On Saturday October 27th, 2007 we are hosting the Steiff Million Hugs Event 2007. The event will be from 10 am to 4 pm and will be held at The Arts Centre at 72 Talbot Street West in beautiful downtown Leamington, Ontario. I thought if any of you are going to be in our neck of the woods, you would like to stop by and say hello. It is a free event with videos, refreshments and a peek at all of the Steiff 2007 range. Everyone is invited, but if you RSVP before Oct. 20th, you will recieve a Steiff goody bag and will be entered into draws for the door prizes at the event. There is also three special limited edition event pieces available exclusively for the event. One of which we have had signed by Mr. Jim Pitocco, President of Steiff North America!

I am soooo sorry I wasn't able to attend. My travelling buddy bailed on me last minute and my car was (and still is) making a weird knocking noise, so I thought it was best not to travel that far with my car being in the condition it was. Hopefully we will be able to meet up another time.

Thought I would post a pic of the new addition to my hug. Her name is Jodi and she was made by my friend and fellow Teddy Talker, Cheryl Ross of Cherbears. She is a one of a kind made from a lovely batiked mohair from Intercal. She was supposed to be for sale at Okto-BEAR-Fest this fall in Kitchener, but Cheri, who forgot I like bright coloured bears, made the mistake of showing me the bear at the store and I knew right away that I had to have her for my collection!!!

Okay, so here is the deal...
I have a subscription to Teddy Bear & Friends, but it always takes SOOOO very long to arrive to me all the way up here in Canada! I was at my local bookstore sometime last week and bought a copy (Sept/Oct 2007) because frankly, I had forgotten I had a subscription and by the time I realized it, I wasn't too concerned because I knew it would be WEEKS before my own copy arrived in the mail....Impatient, I KNOW!!! LoL Anyways, I thought I would have a little raffle for some of my TT'r friends that for some reason of another have a hard time obtaining this magazine. Here's how it'll work...This is open to ANY TT member from anywhere across the globe. If you have a hard time finding this magazine locally, just reply to this post and let me know that you want it...On Sunday Sept. 16, 2007, I will place all of the names of the people who replied into a hat and draw ONE name out of the hat. The winner will be announced sometime on Sept. 16 and I will also PM the person to let them know that they have won!

Kind of unfortunate that it is for UK collector's only. I bought one last year and it cost me like $23 which in all fairness was a bit much in my opinion. I don't suppose a KIND, warm-hearted TT'er from the UK could find it in their hearts to get an extra free copy and send it to me? I would reimburse this lovely individual for the shipping fees of course!!!

I would panic yet if I were you...They are just running a bit behind it would seem. I live in Canada and mine was in almost four weeks after it was already on the shelves in the stores...So yours will probably be a little behind as you are across the globe...

Shane, Patty & Sue Ann...
I'm Loving this thing...soooo easy to use...It only took me about 5 minutes to set the computer up. I hear from numerous people that they have had their Mac's for YEARS and have NEVER had a single problem with them so you should be pretty safe in regards to them breaking down and having to be repaired. I think I have even converted some of my friends...They all want this computer now!!!

It's sooo cool that this many of our very own forum members were nominated for these prestigious awards to begin with. It's even better to know that so many were also rewarded for the hard work they put into the bears and for making this industry what it is...A wonderful group of artists who pride themselves on always putting 150% into everything they do and are just amazing people to know and be associated with.
