning their computers on, it becomes a good habit and can help so many!
Thank you Jane. Hope you are feeling a little better at the moment with your back. I did something to my back last Monday and haven't been able to do any bearing because of the pain and also not being able to sit down at all. My legs are numb and tingly to I think it is a trip to the doctors tomorrow! so I can only start to imagine how much pain you are in at times and just wish that it would all go away for you. You take care now, and look forward to seeing you at Hugglets.

I agree with everyone too, your Dad's sheep look quite adorable, and it is so nice that you were all able to share the day together. Your Dad looks really great and when you think what the poor love has been through. We all wish him the very best. Now, how about some close-up piccies of those sheep!!!!

Aren't black cats difficult to photograph!!! Unfortunately my hubby deleted some photos of him from his camera while we were at Stratford bear fair, intending to take some better ones of him soon. Sadly we never had that opportunity again but I do have my favourites from when he was a kitten. He actually looked quite browny toned some days and when the sun used to shine on his fur, you could see deep stripey markings showing "through" the black fur.

You are so lovely! Thank you for posting this little picture, so sweet of you. I was going to try going a whole day without the computer on, but ... well, sort of gave in!! Just as well otherwise I wouldn't have seen this!!! - wow, they both look so much like my little Woody who I still miss every day. I will have to send you some piccies of him so that you can see for yourself! But it is lovely to see your Jupey and playmate.
I am so surprised that you have not had any calls for the kittens, maybe it is just that with holidays and everything, people aren't thinking of adopting a kitten at the moment but I am sure that someone will soon fall in love with them. I hate the house without a little ball of disruptiveness following me around but I know that I am not ready to get another kitty just yet. I passed our local RSPCA the other day and did wonder whether I should just pop in! The temptation was sort of there, but I will know when I am ready.
So good luck Gemma, I know you work so hard for all your foster kitties and cats and really do hope that they soon find good homes. Take care and thank you once again for being so lovely! :hug: :hug: Big hug to Jupey too of course!
