Brother...I was sooooo long winded everybody got in there before I even got it posted....good comments all and half of what I was trying to say...hahahhahha
I have a lot of stuff on my plate, school ending, a volunteer project, applying for a job, racing bikes and packing for a 3 week vacation.
I also have a question for you...I visit blogs that will have a photo of a coffee cup as their only entry for the week and have 67 comments on the photo. This is a craft blog, mind you and this will be a pic of a regular 'ole coffee cup with coffee in it and people will go hog wild with comments. I don't get it.
I think you answered your own first problem in this line Jennifer..... you have way too much on the go to be very creative or even have any time to stab or stitch. Where and when would you manage to do it?...in the middle of a bike race? perhaps while warming up?... perhaps you need to just slow down.... take some time to enjoy the other things that you are doing. They are all important...at least as important as creating...or...if they aren't.... say :"NO" and do what you enjoy. Sometimes we let ourselves be bamboozled into doing things that we don't want to do and then regret saying yes. I am getting really bad now... older and wiser and all that.... finally I just say no. It irks the hell out of some folks..but you know what? .... life is too short to do what I don't want to do any more. My grumpy old Dad use to tell me that I shouldn't wait til I was 80 to do what I darn well pleased. I should have listened and begun even earlier than I have. Now it is your turn... decide on priorities ...and ... go for it.
Also... about the blogs..... hey..!! You still haven't added mine to your list!! There is one more thing on your "to do" list...lol
Like Shantell, I also go to your blog regularly..find it very intersting.. love the pics and your ideas about things....but only leave comments on occasion. If I am not the first person to make note of something on people's blogs...or if I don't have a quirky, or cute or funny comment that I think looks good on there.... ....then most of the time I don't bother to add one that is just another of the same........sorry..... but I am there.....honest I am.
When I first began my blog ...I expected peoplel to show up in droves too......well, okay... expected at least a few if not a lot of comments... it just doesn't happen. Don't worry...doesn't mean they are not out there. Every so often something catches their interst and they all jump on the bandwagon.....much like on here. Look at the silly threads that bring every single TTer out of the woodwork. And some days dozens will post exactly the same sentiments to a thready....what good is that? Who needs to look at 15 posts saying the same things? NOt interesting to me.... I prefer things that are a bit of a learning experience,... perhaps even add someting to my thinking for the day...etc....
Carry on Jennifer....don't rush it... don't force it......your little creations are wonderful.... they are amazing to see when one presets...but it is great that you are also interested in activity and in your health, proper diet..... and in family and related things to that..... you do have a lot going on and should be enjoying it all. Shantell is right ......our blogs and creating things are not what life is all about. That is just a small part of it really. In your heart you know it....perhaps you are just having a slightly introspective type of day and are reaching out a bit.... searching for some answers to a few things....
Tomorrow could be a whole other ball game. You could come up with a brand new little creation that will knock our socks off. Or not... it might not be til next month...... don't fret....we will be here waiting to see it when it happens.....
oh, and one more thing...man, am I long winded today or what?..... .....about blogs.....
Maybe you could find your way around to a few blogs of others once in a while and leave comments of your own or even just the occasional "hiya". That gets your own blog addy out there; more folks will see it and soon...have to check our your blog... cuz they see it here, there and everywhere. It is kinda like..... "she told two friends...and she told two friends"..... you know the scenario.....
I just hate that you can't always get a straight answer from Canada Post...or never the same answer twice in a row...it seems to depend upon the day or the person behind the counter on any other day. Sheeeesh..it is tough to figure them out at all...that sounds way out of line to me too Shane.
Awwwww...I love that little bear.....
Dorothy....I would say jump ship right away as you only have a couple of posts.... Just start up a brand new one with blogger.
Absolutely...get an Ott....
Hey... where can we all get a discount now?..for advertising for Ott? lol
Richy....I think you would feel undervalued if you charge by the hour...... some of them just take longer than we think they should.....just pick a price you will be happy with and that is about it.
Initially.... our bears do not bring much in the way of dollar value...but as we gain experience, manage to find a "cute" or other factor that draws a collector's eye.... and after we sort of "get known" in the bear making and collecting world..... or somehow get lucky and find an instant niche.... perhaps the price tag can go up a bit. Some folks figure the cost of materials and double it.... hard to do with miniatures as the material cost is not high... ...but it is also sometimes a bit more fiddly..so how to figure that into the equation ..it is the age old question..... ..
Awww what a cute face Cloe.....
Good luck with Hugglets..... I am sure you will do very well. Wish I was close enough to get there. Hey... on your site I see Westie Bears...I met Andy at a bear show in Hatfield at the Red Lion pub few years ago when I was in England! What a small world!!
