Lisa,
So glad you liked the Qantas one...I saw it a while back on another BB & had to go find it in honor of all the wonderful Aussie friends on TT.
Qantas Airlines
After every flight, Qantas pilots fill out a form, called a "gripe sheet,"
which tells mechanics about problems with the aircraft. The mechanics correct the problems; document their repairs on the form, and then pilots review the gripe sheets before the next flight.
Never let it be said that ground crews lack a sense of humor. Here are some actual maintenance complaints submitted by Qantas' pilots marked with a
P)
and the solutions recorded (marked with an S) by maintenance engineers.
(By the way, Qantas is the only major airline that has never had an
accident.)
P: Left inside main tire almost needs replacement.
S: Almost replaced left inside main tire.
P: Test flight OK, except auto-land very rough.
S: Auto-land not installed on this aircraft.
P: Something loose in cockpit.
S: Something tightened in cockpit.
P: Autopilot in altitude-hold mode produces a 200 feet per minute descent.
S: Cannot reproduce problem on ground.
P: Evidence of leak on right main landing gear.
S: Evidence removed.
P: DME volume unbelievably loud.
S: DME volume set to more believable level.
P: Friction locks cause throttle levers to stick.
S: That's what they're for.
P: IFF inoperative.
S: IFF always inoperative in OFF mode.
P: Suspected crack in windshield.
S: Suspect you're right.
P: Number 3 engine missing.
S: Engine found on right wing after brief search.
P: Aircraft handles funny.
S: Aircraft warned to straighten up, fly right, and be serious.
P: Target radar hums.
S: Reprogrammed target radar with lyrics.
P: Mouse in cockpit.
S: Cat installed.
P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer.
S: Took hammer away from midget.
P: Dead bugs on windshield.
S: Live bugs on back-order.
Lawyer Joke!
A very successful lawyer parked his brand new Lexus in front of the office,
ready to show it off to his colleagues. As he got out, a truck came along
too close to the curb and completely tore off the
driver's door. Fortunately, a cop in a police car was close enough to see
the accident and pulled up behind the Lexus, his lights flashing. But,
before the cop had a chance to ask any questions, the lawyer started
screaming hysterically about how his Lexus, which he had just picked up the
day before, was now completely ruined and would never be the same, no
matter how the body shop tried to make it new again.
After the lawyer finally wound down from his
rant, the cop shook his head in disgust and disbelief. "I can't believe how
materialistic you lawyers are," he said. "You are so focused on your
possessions that you neglect the most important things in life."
"How can you say such a thing?" asked the lawyer.
The cop replied, "Don't you even realize that your left arm is missing?
It got ripped off when the truck hit you!!!"
"OH, MY GOD!" screamed the lawyer.

Tracy,
Your web site is really really beautiful...as are your kritters...great job!!!
Judy,
If you lived closer your son would get the next backhoe ride...lol hubby often give rides to the kids ...and even some of the little girls are as eager for a rides as the boys are. it's cute to see the kids expressions when they are up on that machine getting their turn. I will have to get some pictures next time:)
I love the picture of the cows nose!!!
Sending major "healing thoughts" your way Dilu
Holding you & yours in my thoughts!
Dilu, When I saw the topic & your message...I just couldn't resist posting the picture of me digging with our backhoe. I knew it probably wouldn't be quite what you were asking for...but I just had to do it...lol the kid is still very much alive in me. I love playing in the dirt!
We get loads of bear & kritter pictures...and I just thought it would be fun to post something a little...ummm maybe a lot different.
Lisa, I was kind of nervous the first time I tried digging ...but I had watch my hubby do it so much & he was right there beside me for a long time when I first started. The machine really can't go anywhere when it is digging, because of those things sticking out on each side are outriggers that actually keep the machine balanced & in place. There are foot pedals that move the digging bucket right & left, and the rest is done with those levers my hands are on. lol any real backhoe operator would get a major kick out of my operating instructions.
We have a small farm-10 acres -dairy goats & chickens & gardens.
I love the pictures that are being posted...it's just fun!!!
Is that you on the digger Charlotte??!! :teddybear:
Yes...that's me...lol I won't drive the thing around but I love digging with it!!!
