How long would YOU wait to reimburse your buyer if one of your parcels got lost? I'm not sure how to handle this and it's not like I have that kind of cash sitting in my pocket; it pays my bills!
Shelli...I don't have any experience in this at all (from the teddy bear perspective that is) but I would think that you could wait at least another couple of weeks, while you get the paper work etc sorted out and to give Sprite a chance to turn up (just in case he's been mis sorted or something)....perhaps you could ask your buyer, if she is willing to wait longer (until the insurance comes in for example) then that would make it easier financially.
From the buyers perspective (my husband buys stuff from all over the world and its amazing the round about route they sometimes take to get to their destination) we've always been prepared to wait a good while...and so far the items have always turned up. I think if you maintain contact with your buyer (keep her in the loop so to speak) then she would be happy to wait for a while at least.
Good luck

Gemma...The very best of luck!!!! They are both adorable, I'm a bit useless with names though, I really like Aleta's suggestion.
He's gorgeous...and I love his nose!!!
Jodi, while there are a lot of differing opinions about this. it seems to me like you have the right idea...especially if the money part is flexible as you say. Hopefully one day the group will be able to be expanded outside of ebay.....and I really hope that one day my work will be of a standard to be able to qualify. It's something to aim for anyway.... .
In the meantime good luck with the early formation of your group!!!
Well I know you've all seen these recently but here are my two efforts!!!
Clarence won a blue ribbon and a encouragement award at the TABA

There are some fantastic bears as a result of this challenge, so I'm going to keep trying!!!
These are synthetic bears I made a little while ago....I've never been able to make synthetics work for me since...I've tried twice for this challenge and ended up with something that resembles a football!!!
I did the unthinkable 18 years ago and got married on Grand Final Day

This is a great topic Penny.
I don't know about any one moment ...but this bear was the first one I made that came close to what I was looking for...since then I have done more shading etc, but even without shading I was pretty happy with her.
My dance around the kitchen table moment is still to come I think.