Well, you just take a walk through the parks then....and collect feathers lying about from the swans, ducks and geese..?? there are usually quite a few from our Canada Geese on the fairways and around the greens on the golfcourses here too ....along with plenty of "geese peep" as we call it....ick.....try to pick up the clean ones!
Michaels' and other Craft stores have feathers...check also all fly fishing supply shops..... hrdware stores also sell products for making flies for fishing... and also taxidermy supply shops
No agony in turning them....just in the jointing sometimes..the turning of the pins.... getting them tight as I want them.
I was going along so great...getting several linked...then...clicked the wrong button..went back to site...and my list of links disappeared...arrrgghhhh!!!! this time I save each one as I add!!
My list is a mixed bag... sort of like liquorice allsorts.... lol........some are blogs,...some are sites.... I am adding a link to the page that appeals to me the most...be it blog or site page. The person perusing a site will still find the blog link and vice versa... cuz we all seem to have them linked on our pages.
UPDATE.... lots of copy and paste later... and of course, "backing and forthing" cuz I had to read some of the blog content didn't it?? ...lol.... ,I am sure you guys figured out an easier way or somethng...but..I got it...my hand is tingly...I am off for second coffee and some brekky...yikes..it is noon!!!
check out my blog to see your name in print....hahahha...
I will still be adding sites I find that have no blogs.... but later, or another day....... must vacuum........
Awwww Ania.....they are all so cute!! What a great job you are doing. Love the design of them.... such sweet faces....
I prefer a smaller cup or mug that only holds about 3/4 of a cup of coffee. I like it...but not a ton of it. You may recognize the middle one as a Special Coffe type of mug from a bar.... it is. Coffee with Tia Maria in it and a big dollop of whipped cream and a cherry on top? Yup..one of those. It is nice and thick so keeps my coffee hot for quite a while which is a good thing as I often get sidetracked and then go back to find it cold. The other two are also of the "tiny" variety made by potters from Salt Spring Island (which is a small island inhabited by mostly artsy folk) off the coast of B.C.
I wish I had a beautiful view out my window...but..my neighbours are renovating so it looks like this...
But...I do a lot of pretending...so it really looks like this to me....
Oh, boy.... am I glad you asked that question Eliza hahhahahahhah ...... thank you...I have wanted to ask for ages...but didn't want to appear "stupid" either..... silly aren't we? Man, if we don't know..some days we are to embarrassed to ask...and just fiddle around til we figure it out or quit looking for the right sequence of buttons.... then...wait for somebody else to need to know. Ahhhhhhh finally........
Be careful.... you will end up in the hospital with carpal tunnel surgery..... been there done that ....and it does not take 6 weeks to get back into action....it takes about 6 MONTHS!! Numb bum?..... oh,yeh...all the time...a hazard of sitting for any length of time for me.
Cute little guys Katrina....how about something like Berry for the little mixed colour guy?
I am so glad that you can do some bear making while recuperating....... your hands and sense of humour are still intact.... great pic of them on the leaves. Ilike to pose my guys in little settings...so I love it.
Awwwww Sarah Jane, what a shame. Never mind...take a deep breath... vacuum again for all the flying fur bits and then go give him a big hug. He will be patiently waiting for you .... and... at least this is something that can be fixed. Thank goodness it was not something to do with the trimming. What if the scissors had slipped and you wrecked his puffy little cheeks?? Eeeeeek!! Think of this as a good thing and post his picci as soon as you can cuz you know we are waiting to see......
I have a good laugh every time I see it Jane....I WANT one of my own. lol It would be a great solution I think.
Tammy...I hve friends in Russia and Serbia...I use Canada Post all the time and it is great. Never lost anything and it gets there in about 10 to 15 days...same amount of time it takes a parcel to reach us from the eastern states. Pretty good I thought.
Have never bothered sending anything with UPS after finding out how much they ding us for extras when they deliver to our door. As a matter of fact I have sent things back if they tried to collect $50 on top of what I paid. Both times the sender happily then shipped it back to us via regular U. S. mail.
It is a Brit penny Jodi ........
That is really interesting Karen... never would have thought of that. So... the pointy end is the insert bit and the other end is the little foot? hard to visualize, but whatever you do your cats are absolutely beautiful. My dogs are really just ...uhm.... whimsical...in comparison.... lol... well, there IS no comparison really... yours are amazing works of art.
This is a fun topic...we are learning a lot here.....
Catherine, love your little guys. I will absolutely have to try making a tiny horse. they are so cute... and of course, still love little Smudge.
